Unguarded Guardians (IC) Part 2

Mex struggled with the combined weight of Ravenous, the sack of gold and the staff, grumbling bad naturedly. That little comment from Sort about her being good with sacks had really gotten on her nerves and she would be shoving gold pieces up Sort's nose right now if they hadn't been in a hurry. They soon made it back to the town, Sort having brought the guard captain back in a very convenient cart he had found. They made their way to the guard station, some guy running out and demanding what the hell they were doing.
Her hands twitched with annoyance, but she stood back as Sort unleashed a torrent of verbal abuse on the damn idiot, who was promptly struck wordless. Mex grinned to herself. Was always fun to see Sort do that. Of course, giving a little push in the general direction didn't hurt, too..
Mex plonked the sack of gold and the staff down into the cart that had previously held the captain, twirling her scythe and stopping it just under Dethorac's chin.
"Hey..you aren't considered very innocent, are you..?"
The girl smiled wickedly, Ravenous' razor sharp edge resting at the man's Adam Apple. A single twitch of her hand could end his life right there and then.

Guard Station: Everyone.

Sort was busy contemplating the bird when he heard Dax say Sierra's name. He turned to Dax and looked quite pale before jumping up.
"Did you say, 'Sierra'?! Screw this we gotta get the hell outta here!."
He then ran out and shouted to Mex, who was busy making Dethorac urinate himself, literally. and yell at her to get inside, his voice leaving no room for argument. He then ran over to the window the bird was at and waited.
"Alright, you made your point. I'm sorry alright, please come back."
The bird then returned to the window and did a surprising thing, it spoke, in a soft and beautiful female voice.
"Well, I would hope so. That was rather rude. I cam here to help you."
"I said I'm sorry. What else do you want, Mother?"
"A heartfelt apology."
"You lost the right to bitch at me, when you chose to die with your friends, and leave Father and I alone."
"Alright, I understand. It wasn't easy."
"Nor was Minerva making Father raise me alone, without regard to what it would do to him. You told me I had two years to find them and train them. It sure as hell hasn't been two years. What is going on?" (Minerva=goddess of light. Big boss god)
"Our plans have been accelerated. The Necromancers have allied with the Elementals."
"As in, the ancient elemental daemons that tried to conquer the world five centuries ago, those Elementals?"
"Yes. You cannot protect your companions anymore. You can fight Necromancy easily, but your weakness is the elements. Sierra has realized this and allied with the Elemtals to defeat you."
"We can still fight them, these guys are not champions, but they are good enough."
"No, today is the Demons Moon. The night when the barriers between the realms are at their weakest and the Elementals are at their strongest."
"So, we're screwed?"
"No, the barriers between all the realms are weak, including the realm of the gods, very few know this, and it's intentionall kept a secret. Thor and the others are coming to help you personally. But, they won't be here till midnight. It is up to you to keep them safe until then. Minerva will grant you all the power she can, to help you. But, you cannot defeat the Elementals, just keep them busy long enough."
"Stay alive till help arrives? I can do that. What are we doing about escape?"
"Two pegasi are on their way. the other five can ride them to safety, Sierra won't kill you, you're safe...enough."
"My companions are going to have a lot of questions."
"The gods themselves can answer those questions when they arrive, now hurry, my son."
The bird then flew off and Sort turned to the group.
"I know you guys have a shit-ton of questions to ask, but trust me, they can wait. Sierra is the personal toy and right hand of Korlus, King Necromancer. If she's here we're all in trouble. Now get ready to leave, while I heal Merah, and someone go kill Dethorac, we'll deal with him before we leave."
With that Sort ran back over to the window and emitted a loud as hell, perfect wolf howl. He then waited as he and Dax both heard two horses in the distance, neigh in response. He then went over to start healing Merah.

(Kill Dethorac, then the chase will begin.)

