Ivan-Aedler Wrote:Attention. Name of the game will be changed to "He is Missing: Peachy Untold Tale". I will upload this change soon. ALL SAVE GAMES MIGHT BE LOST. its NOT my fault, but just to avoid DMCA notices. This IS NOT a Nitend0 game but people can think it is. So its just to make it clear.
We have a free mind (either a nuclear war cant change this), so, for us, its still Mario and Peach. 'Peach' will be still referenced in the game, but officially, 'He is Missing - Peachy Untold Tale' is the name now. I dont have to reinforce that EVERY art is made from scratch by fans, but the problem is that Nintend0 and 'clean' Mario fans are searching for kid games and our adult parody game is being listed. Thats not good for Nintend0 because its for a familial audience, so I understand. If I am a father, I woudlnt like my kid to find porn games so easily and linked to family-game enterprises. Nintend0 knows that parody games in fact help them (I, myself, bought a WII console and a cartridge those days, and I own a super famicom since years ago, just ask Quiz about this). But we dont want too explicit features linked to this enterprise.

Wow so its a surprise! For sure I'll appreciate it! You're great! For sure I'll check it , I believe in you

Sadly I didn't get to work on it today like I wanted to but something real good happened to me so I am super happy! I know now that I will be able to work on it tomorrow!
Just want to put in that I really dislike what Nintendo is doing about the name thing. I can only assume that you got some sort of warning about it. Especially since you are using 0's in place of o's. (I dislike big corporations though so I am very harsh when things like this happen.)
theblacknphbutnotgay Wrote:nintindo may be turning into square enix and wanna eliminate all things that may be better than theirs... i still remember that guy was remaking chrono trigger in 3d and they made sure he never took another step, all the guy had at the time was a trailer for it looked good
not to mention nintindo's mario is missing was HORRIBLE so it was probably much less popular than this game making people that type it in google get porn lol. pretty cool
FOOTBALL SEASON IS NEAR GO PEYTON MANNING
QuizmasterBos Wrote:Ivan didn't get a warning directly. I checked Newgrounds yesterday and it said that MiM PUT (we can still shorten it, right?) was removed by the moderators. No reason given.
I told Ivan and he got a message from Tom Fulp who stated that they got a complaint from Nintendo, who now suddenly wants all Nintendo-related stuff removed. That is why the game's name has been changed.
I am pretty sure we are safe here though, Nintend0 (doing this just for you, Ivan) just goes to the most popular sites and inputs search commands in the search bar.
They don't scour the internet.
That's why I think Ivan is blowing this a little out of proportion.
QuizmasterBos Wrote:Also, what the heck is wrong with Nintend0 in the past few months? They started becoming ultra protective of their IPs. First they stop people from making money on Let's Plays containing their games (which they reverted), then they ban Super Smash Bros. Melee from being played at this tournament (which they later say was a 'joke'). Now this. It's like their playing a sick joke on us and I don't like it. What happened to good publicity?

VintageBass Wrote:For the name, I do like that it's "Peach's Untold Story" instead of what Ivan suggested because it's a bizarre title. And this is coming from the guy who made two of the most simplistic titles for his fan-fictions (Really it's "A (xxx) Story" in the name... and think xxxHolic on the naming), but I do like the more simple title.

Record? Which meaning? A place with common words? Yes. Thats just because let's say a Beetles cover band is getting more known than Beetles themselves because of a google search. Beetles can issue an YMCA.

