napsii Wrote:Evangelion (both the original series and the Rebuild stuff) and really any Miyazaki films are all amazing anime. Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke are my two favorites.

Fairy Tail is also really entertaining, and the Rurouni Kenshin anime is really good until it starts to deviate from the plot of the manga (it just becomes "decent" at that point -- still entertaining but not as good as the manga plot, in my opinion.)

Yeah the Miyazaki films are my favourite as well. However, I have only seen a short list of them, and Princess Mononoke isn't in that list :|

I think that's his best work, though most people say ponyo. I liked ponyo as a kid love story/fairy tail, but Mononoke just holds up better as a story.

I went to go see Ponyo when it got released in cinemas in the UK, and I felt it was alright, but it didn't do better than his classics. Ponyo got really repetitive near the middle which put me off for a while.

Anything that's from 90's is for the most part going to be so bad it's good or just plain good; if you ask me.

Trigun is a old time fav of mine.
Hellsing is a old time fav of mine.
Hellsing OVA is a fav i thought but i recently got the BlueRay edition and have to say it's either sucker, more confusing, and/or different from how i remember. I'm watching the first episode and has scene in different order than i remember,

Cow boy beep bop (not sure if i got the name right) is a old classic; i enjoyed what i watched of it and everyone i hear talk about it, loves it.

Guyver bioboosted armor, i was watching this with my step mom... and now i know why i watch anime alone. I don't want the crap i watch to be judge even if i kinda considered it to be crap. Anyways i love this anime but i realized because of this anime that i have a lower standard for what good writing is. More like anime is a guilty pleasure even if it's mildly bad. Anyways guyver i love and i love the over arching over story.

... tons of anime

One of the few good things to come from the Far East... And without it, this forum wouldn't exist. Let us all take a few moments of our time to praise it's awesomeness, which in turn created everything.

You managed to get me to at least skim through my archive despite it being past 2 o'clock in the morning around here. There were four titles that caught my eye immediately.

So I'll just throw them at you before wandering off to sleep.

Jin-Roh (Or Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade). This is not something you should watch if you're (just) looking for a good time. The film is by far too dark for that.

"Origin - Spirits of the Past" and "Wonderful Days" (Sametimes listed under Sky Blue). Those two are somewhere in between the the first and the last when it comes to the "grim and gritty" factor (or the absence of humor). Still adressing serious topics (ecological questions and morality decisions).

The last one is mostly for fun in my book: Howl's Moving Castle. I'm aware it still adresses some interesting issues - actually no less serious topics than the other three - but a lot of the movie is simply amusing to watch along the way.

Edit: Just re-read my post and realised this is a prime example of "why i shoud NOT write posts at half past two in the morning". I'm sorry. :?

Oh, if we're talking of Hayao Miyazaki's films, most of them have Disney/Pixar English dubs. Highest on my list are Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, though I've watched all but Porko Rosso at least once.

Now I know Howl's moving Castle is a good one, that and Spirited away, as I have them both, but rather sadly, I haven't seen Porko Rosso *gasp* but now I can (Yay!)

Aoi Sekai no Chushin de is an ongoing anime that is based of the old war between Nintendo and Sega.
Almost every character in the anime is based of an Nintendo or sega game, the good guys are the Segua (Sega) and the bad guys are Ninteldo (Nintendo).
It's awesome.
Also Tetris is a character in it.

I can imagine some of the reviews for that.
Really? Tetris? -_-

Well blue, (i dont watch anime so I dont know how closely it follows the manga) Mushi are supernatural germs that are very closely related to death. I remember 1 is a manifestion o fdreams and it sucks the very life out of you, and another that lives in your ears and eats sound, which eventually drives the person to madness. So you're actually very close.

If this is still going then..Brace for impact since an otaku will come with a list!
ANIMES that aren't totally like Naruto:
Death Note - This anime is a total killer, one of the very first anime I've watched and read as a manga.
Eyeshield 21 - This, if you like sports and american football, is a good anime. I've done a quick run with it and finished it in three days.
Ghost Hunt - Uh..Prepare to piss your pants? No really, this is a good anime with a good plot..That's is, if you enjoy watching 'horror' animes.
Detective Conan - THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS and THIS! Full of mysteries and cases, I've got mind-fuck when I first watched this, and when I first read this. Worth watching, Worth reading.
One Piece - If you don't mind things that are a bit of mainstream-y.
K-ON - A bit of musical here...
MANGAS/MANHWA:
Noblesse - Out right awesome, both comedy and action-y. You should really consider reading this.
Detective Conan - Read the same text from above.
Death Note - ^^^^^^^^^^
King of Hell - This is a funny one with a bit of action in it. Fun to read, really...
Gantz - No more desc.
Anyways, if you're not solved from the list I gave you...Visit Fakku.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is amazing.

Little Spoiler of how amazing it is.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The anime ends with a movie, and in this movie you can say that universes where thrown... literally.

If you're referring to the second picture Rocksora, the main character often looks sarcastically bummed out. And I saw that Faye Valentine game too, had many funs with it. Series is pretty good too by the by.
