I'm on it. IrrelevantComment worked up a sweet Marli mini-game, and I just dropped him some art, so that one is nearly done!

What's a Marli? also on the char. creation could you add something to change the color of the feet or add it to the secondary option? I don't know thw kinda seem out place

Lol, Marli is one of the characters, a poodle pop-star. As for the character creation, the only species that doesn't have foot color options are the avians, but we could link that to the secondary color. I'll run that by Katsu and see what he thinks about it. The main reason we didn't was the beak and feet are sort of like 'skin' so it is independent of the feathers, but many birds have different colored beaks and feet.

That out of the way, I have to apologize to all fans of this project - right now, I'm the reason there is not as much progress as there could be, I'm afraid. direct all hate mail directly to me :( But I'm trying to cath up, I promise :)

Don't worry you guys shouldn't apologize most of us know that making games is hard and making good games is even harder, all gamers know it so there is no rush.It's better to make a good game and take half a year for it rather than realising a game full of errors and mistakes in a month

Spent a couple of days working on this to help out. This is one of the minigames, where you stamp photos for Marli. To play it, you click on the picture on top of the stack where you want to stamp. Each photo has a great, good and bad region to stamp, with the great one having no overlap with Marli in the photo. Your ink will run out, so click the ink pad to refill.

Everything was drawn by Goat, I did the programming and made the game. The UI in the top-left is only temporary, that will be improved. If there's any other way it can be improved let me know.

Ok, it's been a while, but don't worry, we're not slacking. Here's a playable demo of sorts. it's not fully complete and there's no menu or innovatory functionality yet, but most of the elements are in place. The finished scenes will not be so linear )I'm still working on the world map.)

Let me know what you think, and I'd be nice to get some feedback on Spike's voice: love it, hate it makes you want to shoot yourself? :lol:

oh, and what the hell, I'll throw in another teaser of a hidden bonus location! (just because Spike might mention it)

you might want to download the swf in order to view it correctly as it's the high res version

Me too I can't hear a thing.AlsoI was wandering when it says wait until sunrise etc. will we just press the option and that's it or will we go back to the map? And something else will some events need a certain time or day to trigger?

Oh sorry, I should have clarified, no sound yet, I was referring to Spike "voice" or the way her dialog is written. I'm not a very good writer so I wasn't sure if it was terrible or not. The spray paint game isn't done yet and that is the end of the demo (also should have been a bit clearer on that)

In the full game moving between locations advances the games clock, so there will be an option to wait, or go back to the world map. You then have to return to the abandoned beach during the right time of day or she will be upset the next time you meet with her.

This demo was just designed to show how the dialog works and how the game will incorporate the mini games (don't worry the next thing I add will be a sexual encounter demo with sound implemented)

Not yet, so we are just posting here when we have something interesting to share. At some point we will open a blog about it, and perhaps a site if progress goes well.

All updates will be posted here until the first official "Demo" is ready and working. Katsu suggested that at that point there may be a blog and a fresh forum topic :)

I hadn't heard of that site, but thanks for showing it to me, it seems like there's lots of related content there :) we're still working out how and where release to game, we'll definitely have some playable version here on LoK, but were not sure where else we're going to distribute it. We have a long way to go before we get there. We're all pretty new to game development (or in my case, this is the first game I've ever worked on!) So if you, ir anyone has any advice it would be most welcome :) As of now we're just really focusing on making the deepest game we're capable of making with our little team.

Ok I know you guys are probably ready for more in game stuff and playable demos, all I can tell you in this week's update it that we are moving along a good pace, but there are lots of things that need to come together before we can begin to knit the parts of the game together.

I'm in the process of building locations and UI, along with character models. I was unhappy with Maggie and felt she just wasn't very appealing, so if you can stomach some more rough concept sketches, here's her redesign now with 50% more badonkadonk :D

EDIT: ok I'm traveling so this is a pretty crappy sketch shot with my phone (colors are not acurite as I only had a few markers with me) but I thought you might like to see the Inti redesign. I felt the ostrich was a little goofy and I changed him to an African hornbill (like zazu from the Lion King :D) and i changed his garb to be a little more North African, a little Moroccan, maybe. Still need final approval from Red on this change though.
