Well that blows. Good luck on ya figuring things out and hopefully you can come back because we don't have a programmer. So far we have an artist and a writer, but no one to program things.

In all honesty, I can possibly be the one to take control over this since, while I don't have any leadership skills and I wasn't really that big in following the original's production, I do like that there's those who want this kind of game happen and their spirit and I do have some ideas of my own that'll help make this happen. I do like the farming sim games and it'll be fun to take this idea to the next level by implementing something new, so I do want to do something to help out those wanting to make this game happen. Plus I have been hanging around her for most of the time, so I really have nothing better to do, so why not give orders to complete random strangers who clearly have more time and talented than I am? If not I can team up with someone else, but if everyone is cool with me taking over I'll be happy to do so.

I agree with ya. If anything, we could make this more like a Harvest Moon/Rune Factory-esque game, only without the RPG elements and more focus on the monsters than the rest of the farm. :P

In a way, you can make a goat monster into a trap, by having a herm symbol but have it say "unknown" since it can be either or due to the genitals being covered up. Plus with how females can look like males and the males producing milk, it could be possible to make something like that. It can work!

ahahaha, just reminds me of Pokemon x when a researcher told me all about genders, how they actually have a gender label for unknown. we could go the Pokemon style route too, but i think someones already doing that, so nah. :P

Man, got my hopes up i'd be able to use this project of a game i really liked and get some really valuable drawing experience for it. Hope this can work out somehow. I don't mind you being the leader, VintageBass, as long as i get cookies on Fridays! :P

Well, i will leave you all to go practice drawing, hopefully something good turns up today too. Also, if someone would be willing to teach me or point me in the right direction, i wouldn't mind being the animator as well.

Well the inspiration of the client board was based on the job board from the PMD games. I figure that it'll be neat to have some kind of random generator board that'll have these clients asking for various creatures, each going up in rank depending on how well you're doing. So having a little Pokemon inspiration wouldn't be too bad.

I missed so many posts in such few time, oh gawd.
Anyway, since there is already some talking whether being a half-assed leadership or landing the leader role to someone else, i guess i'd better leave the spot of it--- perhaps i haven't tried enough, or being too slow as well i can't bring the results others can expect. I learned quite some things by using flash these days but i haven't made it in time by making a visible output. You both look way more active and motivated by me, especially in the last days (or perhaps i am the one becoming a scrub), so why not. As said before i can't be that much of a help because the only things i can be helpful are cheap things with flash and i can't have that much of free time, so i guess i'll quit as well.
GIven the situation, even if Jealousy has quit and there's no programming spot you can continue developing the graphics, yours is amazing Sythis_Sythes, i am quite surprised by your results, especially from the minotaur one. Even if you guys can't pull out features that can only be made of you have high knowledge in flash, people will still appreciate your artwork (well, as a porn game that's the primarily requested feature). Until a new programmer comes here.
I am not a good leader since i was quite absent and i haven't managed to directly create something for the game itself, and i just don't stand the idea of commanding people what to do while not doing nothing for myself, so be it.
Having said this, i wish great luck to both to you. I may be useful here or in the future as another role, although i don't know how and in what way.

Oh come on, please don't leave. At least stick around to see if we actually get this game going and offer some suggestions if we get stuck. Plus we need all the ideas needed to make this game reality.

Really so far there isn't a clear vision as to what the game is going to look like. We know we're making a hentai game that is centered around monster breeding, but the problem is coming up with a clear goal to reach, not to mention someone to program and animate things. With everyone offering their suggestions before, it'll be difficult to compile things together since everyone doesn't share the same vision. Still, we want the same game but what do we want and how are we going to get it? Perhaps I should pitch my version and see if anyone wants to go with that. If they like it, then we can at least build off of that and see where it goes from there.

I really can't stay here, as already said before.

