The Imperial Guardsman Uplifting Primer

Postby Thaedael » Fri Nov 30, 2012 6:49 am

A good soldier obeys without question. A good officer commands without doubt.

quoting from the Tactica Imperium

-Must know 40k enough as to be in character
Edit - If you do not know a lot, feel free to post in here and I can give you a quick primer in everything. Worked for GW for 4 years, then as regional manager for 2 years, all during highschool, and then 2 years with Relic during the DoWI/DoWII development.

Primer http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page#.ULhXbqxX28E

-Must know to post more than one liners
-Must be willing to die for the emperor.
-If you want to be more than a guardsmen, say it early, though you will be introduced later
-May be stalled at any moments do to exams/family.

What is your favorite guard faction?
I want you all to be standard guardsmen, who knows where the plot will take you.

It'd be cool to be a Commissar, those who are cowards or traitors shall be shot. Not one step back, Guardsmen, show your courage in the name of the Emperor!

As for my favorite group of Guardsmen, the Brave and Loyal Cadians.

Steel legion is the army I play in 40k. They are pretty cool, that being said, thank you for volunteering for the mechanized conscript platoon. I am cool with cadians btw. As for commissars do you even know much about them?

They are political Officers, sent at a young age to the Schola Progenium where they are chosen to become Cadet Commissars, they are trained in Commissar Training Squads and are deployed as Cadet Commissars under the leadership of full-fledged Commissars, with standard issue Guardsmen weapons and armor. When he is proven Worthy, he becomes a Junior Commissar and given command of a small unit.

A Full-Fledged Commissar is responsible for raising the Morale of his men, killing those that are cowards or traitors to the Emperor.

I'll be learning more before this game starts, but I like reading from This

1d4 Chan is fun and all but for cited works Lexicanum has no equal. Everything is right except that to be admitted to the schola progenium, you have to be an orphan from someone who died in honorable service to the imperium and the god emperor of mankind

That is the Cadian's jobs. They do defend against the Eye of Terror, the front line defense against it and their cities are practically chokepoints.

All this talk about 40k made me buy dawn of war II again. Good to know nids are still the best, that chaos is still silly, and that my marine tactic 8 months later has never been countered. Down side? No longer on my bros account so have to work my way all the way up to rank 60 in all races again -.-.

Cadians? Catachans? Everyone knows that the lightning warfare employed by the Tallarn Desert Raiders is where it's at!

Did you know that Tallarn used to be a lush world before getting virus-bombed by, I think, the Iron Legion, is the site of one of the largest tank battles of all time, and contains a Chaos Gate artefact?

Krieg used to look beautiful too, know the difference?

One Regiment is badass, loves dying for the Emperor, and are great at Siege Warfare. The other are the Tallarn.

Seems everyone has their own favored regiment, Death Korps of Krieg for me. Maybe you should make some giant clusterfuck battle where different guardsmen could pool together? I'm fine with any regiment though if it just makes things easier.

When you say "Badass", read "dumb enough to nuke their own world several times over, and have a near 100% conscription rating because they're a bit too zealous" :P