Dad looks very confused as Sort panicked at the mention of his ex girlfriend and his confusion only grew more and more as the bird came back and the furious exchanging of questions flew by past his ability to comprehend! He just gave up until he heard,"Kill Detharoc" and he was ready to go in moments nodding his head to Kaz,"Let's go. You heard the man. Our ride is on it's way andI want to kill this jerk bag and prove once and for all that women can hold their own. Let's go bash some face." He said with a big grin as he sat up and made for the door.

It doesn't take long for Victor to decide on his move. With Dax and Kaz on "coup-crushing" duty, and Sort healing Merah, that only leaves Nyx and himself to hold down the fort, so...

"I'll keep watch for now, and help with the pack-up once Dethorac's down. Fighting him will draw dangerous attention to our little 'hideout'...the guards loyal to him will make sure of that." Seeing how guarding people is literally his way of life, he should be able to fend off any uppity guards that try and ambush them. Besides, it's smart to have someone on faster response ability, if "Captain Turncoat" over there proves too much for just Dax and Kaz...

"If that's the case, then allow me to lend my... Oh fuck it, I just REALLY wanna see Dethorac get his. Any guard stupid enough to be allied with him will get their's too." Lilia says, drawing Red Wind's hilt and keeping watch over Dax and Kaz.

"AWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH!" squealed Kaz. Her commentary on this new and exciting topic was minimal, but her excitement was... super maximal? Some parts of Cap'n Sort's discussion were downright scary, but she couldn't argue with saving the world and murdering the bad guy! Wait, they were out to save the world right? The girl scratched her head, taking a quiet moment to reflect on the past few weeks. First, they'd saved the princess from certain danger and then they'd embarked on a wild and wacky trek across a foreign and usually pretty evil land to... rescue... slaves? And then they were here, learning Sort's ex-GF was totes a homicidal weirdo.

Wowzers!

I almost wonder how much other cool stuff I'm gunna see before I even get back home! Mom, dad and Valun are probs waitin' for me! she thought, for a second almost wanting to zip back home just to check in on them. Maybe make a batch of cookies?

She swung Tide over her shoulder.

"So yah, I dunno wut the heck all that stuff with the birdie was about, but blasting that Dethorac dude is all I need to do, rite? Rite!" Kaz nodded, swinging from the hammock and making for the door.

"Let's like, gooooo!" she insisted, bouncing up and down.

Dax smiled at her enthusiasm as they stood ready at the door,"Alright Kaz I'll immobilize em and you bash his face in! Any guards that try any funny business are fair game too! Let's kick some ass!" He said with a grin and then opened the door rapidly with a shoulder and took a mighty stomp sending the large crowd of guards and Dethorac flying away like bowling pins and tried his same trick he used on the skeleton, on Dethorac, stone cuffs immobilized him for Kaz and her mighty Tide of Justice,"Bring the hammer down!" He called as he moved out of the way of the door with his shield still raised and his stone blade extended again. He was going to seed just how good at fighting and how much better women were than him... right before she killed him.

Outside the building the people were in, but are not in now, because they are outside that building, kinda standing around in front of it looking, since they aren't inside anymore cause they are outside, standi...ohh! look a bunny rabbit!:

AS the group made their way outside they would see a strange sight, the guards have now separated into two sections, the smaller section with Dethorac. the larger standing against him. The section standing against him seems to be mostly old guards and a few young recruits not really sure what to do, while Dethoracs' group seems to be the men of the guard with a few young recruits looking to them for guidance. The larger group appears to be uncertain, old men and untrained boys make a poor fighting force, while the other is being rallied by Dethoracs words of "If you're not with us, you're against us!" The smaller group appears to be getting riled up and ready for a fight, while Dethorac stands around, egging them on, talking to them of the spoils of war. (a.k.a., what bad men would do to helpless women.) The guards don't really pay attention to the group standing around, they are concentrated on each other.