And i guess you don't ideas anymore. Just holding more ideas means having the goal more obfuscated from a concrete realization. Since Sythis_Sythes and you made a lot of progress lately, why don't use your ideas for making the game? Yo don't have to wait for more input, you can already chose which idea to put in the game between yourselves. Start with the small ones and start expanding the game from there.

Aw, sad to see you leave. But yea, that's life.

My life atm is taking a break from drawing, so i can let what i drew sink in, and not just start random drawings that are half-baked. As i said before, i might use some tutorials to try and get a prototype going, but at the moment i'm working so not much that i don't have the free time to both draw and play games. So, i'll take a break and see if anyone is still around when i come back to the game, but i'll still be here on the forums, since i check everyday. (most of the time.)

Oh, and VintageBass, i found the space game you were talking about. He's got some great ideas already in place, though i don't really like the art, it IS placeholder, so he's doing well with it. But for some reason, i like art styles like Breeding Season had for flash games, just seems natural and clean.

I'll keep practicing every now and then, but i won't be flooding this forum with my art every day, probably got annoying. :P

i thought the goal WAS no clear goal, besides making monsters fuck,lmao. Though i guess that's all it's really about for most people, and a good goal to get to; which is, the goal would be to get a working prototype up of the game with monsters actually breeding, then go from there.

and MAYBE the next thing i bring to you will be colored or animated. only time will tell~

Found this and took in some of what you guys were saying. I found breeding season late in the decay ,and i thought about making my own flash game but after playing slave-maker i mentally broke it down on things that annoy me. i Started a little while ago because of some other game projects i had designed. putting them on hold i quickly published the Space game,(the worst you can do is hold off when you say you will start something). Sorry if you dont like my placeholders but im a realist type artist naturally i make things over detailed. i have to tone it down for flash and i just completed my female human base model(with big bouncy or small ridged boobs). Try seeing my game art in the next update (Im trying for before the 31) to see if i improved to your liking. Although im not going to make a complete copy of Breeding it has influenced the game.

Oh and your art is off to a good start, Minotaur is the best, I suggest forcing yourself to make guild lines to help keep and fix proportion early on. some art sites i used in high-schooland now are cghub, cgcooking. and i also suggest drawwing with jazza on youtube for flash tuts.

the guy joining unity, its a great tool. i had fun using it but unless you can find a 3d modeler your games can only go so far. cgcookie also has great unity or blender(open source 3d model engine) tuts. (also speaking from experience making your own engine is alot of work so unless you have months of free time stick with unity.... My programmer rebuilt our engine 5-6 times over 2-3 years before going to university because of lazy programming bugs)- moral programmings a bitch and he made me / i had fun .... learning python, C,C#,JAVA, unities scripting, HTML, and then flash basics all in high school.__ ps they are all the same with slight differences

long winded i know, if i were to sum up what im saying here it would be. Start and chisel, a design starts out ugly and if you an amateur designer your planning process can over complicate your game. Trust me i have many half baked projects that are to big for me to handle right now. Start small and build your ability. (I may sound smug but i know im right from experience.... The great thing is failure builds us)

like it hate it, to me your ppl on the internet, take away whatever help builds you

if u want to work on your space game with unity i can provide you with some 3d models (lowpoly and rigged) for it. I always wanted to make something similan to breeding season but with unity.

I don't remember, how I came to this place, but I stayed because of Breeding Season. Thus I was pretty sad, when Hartista vanished and I was equally happy, when I discovered this thread earlier. I've been playing harvet moon more then half of my life, so long story short: I want in. Is what I'd like to say but sadly I'm most likely the worst artist, that ever showed up in this forum (almost failed 10th grade because of that) and my programming skills are restricted to totally different means. But I can offer my Ideas and I can help in the organization. As soon as something to organize shows up, so the artists and (hopefully) programmer(s) can concentrate on their stuff. Also I migh be able to draw one or two backgrounds with enough time given.

