As I believe, "gh" has to preceeded an "ou" in order to make the "f" sound. At the begining of a word, you would use "ph" instead
"o" is just "o", I don't pronounce it Wimen, that's just people saying it too fast, or accents making it sound like wi instead of wo
"tion" makes it's own sound "shun", breaking up the letters changes how they would properly be pronounced.

Now I could be wrong, but my school system (which I haven't been in for a while) thought me something like this.