(note: Dax's attack has been annulled. I was going to give you guys a bit of moral support should you be a little tactful and take your time...with this battle, not all of them are evil, only a few. Dax, should you decide to stick with that attack, just say so.)

Lilia comes up short when she sees that the guard has divided up into two groups: The small one for Dethorac and a larger one against. And, just going by demographic and motivation, the larger force is about to be slaughtered. Still, she might be able to do something. The younger recruits for the other side don't seem to have locked in their loyalties yet. Well, misdirection and charisma are part of the successful assassin's repertoire, so let's see if she can strike some motivation into the larger side and take some of the thunder from the younger.

"HEY! What do you think you're doing, discussing taking women against their will!? That's a discussion that should've been settled the moment it came up: You are the guard! You are the first and greatest line of defense the people of this town have. You are the bravest, the mightiest, the most upright this village has to offer! Are you going to defile the implicit trust these people have in you by defiling the women?" Alright, first part done: Motivate and appeal to their sense of honor. The only people who won't respond to that are people who don't have it in the first place. Now to strike the fear in them.
"Taking whatever you want and worrying about the consequences never? Because there will be consequences. People don't take oppression well. One day, either because they've grown fed up or because some traveler comes through and rallies them, they will get revenge for what you've done. And they outnumber you. If worse comes to worse, they'll take you with them when the time comes. They'd be desperate, they'd have nothing left to lose, so don't think they won't. Now, are you going to keep your image as the village's greatest protection or are you going to throw that away for a regime that can only last a few years under this pitiful man's rule?" That should draw the cowards and those who only think of self-preservation back to the fold as well. The only people left should be only the truly evil at heart and they need to die anyway.

Mex had broken away from Dethorac at Sort's yell, annoyed with Sort. Why the hell was he yelling at her? Mex grumbled as she lowered Ravenous, glared death at Dethorac one last time before moving to join the rest of the group in the outpost. There, she mostly raised an eyebrow at Sort's conversation with a bird with a woman's voice. Yeah. Stranger things had happened since they had come here. The memory of getting spat on by a dragon was still kinda fresh in her mind.
The bird, having finished it's little heart-to-heart talk with Sortaix, flapped off into the skies while Sort turned back to them, immediately explaining the current situation. Apparently Sort's bitch of an ex-girlfriend had come back to mess with him. Well, she sure as fucking hell wasn't getting back with Sort now. Not while Mex was here.

Mex strode out the door at the words "kill Dethorac." Something she had been itching to do already. That idiot had frayed a couple nerves of her even when he was silent. There he was, flapping that ugly lip of his. Speaking about what they could do to women..all that stuff. And Mex was definitely a woman. Women tended to not like hearing about rape in general.
"Hey..I'm a girl too, you sad bunch of shitbags."
Mex grinned, flame roaring to life on her frame as Flameform materialized onto her body. The temperature around the area was now sweltering, most of the civilians having backed off to give her a wide berth. She glanced to the side. Lilia was giving some speech about right and wrong, yada yada. No time for that.

"Alright. Listen the fuck up. Those not on his side, get out of the crowd and away from here. Those on his side, I'm burning everyone single one of you bastards to a nice crisp. You guys..don't look too innocent, huh?"
Mex smiled coldly, raising her free hand. A massive fireball blazed to life at her fingertips, but she waited.
"Five seconds to make up your mind.."
The girl reared her arm back.
"Five.."

The combined tactics of Lilias speech as well as both Mex and Dax's attack, sent all the young guards running away from Dethoracs' group and back to the others as they moved back to get the civilians out of the way. This leaves the now immobilized and thoroughly frightened Dethorac and six guards against the group. The guards had been scattered from Dax's spike train, and were now scared, as they reached for their swords with uncertainty as Mex summoned a rather large ball of fire. Dethorac had now obviously wet his pants out of fear. while the group could now decide what to do with his few supporters and Dethorac, himself. Sort is still busy with Merah.

