Im not sure about anyone else but I don't mind you "bumping" the demo if it means you work on completing the full game, I mean screenshots as teasers are good enough

I appreciate that, I sometimes forget how little of the game's progress filters into the forum. I probably won't do just a sex demo, just due to time, but we are going to do a larger demo that stitches together all the parts and systems in the game and shows a few characters and locations (including a sex scene) because we have to put it all together anyway, lol. But that's still a little ways off. Katsu is back in school and he's the only one who has the know how to get the backend programming set up, but there's still tons if art, animation and writing to do.

I really appreciate the patience and maybe I'll do little weekly updates with screen shots, that's super easy to do, if you don't think it's too much of a tease.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say we just want to see how the game itself is coming along. Demo was amazing, but it was all just dialog. Weekly screenshots would be fine, just want to see how it looks :)

Well don't get too excited, aside from a few sex scenes and minigames per character most of the game is just dialog :P

Just a question: Will the demo contain a sex scene for both genders? I know I push that, but I just don't like playing as guys. xD

@FMC: I'm sure Linn will appreciate your enthusiasm in the next scene :D lol

@Mariotx: We have plot threads that connect each NPC to another NPC so you can play matchmaker and if your RP (relationship points) are high enough with both of them and they are monogomish you can have a threesome and in one case with a polyamourous couple you can end game a relationship with both. This system while easy to work out adds a lot of work, so we are focused on the core game first.

I don't remember if I asked this before, but, at least in these kinds of things, I tend to be more of a submissive. Is there going to be a focus on that / choices to be one or the other, or are they going to have pre-determined paths, so to speak, especially in the sex scenes?

I was just working that out :) the sex scenes are a branching path of actions like the dialog and you can choose to be more summissive doinant or more neutral. If you make only submissive chooses it will lead you into a branch eventually where you have several submissive actions. In that way you can 'teach' the game your preference. Not every NPC likes every play style, so you may begin to loose RP if you go down the wrong path and some encounters may even end prematurely. Dialog in handled in the same way, so you can speak more or less aggressively with some shy options etc.

Oh man, now you're making me want to play the game even more. xD Not enough games have those kinds of options, IMO.

Finally got around to say something about the screenshots.

First: Thank you for sharing them with us. :)

Second, the artwork looks amazing especially for what you call rough sketches.

Third (not about the screenshots): When I read about your plans for the sheer amount of otions and variables you want to implement I got mixed feelings. I'll admit I have absolutely no experience in coding when it comes to flash, but that sounds like a lot of work.
Don't get me wrong, I love the ideas about the game recognizing your preferences for example. But even without the coding aspect this means a tremendous amount of work when it comes to writing the dialogues. And that's just the example I'm most familiar with. I won't even start thinking about probable scene variants as far as graphics are concerned.

OK, by now you're probably asking "what the bloody hell is he going on about?" so I'll try to cut it short(er). You have a comparatively small team for what you are trying to accomplish here. As far as I can tell from what you post here, your pacing yourself, taking your time in order to not burn yourself out (and get this project in accord with the demands of real life). So please keep doing that. Don't overdo it. And if necessary be ready to cut some corners when it comes to the options ingame. Sad as that may seem/sound.

I'm not trying to demotivate you or tell you how to do your game. Nothing would be further from me. I love every single aspect you've shown us so far. And that is strange, considering what I already wrote about me not being a fan of dating sims.

And I just realized I'm rambling and experiencing difficulties expressing what I mean in English.

Well I still hope I got across what I was trying to say. :?

Yes you are absolutely right about the scope of the game, we're trying to keep it realistic while still tring to make to game we want to play. The writing is probably the most time consuming part, the coding is actually somewhat simple: everytime you make a dialogue choice it just adds or subtracts relationship points with that character, the way it "learns" your preferences is just going down a different dialog branch.

A quick example of a pretty complex date with a character might have 30 lines for the NPC, each character has three dates plus some quest stuff and intros so it's roughy 200 lines per character, 16 characters, that's over 3,000 lines of dialog, which seems like a lot (and it is) but we have 3 people writing on it and we already have a good bit written. So the game is not out next week :P

I can't garantee that this game will get finished in just the way we want, but I can say that Katsu and Red have been working on it for over a year, I've been working for around 6 months, Brandon (our new awesomely talented writer) has only been on the project a few weeks, but all of us are still really excited about the project. And we're talking and working on it just about everyday.

This is my first game ever, so I can't say for certain is I'm having a lot of fun working with such friendly talented people ^_^

Wow I’m impressed I remember looking at this thread back when there was only the concept demo and thinking that this will probably end up like so many other projects on so many other sites. A good idea a little work then just abandoned. It makes me so happy to see people with not only passion but dedication.

The sketches and min-game demos have been amazing and a real treat I give my thanks for sharing them with us. I have just one thing to ask though. We have seen a sketch for everyone but Nurse O’hara .Do you think we could get a look at the Scottish bunny?

Oh yeah, i completely forgot, though it's just as well as she changed a bit fro the original sketch and she still might change, lol. This is her in-gmae talk model. Might as well throw in a topless version too and call this the weekly update :)

Thanks for all the kind words of support they keep me going :)

Wow once more I’m impressed with the art of this project.

Have to say I’m very happy to see that you put her in actual nurse’s scrubs and not one of those Halloween costumes. I’m also fond of the little tattoo on her shoulder I’m imagining that there is a story behind it that involves “after the third shot of tequila”.

Now I going to ask about the thing that’s been bugging me that is why are all the cats on the island bald?

Nether Ying, Yang, or even Michael have hair yet all of the feline player avatars have full head of hair.

Lol, yes good call! I just redesigned Felix and gave him hair and I'm doing the same for Ying And Yang. Michelle might stay 'bald' and it fits his pollishied and refined personality. The onlyother character not getting hair is Lisa for obvious reasons :P

Btw, her 'tattoo' is actually the object crosshair from the computer program when I took the screen shot, lol, but I really like the idea and your 'after the third shot of tequila' is great and hints at a more wild past for the gentle and responsible nurse :) I'm using it, thanks!

Thank you I'm happy that you like the idea and are going to use it. Looking forward to see our lovely carrot tops tattoo. And on that note if you ever have writers block or just need an idea you should post it here. Quite a few people would b more than happy to give you their suggestion to help the project along.

So Lisa is the only one to not get hair....dose this mean our lifeguard crocodile is going bay watch?
