Character Sheet
Name: Mizuki "Kal" Draven
Age: 18
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 8 Stones (51 kilograms)
Employment: University Student (Archeology Major)
Appearance: Long silky black hair that comes down to her lower back, Deep blue eyes, she's stands around 5'0" tall. Tends to wear trainers jeans, a tank top underneath a hoodie and an grey Alien mask that she uses to conver her face. The mask seems to be made of a breathable cloth.

Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Mizuki was born into the draven family with a japanese mother and a british farther, making her half and half. Due to this she has an inferiority complex about her mixed blood and her looks, this gave her a distaste for any sort of racism. The Draven Family is an old family with deep roots in the occult as such Mizuki learned a lot about the theory behind magical arts, she also proved to have genius level of intelligence.

As she grew up the boys began to notice her but like most young buys trying to get attention they bullied her and drove her inferiority complex to grow to the point where she now wears an Grey Alien mask because she believes her self to be ugly. This has made her sociably awkward and not many people have actually seen what she looks like under the mask. Though to the worlds standandard her appearance is like that of a super model.

When asked for her name Mizuki always says Kal, this is due to an occultish superstituion that there is power in knowing someones name. This paranoia adds a mystery to her appeal as only her own family knows her real name. Like most people she owns a mobile phone and a laptop but that is as far as she goes with technology as she doesn't truly understand it, she has irrational fear of flying and has to be tranquilised before she will get on a plane, because she doesn't understand how it could be natural for well over a ton of metal to fly.

You want more in the tech department? How about an ex-ninja vigilante with a bit of a Batman-style rep?

Name: Marco Jingami. (uses the alias "Watcher" when doing vigilante work.)
Age: 28.
Appearance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Height: 6 feet. (1.83 m)
Weight: 150 lbs. (68.04 kg)
Employment: Indie game developer by day, vigilante by night.
Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Genetically speaking, Marco is the illegitimate child of Senator Phil Grates' daughter, Teresa Grates, who had been abducted by a syndicate during her foreign relations visit to Mekazikstan, and held for ransom. Marco's father - if one could even qualify the man as a father - was one of the syndicate members, who got bored of merely guarding the hostage, and raped her one day in a fit of sexual frustration. While she indeed hated the man, Marco's mother never faulted the son for his father's sins. Knowing her own father's expected reaction to the baby, she traveled in secret to a monastery, and entrusted Marco to the local clergy. Cliche? Yes...but it was better than chancing things with Mr. Grates...

Fast-forward 18 years, and Marco had grown up in that monastery, instructed thoroughly in their way of life...among other things, as the monastery itself was also a hideout for a clan of secret vigilante ninja. Known as the "Jingami" clan, their methods and technology had evolved with the ages, but the fundamentals remained the same: utilize theatrics and illusion to destabilize the enemy, then swoop in when they are most vulnerable. Marco himself disagreed with how they always killed whatever criminals they hunted down; he believed it was not their place to deal out death and judgment for crimes, especially since they'd do so for something as small as petty theft. The clan's very creed demanded it, though: "All evils, great or small, shall be slain by the Jingami."

Over time, tensions regarding Marco's thoughts on that built up unseen, until one day, when the clan brought back a young man who had been caught stealing from the nearby village's fruit vendor. He had only been doing so because his parents had abandoned him as a child, however; he had no plan to continue thievery once the issue of food-supply was resolved. In spite of that, they still demanded the boy's head for it...and they wanted Marco to be the executioner. From the very beginning, it was clear that this was a test of his loyalty to the clan. However...if this was how they did business...

"I will not."

The harsh, straightforward refusal of his own orders immediately prompted the contempt of the entire clan. Per their own creed, they drew their blades, as "to allow any evil to live is to be poisoned by that evil." The only way Marco was getting out of that place alive was by going through every single one of them...and he did, slicing through the underground chamber's support beams, causing it to cave in and kill what could be presumed was the clan's entirety. Whatever survivors may have escaped besides Marco and the young thief, the hive-mind of the Jingami's informational network - their headmaster - had perished in the rubble. They never caught back up to the dissenter, due to the head start he had in the chaos of the cave-in, as well as various track-covering tricks which they themselves had taught him. Marco Jingami, as well as the young man, were beyond their reach.

Since then, Marco settled down in the city he lives in today, having a house he shares with the young man he saved back at the monastery. That youngster was actually Maxwell Turilli, son of Tarja Turilli, C.E.O. of arms manufacturer Turilli Wares. In the time they had spent in that countryside, however, Turilli Wares had reorganized itself into a more benevolent company, dealing in software development instead of weapons. The weapons parts that they had dismantled were stored in an inconspicuous seaside warehouse, which - thanks to Marco's ex-Jingami skills - was easy to infiltrate, and over time, he and Max had constructed themselves a secret underground stash of equipment, tunneled out from beneath their own house.

Why did Marco and Max tunnel out that stash? Well, as they say, "old habits die hard."

Turns out the city's seedier side had begun to seep out from between the cracks in the wall of news reporters that valued the public's comfort over the actual truth. Muggings at night were becoming more and more common, and the muggers themselves were getting progressively ballsier with how willing they were to kill or abduct their victims after the deed. Assembling various gadgets from the scraps he and Max had gathered, Marco began a secret life as a vigilante, using the alias of "Watcher" alongside a facemask and eyepatch-like viewing lens to mask his true identity. That lens has a number of functions, such as night-vision, infrared, and x-ray; he uses it wisely to spot the muggers in their hiding places, and be ready to spring on them the moment their intentions are made clear. The people he saves are left to think of him as they so choose, whether it is as a silent guardian, a law-ignoring vigilante, or simply...a watcher. The felons he apprehends are usually restrained in some manner, and left somewhere along the city police's standard patrol routes to find, with a small note that reads: "To justice, sincerely, the Watcher." Over time, Marco and Max's two-man nighttime clean-up operations helped keep true peace in the city, and not just a fool's peace held up by truth-bending reporters. To cover their nightly operations in the public, Marco and Max run a small indie game development business. Max adds to the revenue by doing some artwork commissions on the side, as well as having a donation button on their web site. Marco does the more technical stuff in their business, such as programming and level design, which is fitting for his analytical and quiet nature.

