sry to ruin your day, but gorepete ''quit'' programming on his free time not long ago D:
I often find myself thinking that most people are utter shite. I try to be positive and prove myself wrong. So far I've yet to succeed in doing so.
On the otherhand: I know a few of the actually great people out there and that makes me happy enough.

Lurker here, been lurking for about two or three months, thought I would jump in because my life is like a stagnant pool. My major skills are being a math nerd and being grammatically correct with correct spelling. My minor skills being I know how to code in java, I plan to learn flash, c++, c#, and more later. Other minor skills include being able to draw and being skilled at troubleshooting issues with computers.

On another note, while i did say I am able to draw, stuff I draw from scratch wont look as good as if I were to draw freehand based on something. I do plan on posting some of my artwork.

I've been lurking for a long time and thought I'd finely introduce myself. I joined the site because I needed an outlet for that other part of me I keep hidden from others in my life. I love to write and RP but haven't in such a long time, so I might be a bit rusty. But yeah, hope to meet others with similar interests on here.

Maybe over a bit of Minecraft? It's funny because Minecraft is made in Java. Joking aside, if heard of a Minecraft server, and i *THINK* your the one to ask about that.
But seriously, an actual game out of java, my god....I will always ask myself why would Notch do this.

I made one as well, for four years. Java is surprisingly good for open-sourcing and modifiability.. Especially cool if you want to harness any science student forced to learn C++.

Yea, i know Java for its open-source, easy accessibility, and it being easy to get the job done, but its a bit to bulky for a game like Minecraft if you ask me, maybe we should bring this conversation somewhere else though...I don't know if I can start threads yet, I doubt I can since I can't PM, and if I cant, I would like somebody to make a thread, "Coding languages' applications, attributes, and so forth." Which will be used to discuss things like this.

That's not what I meant, I meant that the projects you make in it can readily be adapted by anyone with C++ knowledge. You can also optimize how you run a java program with classes and the like, something optifine does to minecraft.

well, C++ is a harder language by far to java, so i can understand why. I've barely touched the surface of c++ and knew i would find some hardships in learning it.