Actually im more of an artist than a programmer. Ive got most of my time in blender. Im going to continue working on the game in flash, but if you can make the models and animations i wouldnt mind doing another game with a similar concept.

with what ive done before i had a programmer(i could barely keep up) so i would only help out, My job was designer, concept art, modeler, story board, and every other detail...... my middle school to highschool life was tutorials and game design
-an obsessive hobby really, between that and anime i had little social life

That said i can program but im not fast, i can create model sheets and concept art.
msg me if you are interested, but having a team works alot better for 3d games.

anyway, i have an idea and some models ready (based on the elf character from Xes Fantasia by Eroquis) that i'm customizing in the spare time.
The game would be a Fantasy where u manage a horde of monsters that you need to breed to different races of humanoids to improve their skills and evolve them(to enslave more powerful races).

hm..... i seem to always contradict myself. At first i take a break, but now i draw again....i guess i'm just a random person is all :P


It's not that i don't like your art, TigerBus, your art is good, it's that, my own preferences on what i think looks good for what I would draw is different. keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to the game. XD

This new drawing i made started out as an idea to make a male minotaur of the female one i made since everyone likes it so much. But instead, my idea went from male minotaur>fox girl> mermaid. How? i don't even know. It just happened.

Hmm...... not too sure about these, i don't like them very much... but i was told to post what i finish, so here it is. :P

Also, if anyone's bothered by me posting art here when the games pretty much died (or seems like it to me) then just let me know, and i'll stop. :P

I'm starting to think I'm over complicating the bodies, since i can't seem to get them to look like most professional games art on flash on here. Though i don't know the ins and outs either, like splitting the body parts up to make them move separately and animate them to make them living things.

on another note, is this project officially dead since no one can help program any of it?

Your art is a little sketchy. try going over them in a single line to help smooth it out. Also to make Animatable body parts just turn each bending part into a graphic or movieclip -- > then just practice how animating.
I notice a few proportion mistakes but other than that a real improvement, taking it the step further should help make it appear more professional.

Well I don't really want the game to die, just be in hiatus for the time being. I really do want to get this thing off of the ground, but at the moment I got a ton of things on my back that I really need to finish some of them before I can focus on this for some time. And really I do have ideas for this project, but I need some time to compile all of them together and put them here for everyone to see (which I can do now, but I'm feeling lazy to do it :P ) But really if we can't get anyone to program, it might be better to put things on hold until we can get someone to help us out and build the engine needed to perform these things.

Really the main idea I have is go for more of a Harvest Moon game that is centered around breeding monsters, where starting off you get the basic farm based monsters for a starting package and then move on to the more exotic creatures for you to breed and sell. Heck I even got an idea about doing a Rune Factory game that has you becoming a manager of a hotel/brothel and all of the monster/people you meet can join you and make money that way. With the latter, it'll be far more easier to do since you're pretty much building an RPG in a farm sim, but considering I have ideas to use custom made sprites with maybe Sythis art being the character profiles whenever they speak.

But I can combine the two series together where we don't have to really focus on the RPG aspect of Rune Factory, just use the fantasy aspect of the series along with the monsters you meet there. ... Actually you can keep that, but that's not the primary focus going into it. I mean since there was that hunter woman from Breeding Season that tested out the cocks of all the monsters, so there is something to look at (where previously mentioned that wild monsters aren't going to be as good as those bought from the store). Yeah exploring and fighting is one major aspect of Rune Factory, but I really don't want that to be the main thing should we go with that, but it'll be useful to have if people want it.