When he received the text from S.S.I., Marco already knew something was up. He never entered in such a contest, and only after using the wonders of the Internet could he figure out who they are. This was either the biggest texting blunder he's ever seen, or someone's pulling strings for an ulterior motive...and his money's on the latter. Texting back "Yes" to accept their little proposition, he intends to unravel whatever plot this is from the inside-out. He will find the true motive behind this turn of events, and - when the time is right - he will shut down whatever nefarious operation arises in the truth's revelation.

Personality-wise, Marco's one-word summary would be "quiet." He rarely speaks unless necessary, or if it's with his longtime partner Maxwell. In fact, the only one who can make him leave the house at daytime is Maxwell himself, and it's just for bare necessities, such as grocery shopping. The fact that he is the vigilante "Watcher" has never been discovered, as doing so would both endanger Max's life and his own, and as nice as being regarded as a "hero" by the people may be, police deal with vigilantes in a much different manner. Even if he does achieve the workings of a hero, he'd prefer to remain an unsung one. Besides, the press is a major hassle to deal with, and those camera bulbs flashing would hurt his eyes.

Sounds interesting, especially with the lack of information. It'll be pretty fun to unravel the mysteries :) But since this is a survival will we be able to fight one another?

Holy bio, Zender! I'll be reading that once I've slept, so probably in about 24 hours. XD

Or not, just read it now. Cool backstory! I wonder how your character will evolve as he realizes that the tools SSI is giving him can allow him to pursue justice to a greater degree and scope than ever before?

Fucking. Excellent. FEXCELLENT!
Welcome to Resonance, Zender.
As for you, Reaver. Unfortunately, we are out of room. However, if you'd like, you can go into a reserve list, k? Also, it's just on the occasion of conflicting intrests that they will fight.

As for map, map is shit. Need to go buy newest version on illustrator in the morning.

P.s. Zender: Not to spoil anything, but it's not someone pulling strings.

Oh, and btw everyone, I forgot to mention that I'd also like height, weight, and current employment to the bio, if possible.

Oh no! I've caught the infamous disease of laziness. It appears I won't be done til tomorrow.
Also- that was the longest but most captivating bio I've ever read. *applause* his origins remind me of the movie Ninja Assassin. Was that a source of inspiration or just coincidence? Either way I'm looking forward to the story.

Am I still in, or will I have to simply be on the reserve list? Either way, Update on character:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Chase Simba
Age: 25
Updated Appearance:
[spoiler]A tall, young man with dirty blond hair, violet eyes, and fair skin. His clothing is a dark grey and formal, with silver thread lining. His face is slightly gaunt, with high cheekbones. His hair is of average length, but incredibly unkempt. His body tapers heavily from his broad-ish shoulders to his unusually thin hips, and his thin fingers decry the delicacy required for playing piano.

Updated Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Chase is a quiet man, enjoys singing and dancing the odd waltz, samba, or other formal dance. He also likes listening to others performing, and while he enjoys the little tinkle on each instrument, he is average at best with anything except the piano, with which he is pretty good, and his voice, which is fantastic. He HATES out-of-tune singing or instruments, and such things will immediately break his concentration. Whenever he is in deep thought, he will sing or hum to himself. An avid reader, he is very hard to drag out from a book if he's reading one. Suffering from asthma, heavy dust, pollen and perfume restricts his breathing, although it isn't life-threatening unless they're in conjunction with physical or mental stress.
A major point about him is his inability to perceive pain correctly; he feels stress, annoyance, chills, and other associated physical symptoms when presented with actual pain, and while he still experiences the pain, it isn't at the forefront of his brain, allowing him to ignore it should the need suffice, but surprisingly, is heavily empathetic with both physical pain and emotion.
He generally obeys laws and orders and avoids confrontation due to his greatest fear:
Psychopathy/Sociopathy.
Chase knows that he doesn't mind confrontation, and can fight longer than average for his weak body due to his disregard for pain, and heavily enjoys beating other people in physical confrontation. He knows the thrill one can gain by disregarding laws, and the rush of adrenaline when attempting to fool someone for practically anything.
But he doesn't like feeling like that.
Chase doesn't like the thought that he might lose self control and start fighting someone. He doesn't like the thought of beating someone senseless, because he knows just how badly he COULD hurt someone if he chose. He fears, above anything, taking a life.
Because he knows that he might just enjoy it.

On less personal matters, Chase is an expert poker player. He retains, in his head, the percentage likelihood of victory given various situations in the subset Texas Hold'em, and consistently makes a tidy sum from online or local tournaments. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, he keeps his winnings to 'enough for what he wants', using his winnings to buy himself amenities and high-quality groceries for his cooking, which is one of his major loves. He enjoys the combinations of ingredients and spices, and works full-time at a small restaurant down the road from his small apartment, using the skills he learned from his uncle Michael, a restauranteur back in Melbourne, where Chase used to live.
His main other love is problem solving. Any logic puzzle he can get his hands on, he attempts to solve, especially loving conceptual puzzles with physical applications. This has led him to tinkering with computer programming, although he's entirely inept at the actual languages themselves.

Name sounds good, as for pointers don't worry to much on detail, just get a general outline then work on the detail of a building as you come to need it, >_> this way it's quicker and you only need to flesh out the buildings you need.
