Starter Pokemon: Vulpix (Female)
Background: She was known to be a bit of a tom-boy that when she found something knew she had never seen before she would have to go investigate. This has led her into more trouble then she can care to rememeber and her parents to almost mental breakdown with worry. One particularly event had seen Kal fal down a hole in a cave where she was trapped for two days, though she did discover a Vulpix down there that seemed to be young and friendly, she named the Vulpix Hope, not for the abstract reason like she hoped it would save her but more along the lines that at the time she was hoping to get some food soon. She eventually was found and Kal had suddenly got the mad idea to become a Pokemon Trainer she used a pokeball she'd been given on Hope and captured the willing Vulpix but discovered very quickly that the vulpix didn't like pokeballs to the point of being permanently out and at her side like a pet. Her parents wouldn't let the naieve Kal set off on her journey till she hit the age of 16.
Other: Been a long time since I've done anything Pokemon so I'm entering this blind... except for what knowledge i have from Pokemon Black as i still play that.

@Blue- The end of my semester is coming up, which means I'll have a lot more free time since I won't have classes or a job. I'll probably be able to handle more people, so go right ahead!

@Ryo- Everything seems to be in order. I'll write you into my next post! Also, don't worry about a lack of Pokemon experience. If you play Black, then you're actually a bit ahead of the curve since this setting is Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald with a bit of Fire Red/Leaf Green thrown in.

@Everyone- I'm going to start mixing technology from newer generations in soon! An argument was made to me that Hoenn would update its technology with newer ones from other regions after a while and I'm just getting around to implementing that. Pokemon from other regions is a bit further off just because they would be unendingly rare and only in Hoenn because someone transported them there and then released it.

@Kura- Shadow's dominance over Samantha. I really don't see how Samantha's dominance over Shadow could possibly raise in the current situation.

Somewhat relevant; there's a pokemon episode in BW where Ash, Cilan, Iris and N end up at a festival starring Kanto in the Unova region, which showed the starters from Kanto, I watched it for two reasons; nostalgia moments involving Ash's Charmander, and Charizard vs Dragonite. ANYWAY, the point is, a 'festival' might be a viable way to introduce certain rarer pokemon into the rp.

... or a better example may be black and white 2, where in the time skip, Pokemon from other generations started appearing in the previously 'new generation only' region of Unova... and having a Liligant or a Mienshao would be awesome.

ALSO, just out of curiosity, with Eevees, if we wanted to evolve them into a Leafeon or Glaceon, how would we do so? Considering Leafeon and Glaceon only evolved near certain types of rocks in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Black/White/2?

I'm already planning to slowly import Pokemon from different regions and the technology that goes with it (like Unova's C-Gear), but this festival idea sounds like it might be a cool way to try it. I'd have to look into it though since I stopped following the show a LONG time ago. As for Leafon or Glaceon... well, right now they're a no go. Those rocks aren't native to Hoenn yet, so I'd need to find a way to bring them in. Team Aqua might be interested in the Ice Rock, but that's about the only thing I can think of to get it in.

I think it was episode 117 of Best Wishes or something. I'm sad they replaced Brock with Cilan, whilst he's funny... I miss Brock hitting on everything that moves.

and, well, in Pokemon XD the sailor did give you stones which could evolve your Eevee into even Espeon and Umbreon despite their normal evolution methods, so maybe we could do something similar? *keeps throwing ideas off the top of my head at Misc*

I think I'll stick with Espeon and Umbreon's usual methods of evolution since that isn't all that difficult to accomplish as long as you aren't a total asshole to your Pokemon. Well, Umbreon might be since I haven't transitioned to night even once through this whole RP. Might need to fix that since there are Pokemon who only show up at night...

Oh... I meant as a possible way to obtain a Glaceon/Leafeon lol (mentioned Espeon and Umbreon because XD didn't have a day/night system). Though considering how small the evolutionary stones are, I reckon it'd be safe to say that shards of the rocks could evolve them, and with the fact that there's clearly more than one of them.

.w. also, Go-Goggles are needed to enter the desert right?

OH, I get what ya meant now. Yeah, I think I can turn Ice Rock and Moss Rock into Stones and import those. Or, hell, I don't see why you can't use a Leaf Stone on an Eevee and get a Leafeon. And while I'm thinking about Stones, a Sun Stone can evolve an Eevee into an Espeon and a Moon Stone turns it into an Umbreon. Then I just import an Ice Stone and that covers all of Eevee's bases.

And yes, you need some Go-Goggles to get through the desert. Between Mauville and Lavaridge, it isn't necessary, but between Lavaridge and Fallarbor Town, you'd either need some Go-Goggles or you'd have to take the Fiery Path

damn it I want an eevee wahhhh how about a random trainer willing to trade you his or her eevee for a pokemon they want more? that did happen in the game did it not? I remember somone wanting a love disc or something and giving me something in return.

Hey, Misc, what exactly is the 'normal' level of damage for a trainer's Pokemon to take in battle in this RP? Nurse Joy's apparently been somewhat unimpressed with both her recent visitors, but from what I can see they'd both have fallen in the normal range for a hard-fought victory in the games* - and well short of a serious defeat, since none of them were unconscious.

It looks like either the standard you're setting is different from the games, or this Nurse Joy is particularly fanatical about Pokemon welfare - just wondering which one it is.

*From what I remember the anime wasn't drastically different, but it's been a long time since I watched it.
