Well Hartista is back, so I suppose this is all moot.
http://breedingseasongame.blogspot.com.au/
I checked pretty much every day, so I suppose that paid off.
As I thought it was his living situation that was the problem. I thought he was a homeless bum on the street by now.
Though to be honest if I copped that much crap from anons about his donation system I would have given up and started under a new name. If I even restarted. But that is weak willed me.
Here's hoping there is some more good will towards him this time. Though constructive critism is always fine, so whatever.

I'm glad to read he's allright and back to work.
But I hope this project won't completely die and we'll eventually find a programmer for the coding. Can't start the real thing without one.

I do agree that I don't want this to die (even if I'm not focusing on it at the moment because I got other things going on), but it's nice to hear that Harisita is back and is coming back with a new update. Hopefully we can find someone who can help make this game work properly and create a new game for everyone to enjoy!

Well, to be honest and fair of the situation, he hasn't been the BEST at, well, deadlines. so when he, say, doesn't get on for several months and the donation system seems to 'magically disappear', most people assume he ran with the money and that was that. I'm sure many of us, including me, are happy he's back.

For Duplicity
1. We never intended to steal any of his work, just continue it 'spiritually', as we didn't wanna steal any of his hard work. So while it was kind of moot, it also showed we enjoy his work enough to not try and copy, but to be INSPIRED by him to wanna make our own style of game like the one he made. (and now is continuing to make.)
2. I checked almost every day when he was releasing the updates with constant, very constant, delays. i was sad to see him leave, but I'm also very glad to see he has returned.
3. The reason so many people cry out whenever the game update is delayed or he disappeared for a few months, is because the game was THAT GOOD. Look at Call of Duty, that game receives heaps of hate (including a lot from myself), yet it's doing amazingly well. It just shows that he does an amazing job, and when he doesn't live up to that expectation the people have of him, it makes them angry. I myself just wait for the next release without replying, but i can understand why people were angry.
4. there was LOADS of good will toward him before and even now. Hell, this ENTIRE forum labeled 'Breeding Season Legacy Discussion' is about a bunch of like minded people who wanted to see his work continue after he disappeared. Because we enjoyed his work that much. But yea, constructive criticism is fine too. Helps you grow as an artist!

This is just rambling, no need to take it to heart. just left my two cents on the table so you could get some insight as to why I'm here.

@ Sythis_Sythes
Yeah, I didn't mean to imply I thought you guys were stealing his stuff. I read through the thread and it seems most people just wanted to make something based off the idea.
I have the CoC source files, because one day I will be making a game with similar elements. To have access to those classes will allow me to see how things work.
Nothing wrong with looking at other people's code. That is how you learn. Hell Fen is still getting help from people for his coding.

I wasn't talking about the discussion on Hartista's donation on this site. More the anons on his blog. Some simply posting 'dead game', or coming up with convoluted theories on how he stole the money. As if him running off with a couple hundred bucks was so much more likely than him sticking to the game and making much more over the long run.
We know he can code, can draw and can develop. So we only have to worry about his life situation and moral levels.

I'll take your two cents and replace them with my own. Heh with conversion I come out on top!
oh, we don't have one cent coins here anymore.
One thing I have found it really hard is to convey tone in writing. I wish there were fonts just for certain tones.

Not to mention using italics, bolds, and underlines to help further your point across by emphasizing the right words. Really is that helpful some times as well, too! :D

Ans if that's still not sufficent, you might consider learning japanese. Especially in manga, they use fonds to specify utterances in view of tones. Since they normally use this with the syllabic scipt only, you wouldn't even have to study the chinese letters.
