riddlebox1321 Wrote:Possible solution to over powered consumables; you could make it so there's a gender reaction similar to that of breeding and have consumables only be consumed by the opposite sex...
Could you add monsters that can only be obtained by breeding two specific species? Kind of like Dragon Warrior monsters. Ex. a malboro and a harpy has a chance of making a demon, a catgirl and a dickwolf has a chance of making a foxgirl... etc.

That would make it a different effect altogether (which may not be a bad thing).

It just the cat and wolf consumables are currently too powerful and need to be toned down a little; like the extra harvest/breed or feed effect only occurs once a day instead of once a feeding. Or make the effect itself a rare occurrence.

As for the save file, I made it in (admittedly) the laziest way possible but I personally think it's serviceable and doesn't require me to put too much effort into writing save and load methods for every new thing I add. All of my objects are implementing IExternalizable and therefore serialize without much effort on my part, and I just stuff the entire GameState object into the SharedObject. Eventually once the game gets closer to completion and less is changing I'll be able to make save files work between releases, but honestly right now I don't really want them to.

As for the XML: this shows up because I've put all the monster definitions and dialogue into XML files for easy editing while I'm working on them, and potential mod-ability later. The reason they show up in the save file is because the GameState is storing them in an XML object.

Yeah, and gotta bug report for you involving saving: It seems to work okay as long as you don't end a session with whatever you're using to play it= i.e. browser. standalone player - but if you save and quit out of whatever you were using to play it and later try to resume, it almost always complains about not finding a valid save file, necessitating a restart from scratch. This is on OS X, Linux and XP, both standalone and in the browser.

Yes yes, this is known and he said he's working on a fix.

Hartista, maybe update the main post with current known bugs?

OK so I found a glitch. It happened when I bred two monsters and got a new offspring but said monster had hit the max limit. I was like well I guess I need to release one so I went in and looked but found one of the monsters had met the requirements for a client order so I was like hey cool so I went and sold it off but after I did, I got duplicates of every monster I owned and they could be sold off as separate monsters until the duplicates were gone. I tried this several times in a new game and every time I hit the max amount of monsters and I get a new offspring of said monster and sold one off I got duplicate monsters. Not sure how many duplicates since I didn't count. Happened every time I did it with a 100% success rate (was able to get a lot of gil really fast though ;) ). The only thing that can't be done with them is have them breed/harvested as separate monsters but you can sell the same monster a few times over until the duplicates are gone.

Also I notice after you harvest the Dickwolf at the end scene of the harvest when he is cumming into the bucket and the animation finishes the sound repeats after you close out of the window.

I also still think it would be a neat idea if the breeder lady could get impregnated by a monster and possibly throw a super ultra rare monster that had maybe a 1/200 chance of occurring.

^_^ Let the dude makin this game make the decisions dude!
I'm pretty sure they've already said there will be futa options, and that humanoids will be female or futa, animals and monsters male.

I just hope he finds the saving/loading problem soon. I really don't care what he puts into the game overall as it seems he has a pretty good direction going on his own.

Was this intentional? A monster with multiple Geysers makes an extra consumable for each Geyser. Do all traits compound like that?

I think so right now. I'm not sure if it's intentional.

Hopefully, this'll be viewable it's a .tiff file (sorry, I'm a mac ;) )

Seems to be the biggest accomplishment in the game thus far. Can anyone beat my time?

Bugs Found: While it seems that you got the hotkeys disabled for windows 'under' the current window, you haven't done the same for the actual buttons on the screen.

Ex: Going to town and the monster shop, can still leave town (with the button) while on the monster selection screen.
Ex2: Can click on the harvest button (again) with the 'You've harvest a consumible' message still on the screen.

Also ran into another Client bug: Unable to sell a monster despite fulfilling the requirements, only noticeable difference compared to other requests is a visable extra spacing between stat requirements and the monster type requirements.

Here's a pic (again a .tiff, sorry); Was trying to sell to the gold client.

