Ivan-Aedler Wrote:Darthan Wrote:I would also once again like to ask. Why is this even necessary, and how does it even make sense in the context of the game? The game you are making is a platformer but you are now trying to add elements from the RPG to the game. In a platformer the object it to avoid or defeat enemies while trying to reach the goal, you either avoid them or take damage, in this game it is avoid or get sexed. I really see no reason to change that to avoid, get a chance to escape, or get sexed. It doesn't make any sense to me.
The kiss addon is actually just a way to make Peach cutier, and for people who like it. Of course you can ignore this. Its a side feature, really.
coolness32 Wrote:The only reason I ever thought of the kiss mechanic was because I thought that there was going to be normal, non-boss enemies that would take Peach's virginity without having previous scenes occur. Since that doesn't seem to something that is going to happen, I think the kiss can be implemented and just not have any sort of effect. Just have it be extra scenes that the player can initiate.
Darthan Wrote:This sounds like a good idea. There really is no reason to add kissing as an escape mechanic, but using it to access different scenes, more tender scenes maybe, sounds like an interesting idea.

But this will require even more work on scenes. (actually, due to the modernity of coding, its not hard per se, besides, I can just create ONE teasing / kissing scene for each enemy type).
The problem is, there are people who dont want to see Peach actually kissing the enemy on the cheeks/mouth (if they have one) , so I planned to make the animation of her kissing at a close distance, then a big heart will protect her and stun the enemy, stopping the scene. Then, 1 heart used (2 remaining). And again, after finishing the level, the remaining hearts should be the same (no refresh!) Peach will need to search for more toads/friends.
Anyway, I can just put the mechanic I envision in the game and see the reacion. Only testing will say, this is the key answer.
Remember: There are levels with 10 and more enemies. And the avoidment wont kill them, but stun them.

Toyloli Wrote:The issues
Toyloli Wrote:Ivan's original concept for this game was to make a fully functional Mario clone, based around the premise peach having sex (an extension of the original.)
Toyloli Wrote:Peach collects these 'hearts' from her friends. These friends are only Toads, or NPC's who the character trusts. These hearts likely do not have to rely entirely on kisses, some can be earned by performing tasks. ie; characters like Tess and Toads worth can repeatedly put out hearts if Peach is able to get to him, but others can only put one heart out full stop.
Toyloli Wrote:Uke: Uke scenes are ones where peach is submissive to the Enemy, they are driving the scene and doing what they want.
The bad boy has caught Peach, forces himself on Peach, does what HE (or whatever gender the enemy is) wants!
Seme: Seme scenes peach is in charge.
Toyloli Wrote:Peach is using a spell to make the Enemy do what she wants. We would need to design a look for this. I like the idea of using the scepter, but as Ivan has pointed out she doesn't have it, so most likely the animations would just show her using her charm.
Toyloli Wrote:In both of the above cases, the scenes would progress based on how horny she is, and we could even discuss seme scenes stopping working after she becomes a whore (regardless of virginity level) or in higher levels with enemies that are much nastier.
Toyloli Wrote:with certain enemies hearts will only work if the scepter is in the inventory.
Toyloli Wrote:In regards to kissing. I personally don't have much concern about peach kissing enemies, but as Ivan has pointed out the kind of kissing we refer to when we say that is an "Oh dear, you look exhausted. Thankyou for being nice!" followed by a platonic kiss on the cheek, forehead, whatever.

I dunno what it is. To my eyes what you are describing seams more complicated than what I suggest. I think this is why so many people debate you. But you seam to have your eyes set on the way you describe. I dunno, maybe everyone else is seeing it different to how you see it, but the way we seam to see seams, maybe, to be simpler.I guess, at this point, the method seams set. From what you say. I hope it doesn't turn out as bad as some suspect. I have faith in you, obiwan Kinobi. Your.... wait that's the wrong meme
Ivan-Aedler Wrote:Hmm maybe just a misinterpretation, then. I'm enthusiastic about the features, this is true, and I try to compare what I have here (knowledge, code) with the features that could be added in a way we can see them earlier and with quality.
Toyloli Wrote:Yeah, the main concern from your audience seams to be that players will have to lean a 'New Mechanic' to play the game. Something that is not compatible with the existing gameplay for this game so far. That is what everyone is getting aggrovated about.

They dont have to learn if they dont want to. The game will be the same. A thing is ADD. Another thing is REPLACE.
Its like playing a huge game (SMRPG?) and discover new things in new game matches. This is actually good, interesting, involving.

QuizmasterBos Wrote:I don't think we should have mechanics in this game that need to be learned. If the kissing thing turns out to be complicated and complex, then I'd vote for dropping it altogether. Best to keep the game as simple as possible.
