Damn. I actually dialed it back a touch with how preachy Pokemon can get and it still wasn't enough. ^_^ Ah well change of tactics.

I came to the conclusion a while ago that (apart from the battles) this world does not run on the same rules that the original Pokemon does, and any attempt to base decisions on 'how Pokemon works' is all too likely to back-fire horribly.

I actually quite like how it all seems to be working out. Fights play out mostly according to the rules of the games - as long as you use some common sense to cover all the stuff that logically should work but the mechanics don't cover - which means that in-battle I know all the rules and can plan accordingly. Outside of combat, on the other hand, I'm pretty much just working off 'how would real people act here?' - and that makes for a pretty good incentive to try to stay in-character.

So... yeah. TLDR version: kudos for a great RP, Misc. I'm really enjoying it.

Same-type attack bonus, commonly abbreviated as STAB, is a 50% boost to the power of an attack when the attack is the same type as one of the types of the Pokémon using the attack. This results in a 50% increase in damage

for example pidgey has that effect from the moves
tackle
gust
quick attack
wing attack
air slash
hurricane

only works on some moves but it's something to keep in mind if you want it

Awright a new post. Oh, and yeah, thanks for letting the Smokescreen slide. I forgot that Cyndaquil doesn't start with it. It's usually that you usually learn it almost immediately, so yeah. I'd try to handwave it with "It has it as an egg move via breeding", but it can't get it that way.

Hmm... Is it just me or am I a bit alone in this "group event", and with wurmple out I don't have any more tricks up my sleeve...

And I'm not quite sure how to write up two "simultaneous" scenarios. I'm hoping I'm not assuming to much to write off both events (the fight and what Varen is able to do with wurmple/growlithe)

I think you should be fine it looks like the fight with the guy is almost over then you just have to worry about the pokemon battle and from what you have already posted I would say your doing fine

Well first Chris you need to make a character sheet. Look at the first page for examples and the actual format. I think Misc may take you but you might not start straight away depending on whether there is a space available. Welcome to the forums though!

@Nobudi I think it has potential, but for now it's pretty stupid. Although it does give the competitive players something to bitch about seeing as Fairy's gonna be super effective against Dragon types.

Change of plans. My apartment complex towed my car, so I've gotta get that taken care of before doing anything else.

Ooh, today's been a long ass day... One I hope to never have to repeat ever for any reason.

Anyways, yeah, my car was towed at my new apartment. I've been talking to the property manager to get a tag or sticker or whatever the hell else I needed to get for my car so that I can park safely. In the meantime, I parked in the Guest spot in the naive hopes that that would be good enough until this was settled. Obviously it wasn't. And the property manager's office closed before my roommate, whose name is on the lease as of right now, could get off work and I need her to be there to get this sticker, so now I have to wait until Monday at best to get this done since his office isn't open on the weekend. My roommate works on the weekend anyway.

At the very least, I have my car back with minimal financial damage. I just have to park it 30 minutes away to keep it from being towed again.
