Nope, It's not okay if you make it exclusively into an .exe format, because not all operating system can read such a format, and I myself am not willing to go to the trouble of boot camping, paralleling, or any other method to run Windows just to play the game. Now if you provided it as an option, then that's okay.

I agree. .exe is a pain to work with. As an option, then that's OK.

It just cant be helped because SWF is expected to die soon. Bad people are pressuring this to happen.
Its the old and common saying that 'It's always the innocent who pay for the sins of the sinners.' And I am myself an innocent in this bothersome case. When we start some project, its fresh and calm in the beginning, and the world appears to be nice and helpful. You are unemployed and alone, but you start to have faith on life again, be you a student, a scientist, a doctor or a wanderer. Months later, you are attacked and more bad people just 'hate you'. You start seeing your game being decompiled and put into sites without emails and comment boxes. You just have to decide what could at least get you well and on peace again, in order to continue. It might be easy to think by your side (the player who just want to see more and more) but its surely A LOT different to think by my side (the developer who is almost a slave, and want to code tons of features, but provided no bad people will steal it even more, as they might not have brains to create their own ideas).
Glad you understand.
Yes, compatible version for unix and mac is possible, but this will be a low priority. This is the case 'THIS or nothing'. I'll upload the first EXE versions soon.
Also, it will make me update the game faster, as I dont need to upload an SWF directly to LOK, which gives me TIMEOUT problems in any browser.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:So does EXE mean we can still play the game on the sites (LOK/AEForum)? I'm kinda confused.

No. EXE needs Windows systems or emulators for linux like WINE. You have to download it to run it. It wont play inside the browser.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:Ah. OK. And when the whole project is done then it'll run IN the browsers, right?

No. No more in browsers!! Forever. You will have to download it.
HOWEVER! I am talking with the team and we might keep the SWF for more time (maybe weeks, months or a year), so I'll return to the same matter later, before the changes.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:OK. Where would I have to download the EXE?
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:MPLDAM9919 Wrote:OK. Where would I have to download the EXE?
In the same places of page 1, in both sites. It could be the in the first lines of this thread.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:OK. Where is the EXE? I don't see it on the front page of this forum?
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:And aren't I still on the team? I do plan to start back up on the scripts again soon.
