I'm a sucker for old anime that was hand drawn over computer animated for it's art. Everything by Hayao Miazaki is just fantastic, I particularly love his work with Isao Takahata on "Grave of the Fireflies". I like to follow the music director Yoko Kanno, because I think her choice of music is fantastic, especially when paired with Shinchiro Watanabe. Here is his stuff ripped from wiki but it definitely isn't everything, also try to avoid some of the American redone stuff, I think it was Disney that completely wrecked "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" by significantly changing the movie by getting rid of scenes and editing dialogue to change the story, theme, and generally everything good about the film.
-The Castle of Cagliostro
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
-Castle in the Sky
-My Neighbor Totoro
-Kiki's Delivery Service
-Only Yesterday

BlueLight Wrote:I remember there was a anime i liked called something like 30 faced thief. It was about this girl whos being poisoned by her in laws and basically this thief that steals a family gem, asks her if she'll come with him. And it's a story about her life living with and chasing this man.
That sound like a reference to Edogawa Rampo or more likely the Glico Morinaga case, which is one of the most interesting things I've ever read about.
