So here is Haunter (Horny).
Actually, I don't like it as much as the (Front)-one. I think I messed up some things, details.
But see for yourself:


She is supposed to be kinda raped by her ghost-hands.

I kind of like these haunter pics, but think when they are colorized it might be cool to use a different color/shade for the hands but to adjust their transparency so that you could see the background behind them. This might require that the hands be placed in front of something to work in the game however. I'm not so sure the transparency would transfer to the flash.

Is it just me, or is it unbelievably enjoyable to learn Pi by heart [is that phrase used correctly?]? These are the 103 decimals I learned so far. Not going to expand it for today.

"By heart" is used right, "Minorities" is used wrong, surprise sex with the Haunter's hands is cool though her face looks manlier than before, and good luck on your exam.

Actually, Flash handles transparency extremely well.
I use PNG images for everything, so alpha channels can be used.
The battle background would show through any translucent areas.

Possible performance improvement

After rewriting my character-display code,
I got to thinking about how the 3D map ran surprisingly fast and I had a brainstorm:
If I tell flash to always render the game at 320x240 no matter how large it's being displayed, it'll run fast no matter what size it is.
So I tried that, and that works!
... but...

This technique has some side-effects:
Everything displays at low-res, and the game cannot detect any mouse-clicks.
So I won't use this trick for this game.


But this code might be useful for someone else who wants their game to run at full-speed when it's scaled up to large sizes, so here's the ActionScript 2 code that does that:
(As always, the code will only work for you if you actually understand it and make any necessary changes)

(Requires Flash 8 Professional or newer)
What it does is it continuously takes snapshots of the game at 320x240 resolution and displays them.
Meanwhile, the actual game itself is hidden to prevent flash from rendering it too.
The result is that Flash only renders and displays the snapshots, but not the movieClip that they're based on.

Why does this work?
There's a difference between what Flash renders and what flash displays.
"Rendering" refers to how many pixels Flash has to calculate and figure out.
"Display" refers to dumping those pixels onto the screen.
It turns out that the thing that mostly slows down flash is the rendering part, not the display part.
When you use the draw() function to take a snapshot, you tell flash to figure out what the pixels would be at the original size, even if you stretch the game window to full-screen.
Meanwhile, if you set a movieClip's _visible variable to false, Flash won't bother rendering it.
My code combines these two things to make Flash render a snapshot instead of the original movieClip.
And that movieClip could contain an entire game.

Also, the reason why mouse-clicks get disabled is because Flash automatically turns off click detection for movieClips when they're not visible. (_visible set to false)
A manually-rendered image won't contain any actual movieClips, just pixels, so clicking on it won't do anything.
Also, setting a movieClip's _alpha to 0 is not the same as setting its _visible to false. Flash will still render movieClips when they're at zero-transparency. _visible turns the rendering itself on or off.