So basically what I see is:

- You're playing as a young breeder coming to a small town famed for its breeding guild that's suffering because of the land's strict laws prohibiting breeding. Unlike most Rune Factory games, you aren't someone with amnesia, just someone to oppose the laws and bring the practice back to full swing.
- Reputation is your double-edged sword in this. While gaining reputation will not only help you earn better deals in buying items and monster, not to mention selling them, but also help or hinder your relationship with other people.
- Building relationships could help you unlock better things, including assistance on your farm to help you out breeding and milking your monsters.
- There will be a monthly fair that you can compete in, allowing you to showcase your breeder or milker in which you can win a prize, either in gold or something really good to help improve your farm.
- Not paying your debt will cost you in various ways, which includes interest to your current debt, repossession of your monsters or items, closing buildings or certain sections, and other handicaps for a certain period of time. Of course missing multiple payments in a row will result in losing your farm and getting a game over, so it's not wise to miss out on a payment.

... Well, there I go showing off ideas. At least that is a pretty basic idea for what we can do if we get someone to help us build the game. If you like it, we can work off of that and build from there.

Yea, i see what you mean TigerBus. I'll try making it look cleaner and fix it even more in terms of proportions. but like i said earlier, these are very quick sketches usually, 45 minutes to complete tops, so adding 15 minutes in there to make it look pretty wouldn't hurt, especially if i learn to animate it later :P Then it'd be capable of just being added to the game when finished!

Love the idea VintageBass, but i think a hybrid game would be a better focus for our first. For one reason, all we could have in the game would become more basic. There is pros for everyone, since the artist doesn't have to create 50 things for 1 instance, and that the programmer doesn't have as big a workload,etc. So making a mixed-hybrid game would be a good start. Also, for wild monster instances, i think making it more like the older Pokemon games would work well, but use sex or something as a submission in place of poke-balls. It would also give you a chance to see more of the main character sex scenes if you want that. :P

Started drawing after i said all this, and i liked it enough i went ahead and cleaned it. still nowhere near perfect, but great looking nonetheless.

Here's a before and after the cleaning, and cleaning took about 15-20 minutes replacing all the lines.

see how that helped you alot. A few suggestions, check out some head tutorials and practice that, What i found to be helpfull is that for an entire week in my sketch book i drew nothing but the human skeleton and then drew muscles over a photo copy. (I had just bought my i wacom intuos when i did this a while ago so i doubled that practice in gimp). if you draw a guild line skull i think your heads would reach a better fit for the body. Specking of the body, It really turned out well on her.

Few days ago, I made my very first post and no one ever reacted. I felt kind of lonely and thought this thread migh have already died, but I'm releaved that this isn't the case.
I like your ideas VintageBass, but I think it may be difficult do create a credible story, where you can make a big breeding business, while it is prohabited by law and persued by the armee... Maybe it would fit better if the setting were in a country, that prohibits it, as before, but the location is an independent caty, that defends its interests with its own troops. And, to be tolerated, it established harsh taxes and such on things, the surrounding country doesn't approve.

My first storyline, considering these thoughts would be like: You don't like the strictness of this country and to live your own life you decide to migrate to that city. Since breeding is allowed there and even customers from the surrounding lands aren't uncommon, you sense the big deal in it. Therefore you purchase a farm to start of and start your business. After one month however, a lawyer from the townshall visits you and informs you abouts a lawsuit. You find out, that you should have bought an expesive licence and get sentenced to an extraordanary high financial penalty. You get your licence includet to that panalty, since your business garanties a good comercial income to the city.
That's it for starters.

Also I thought about the shop issue mentioned before. If the shops inventory would be incresed, it would become unnecessarily unclearly. So it migh be best to split the monster shop into several 'smaller' shops. That would blend with the more harvest moon like game too.
-farm monsters are bought at the 'please insert fittig name here'
-aviary monsters (harpies, gargoyles, dragons, etc) are bought at the castles falconry
-aquatic monsters are bought at ... maybe the fisher(?)
I think the idea is clear

That's it for now. More will be comming, when I'm truely awake and able to express myself properly in foreign toungs.

instead of shops you could just have the inventory have a different set chance by location. ie ocean city shop = low chance land - high chance aquatic.... mountain/high area = low chance water - high chance air creature
