Spoiler (click to show/hide):
While crouching, Ruby listen to the words of the "robbers", and what she heard made it quite clear that it wasn't a robbery as she first assumed. Instead, it seemed like they were searching for someone, and surely not with good intentions. She sighs, annoyed for having to be in such a situation not long after coming into this city, but for now she's still calm. Or at least, she is calm until the bartender face is blown away, and the situation takes a turn for the worse. Knowing that soon FEDRA will be coming after them, they promptly begin to take hostages and, as luck would want, Ruby is one of them.
The one who takes her makes some remarks, but he's completely ignored as she's intent on seeking the best way to get the hell out of there. Fighting with them is not an option since it's too dangerous, as the situation is highly unfavorable to her, and it's not sure that she would be rewarded for taking them down. Too much risks and too little possibility of rewards. Instead, waiting for the right opportunity to strike the one holding her and running away seems to be a better choice, and it would be the easier too. That's because the "robbers that are not robbers", as she's calling them now in her head, right now under the assumption of having the upper hand over the hostages, are probably mostly concerned with the incoming FEDRAs, and to prove this guess if the fact that not only they didn't search her for weapons, but they also ignored the katana strapped on her back. They probably thought that with their guns they could kill her even while she's unsheathing her weapon, so no point in taking it away. Also, having that blade on her back, they probably assumed that she doesn't have other weapons.
But that's too bad for them, as not only she's hiding a Kris dagger and a handgun in her belt around her hip, but also her katana is not a katana, but a dual kodaichi, and of those two the hilt of the first is the hilt of the presumed katana, while the hilt of the second coincides with the lower end of the scabbard, disguised as a normal end of a scabbard, and so is beyond suspicion of being the hilt of a weapon, and so even if grabbed they wouldn't probably give it much thought.
Anyway, she continues to follow them, waiting for a good chance, and that would probably be when the FEDRA's men arrive. If there are no pursuers and it seems that they think to be safe, she'll start to act when she thinks the time is right, but for now it's better to wait...
