just putting it out there, I found a new game. It's called Warframe and it is awesome.
I often find myself thinking that most people are utter shite. I try to be positive and prove myself wrong. So far I've yet to succeed in doing so.

If you have the rig to run it I would recommend getting Planetside2. It is VERY CPU intensive but it is F2P.

*EDIT* didnt notice how many posts were about PS2 lol

Yeah, Planetside 2 requires some serious hardware. Sadly, my comp can't run it well; I get 30 FPS on medium settings. :(

I honestly miss the old DarkReign days....Imperium and FreedomGuard battling it out on a dying planet while the native relegious Tograns are caught in the crossfire....*sighs*

Not completely sure if this has been posted already, but Bioshock: Infinite is a great game, it's about $60 but well worth it. I beat it this morning and I'm telling you that the world the developers put you in is amazing. Or, you know, you could find it floating around the interwebs for free, but then that's not being very honest is it?

If you like military shooters you should get the Arma 3 Alpha off steam (it's awesome!). It's basically a very realistic military sandbox game.

I don't know if someone knows this game or not, but in my opinion it's a good game that has a good story. But it's somewhat old, anyways, 'Vampires: The Masquerade Bloodlines' is a good game. You choose one of the seven clans, you can be a clan that excels in fighting wildly; And can even turn into something that resembles a werewolf, OR you can be a clan that can use mind-control. Nevertheless, it is a good game that's worth mentioning.

Hmmm, Roleplay games and Stratergy are my thing, i played Vampires: The Masquerade Bloodlines, but it wasn't as good as the original in my own opinion. But anything that let's me mod the game, i guess if you looking at things from the perspective like Bloodlines then it has to be fallout/Elderscrolls games, even when i eventually finish them i have so much more to do as i don't think I've ever played a vanilla version of these games, and when you find SexOut and loverslabs then you learn all about the sex mods you can get for the bethedasoft games.

honestly i think the content of gw2 is much more than it first seems because they will release more of the world "Tyria" as the patches continue. THey will also have living stories in which events will unfold that will perhaps be a foreshadowing of what is happening instead of just giving a patch and dropping you into a new place.
The stat balancing is also pretty good. The only problem is that when a lower level goes to a higher level their level does not get boosted. The only things that our levels get boosted in is WvW and PvP. Otherwise when you reach a higher level your level gets dropped

Interesting enough, I was like you in the past. I liked Command & Conquer (version 1, with the beige tanks - GDI, with people taking 'afirmatiff!') tons of older DOS games like Flashback, and Heroes II / Heroes III and Heroes V (I didnt like Heroes IV). Heroes 2 is nice and it one of those games you can't buy (if you can, tell me). I know there is a Heroes2 version for windows. Civilization 2 and 5 is also really nice (but not free).

There is SCUMM VM, a program who loads old DOS RPG/adventure ones, like Indiana Jones, Beneath of Steel Sky (there is a newer version for the Iphone, this is not free), Sam & Max, The Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island. You can even select other languages for them and use graphic improvements like '2XSAI' and 'SuperEagle'. These are technically freeware, but not newer versions like Monkey Island 1 and 2 for Windows, using a totally revamped graphics. But interesting enough, It lost its magic (for me), because you dont have all those buttons (GIVE, OPEN, PULL, TALK) anymore.
And of course, there are emulators of Sega, NeoGeo, SNES, etc (for PC). They're not technically free, but as we live in the XBOX/PS3/WII era, older consoles are not much of a concern. Anyway , I own a SNES anyway, and I still enjoy some of its games ;)

As for more adventure games, there is one FREEWARE, and even with some XXX. The name is 'Second Face'. I enjoyed it. There is also OOO (Out of Order). Its' non XXX but a complete adventure game (point and click). Its also freeware.

Duke3d is now freeware (with source code!) But I'm not too fond of shooters anymore.

Most of commercial games that is now Freeware can be found in the WIKIPEDIA:

Another game suggestion: TERRARIA/MINECRAFT.

Recently came across a fan-made game using Source Engine SDK 2007 called Void (Yogscat video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5CirAhlu2k) Such a cool concept. Be warned, this game WILL NOT work if you don't have Steam installed.

Void is indeed a good game, very strange too but worth the time to play.