It took you two months? I had a Dickwolf at all 1000's on 1/20 after I knew there was a save issue, but before I tested it playing on desktop. I raised it specifically to deal with your next bug (the client won't take your monster even though you meet all the requirements).

I can confirm that this is a bug where the gold buyer just won't accept any monsters (mine was all stats over 600, a couple of stats over 900, and anything but a Harpy). I first had a Catgirl that met the requirements, then the aforementioned Dickwolf, then the aforementioned Dickwolf after getting all of its stats to 1000, then a Butt Stallion, then a Harpy just because. Nothing worked.

And I hope the save issue gets fixed soon. ;_; I'm jonesin' here, but I don't want to play if I can't save my progress.

Um, the pic he posted was to show he had both a fully positive breed modifier monster and a fully negative breed modifier monster, derp. Maxing stats is cake.

And it's not really fair to try to go by time as it's a complete crap shoot. You can do everything right and still may be unlucky. I never try for full negatives but I've had full positives by early in the second month, other times it takes 4 months or more. Negatives is easy anyways isn't it? Just breed a cruel monster with a maxed positive.

No save fix yet, daw.

Alittle feedback from myself, Though I'm sure this will be implemented in the actual game...

Second time I played the game I got the Harpy Pen & 1 Dickwolf to start off... Hoping to make more.
However I was alittle sad that, even at a reduced chance, you couldn't Breed with him yourself *^^*
That'd add a nice little kink to the game... If normal breeding is 1/10, perhaps make it 1/20 or some such... But still have a small chance of Breeding with your character.
(As I said I imagine it'll be introduced in the main game but just something I wanted to mention).

Obviously the animations are still very early but I do hope there will be cum animations, love how the Butt Stallions stretch the females so I hope he gets a cum animation to swell their bellys up all shiny and pregnant with cum <3 Just.. for example ^^; (Love your art style).

Really really really can't wait for the "Yaoi" animations too... Dickwolf on Dickwolf, Butt Stallion on Dickwolf, etc... Gotta show them who's Alpha after all <3 <3 <3
Could also add in some fun items like Dildo's/Strap-ons to increase breeding stats with the Breeder character, or help Harvest (/w new animations etc).
Look forwards to more shops and hopefully things to do inside your house besides sleep in later editions.

Sorry if this has all been said, I'm just gushing since Really love the game. Heck, I made an account just to reply! Really fantastic work.
Please keep it up and best of luck with the Project.

P.S. An interesting thing to add much later down the line once you've finished the game, is probably an add-on where you can go out into the wilds to find and capture new Beasts, take 1-2 of your favorite Monsters with you and either battle them into submission or fuck them into submission. (Obviously loosing resulting in you getting pounded raw and being unconscious for afew days~). Can only imagine how hard that might be to code ^^; but just an idea.

The gold client is actually asking for a monster with a specific trait, it's just not displaying correctly :P.

Sorry for no save fix yet, I've been busy. The rate of updates will be slow for a while.

True about the crap shoot, I wasn't being serious about the challenge. It's just about the most challenging thing in the game to do (currently). As far as I know, I was the only one interested in accomplishing it and finally did.

Negatives are a little slower than positives. 1) In current version, you HAVE to get a cruel monster since no monsters naturally get -wil or -fer. 2) The negatives will hit your all positive, requiring you to spend time just to get the positives stats back up (unless No Downsides or Gentle is involved) 3) Had to make sure my cruel and all positive were opposite genders; Kinda pointless when they started as both Catgirls. Took a while to breed a cruel DickWolf.

Just recalled an idea to make things a little more interesting. Limit traits to certain breed so you have to breed them into the other breeds.

Ex: Catgirls could be the only ones the naturally have 'Gentle'. If I want to Harpie to have Gentle, I first have to get a Wolf or Stallion to mate and inherit from a Catgirl and then mate that male with a Harpie. Adds a little more challenge to it (especially if client want the monster with a particular trait). Adds another reason to expand the ranch too; currently no real reason to get harpies or stallions unless you feel like it.