Hey, football season! 'He's taken the ball!!! He's running! He's....under 20 guys but he did it!'
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:Yes I change o to 0 just to avoid the name in search results, as MIM is really a tradermark of an educational game (I can admit, I havent finished it yet, but I do have all SMB1,2,3 series and I cant regret them). I never imagined LOK and newgrounds could be someday more...requested and searched than Nintend0 games. Its like we are trying to develop interesting ideas they havent.
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:There are many (MANY!) Mario parody games elsewhere (XXX or not) and Nintend0 can't just remove all of them. Its like you are making The Doors band more known, as you're a fan at heart, then The Doors slapping in your face for no reason. If they do that, parody games will not be a peaceful place for indie attempts anymore, as people can't express themselves anymore. Its like a slavery. You play, say, Halo 3, then you have interesting ideas for an expansion. Halo 3 team doesnt want to recruit you, but you have time and you know coding. You create an interesting MOD, people like it, then Halo 3 team detects that people are more interested in the MOD than their own game. Its like Halo 3 team saying: 'I didnt make a so interesting game but we had profit. But wait. He did a good MOD and free!! He cant! Its OUR game, we have the rights and we need the money. We are the official source. Delete it now!'
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:If this start to happen, I envision strikes on the streets about freedom of speech and ideas. Enterprises MIGHT (not WILL) end up being hated by their own fans.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:The whole situation seems odd to me. Why would Nintend0 want fan made games (E-rated or not) removed? It shows that fans love their games and they can't really do anything about these parody games. I highly doubt they are turning into Square and I'll still play their games not matter what happens.
VintageBass Wrote:YMCA
VintageBass Wrote:The term is "DMCA" ... I think those people are more crazy in their power than some others. Heck, the Beatles are a good example since they (along with AC/DC and others, I think) being one of the few bands with tight holds on their songs.
VintageBass Wrote:And I'm not sure about the record myself. I guess it could be for reaching 400 pages (and shortly 8000 posts), so maybe that's what he's saying.
VintageBass Wrote:(Having more interesting parodies from official games) -> Which is sad because while, as I said above, these good creators will come up with something horrible and a good majority of time the fans will have something better in mind than the companies creating the stuff. Granted everyone will fall into prey into Sturgeon's Law, but at least there is that 10% worth searching.
VintageBass Wrote:If one Mario parody goes, another few takes its place.
VintageBass Wrote:And I think the Halo thing is a bit of a bad thing. Granted I don't own Halo but I know there's plenty of fan-made stuff for the game, so I think Bungie is cool with allowing that sort of thing. Heck I remember seeing contests being made using custom-made courses to win armor. Plus if that's the case, there won't be certain series made as well. Plus I can recall there were mods that become their own full games. It's a weird situation, but I know most companies are fine with mods as long there isn't a profit being made off of them.
VintageBass Wrote:That's a bit of over-exaggeration. Sure there are fans that will complain about not being allow the access to make fan-projects, but to riot in the streets over freedom of speech?
VintageBass Wrote: ... Well to certain people that would be a bad thing to give them that sort of speech, but it's still a little silly to imagine that. Plus there are companies being hated because they're being total dicks to their fans (I can name a few), so this is going on no matter what.
VintageBass Wrote:I'll still give their games a try because perhaps they struck something interesting to me. Why deny fans the right to create support for the company and products they like? It's bad business if you're not allowing your fans to give support through whatever means. Just seeing that someone is making a game of their own should give you motivation to make something new and better than your old product, just to get these fans to keep coming back.
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:And more, Nintend0 can get free resources or their own resources, make a 'Mario: Peach Told Tale', using our ideas and sell it. It will attract fans who loved PUT so far. We fans dont mind. we will actually buy it (again). Now, if they dont make good games, of course people will search for other games. Give food to people and they will crowd. And the interesting (and funny) thing is that we can get games for free, respecting fair use, with tons of levels and features, using collaborative work, without a single penny.
MPLDAM9919 Wrote:To get back on topic, the dress in the X-Naut base is missing. I had to walk around the base nude (not that's a bad thing. But it defeats the choice of walking around clothed or not).
Calpico Wrote:A game where Peach is the main character such as Super Princess Peach? if they make another Peach game, they wouldn't base it on the simple platformer your game is. The only thing that separates it from other games is that it has sexual content in it. if you take that out, it would likely be one of the nicer-looking free platformers.
Calpico Wrote:With free games, most aren't as interesting, pretty, unique, or well-made as the games made by companies
