Anyone good with Internet stuff?

I need some help. My internet suddenly shut down last night at around 3. I've been trying all today to get it back up. Its seems to be something with my DNS server not responding. I've tried resetting my router but that doesnt work either. Right now I'm running an ASUS RT-N56U with Verizon as an internet provider. If anyone could help me out that would be awesome! If you need more info please ask.

I'm not a computer wiz so if I have trouble finding things please bear with me.

And no I will not call my service provider because they are retarded...really they never help at all

Pinging 8.8.8.8 will give you information about whether you have a functioning internet connection.

I don't really know how to resolve DNS issues, so I couldn't guide you there.

One thing I'd suggest is first power cycling your router, then logging in to your router and saving the settings.

I just call my service provider and tell them to fix their shit.

Believe it or not, most of the time it's on their end.

Yea I guess I'll call them if my last choice doesnt work.

Whats a good router/modem to use? My internet is shit and can only run fast if one device is in use but slows dont so much if another one starts being used. Any tips would be appreciated.

As expected -_-" they didnt do shit. They told me to wait a day because he couldnt fix it so he's sending a guy over -_-"
He just couldnt fix my DNS problem, instead he says it has to do with my Dial Tone whatever the fuck that is..
