Conventions

Out of curiosity, do any of you tend to go to various conventions that pop up around the world?

I never used to go to them, but went to Auto Assembly this year, and will be going to Eurogamer in Earls Court, London in a couple of weeks. Last year, I also went to MCM, London. I'll probably end up going to AA again next year (if I can get a room that doesn't reek of smoke!), and depending on how EG goes, might end up going there next year, too.

I find it kind of funny that these events are put on and advertised nearly a year in advance as tickets can be smapped up super-fast! I got my tickets for EG about a month ago, but by the time I got them, there were only two, single-day tickets left - all the others had been sold!
One way, or another, I'm going to find you, I'll get you, I'll get you!

When I was in San Diego for the summer, I went to Comic-Con. Had no ticket, just hung around the convention for about an hour.

I never used to go to them, but now that i work at a card game / board game / table top wargaming store, I tend to go to all the local ones to run the store-owned booth. I am working one this weekend actually.

Oh yeah, I'm a massive nerd like that. There's 3 local cons for me I go to: Anime St. Louis, Natsucon, and Archon. Aside from that I got out of town for Anime Central in chicago. I cosplay and all that, the whole deal. It's usually a pretty fun time, just gotta find what your looking for, whatever that may be. Personally I go for the people, you make some pretty cool friends at these things.

Next week, I'm off to Eurogamer for two days. It'll be more for the people than the products as Chiib is supposed to be there.

I am a Chiiblet.