With her speech taken effect, Lilia draws Red Wind. "Ya'll should've run when you had the chance." She says as she funnels wind magic into the hilt, creating the near invisible blade that she'd grown accustomed to. "I could offer you the chance to say your prayers, but as corrupted as you are, it'd be a wasted time." Dax and Kaz seems to have called dibs on Dethorac, so she picks out 3 of the remaining 6 guards and rushes them as fast she can, creating a vacuum in front of her and a tailwind behind her to boost her speed to maximum since there'd be no friction to stop her, and cuts across them in their necks and torsos. Even if they don't die, they'll either piss themselves in fear or go after her. Either way she'll deal the finisher afterwards.

Kaz announced her presence with a few head-over-heel cartwheels, whooping as she flipped to a stop just behind her friends' string of attacks and even deadlier speeches!

"BETTER KEEP ON YO HELMETS WE DON'T MAKE A MESS WHEN I BLOW YA MIND! WA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" she declared, rising into a little handstand before flipping back onto her feet, Tide in hand. The water staff pulsed with visible excitement, forming into an enormous, twin-headed battleaxe of solid ice. It shimmered under the midday sun, like steel. Maybe she was a little arrogant, considering she hadn't done much to scare off the guards, but meh. Dethorac was theirs now! O, and she totes had dibs. And Dax too. But mostly her. Cuz she called it.

"I'M GONNA BASH YA AND THAT'S THE WAY UH-HUH UH-HUH I LIKE IT!" she yelled again, her hands glowing with water magic. She spotted the dark blotches running down Dethorac's pants from where he'd wet himself and was quick to capitalize. Icy energy rushed out from her palm, freezing his soaked crotch solid before she swung Tide about, flinging an icebolt from it that would fly out to impact the jerkface's feet, rooting him in place.

"TIME TA BLOW YA MUTHAFUCKIN' MIND!" she shouted.

Dax seeing that there were only a few guards left loyal to Dethorac who was wetting himself in fear kike the little bitch that he was, and also spotting Lilia moving in to attack he thought he would grab the other three guards together for Mex to incinerate with her large fireball of... um fiery doom. He swirled the earth around them dragging them together so she could hit them all with one hit! Then he just watched the show wary for any attacks by he guards.

[Icaelus]

"Anddd...one. Whoops. Forgot how to count."
Mex grinned wickedly as she hurled the fireball on Dax's go, his earth magic rounding up the guards together in one big wombo combo of flame and dirt. Her flames blazed into the guards, who didn't even have time to scream before the pure heat of the fireball melted them.
"Well. We're done here."
Mex muttered, shaking her smoking hand up and down to fan the smoke away.

Outside in the hot sun, oh wait, that's just a big-ass fiery ball of fire... that's all hot and stuff, with flames on it.:

Lilia's attack was successful as she sliced and diced the guards she was after. They were quickly and easily dispatched, as Mex finished off her share of the guards. Dax's earthen attack quickly rounded them up into a nice small group for Mex to turn into crispy fried critters, which they were unable to escape. Dethorac was now alone as his men were dead and he was immobilized. However as Kaz made her way towards him to finish him off she was hit once more with a blast of purple magic, knocking her back into Dax and rendering her temporarily paralyzed.
Sierra was standing a short way off, apparently she had been watching from the crowd, and had now decided to move forward. She made her way with a few strides and stood beside Dethorac, and gave him a smirk as she spoke.
"Well, well, having a bit of trouble are we?"
Sierra asked him as she looked over the situation he was in.
"Oh, that the gods you're here. My men have been murdered and the others too cowardly to follow through with me."
"No, you're just that bad of a leader. You're men were more afraid of your stupidity, but I must thank you for drawing my friends here out for me. For your reward, I'll kill you quickly."
"Wait, what?! You said I could be..."
Unfortunately for Dethorac, he was cut short as Sierra placed her hand over his heart and magic erupted from it, stopping the rich mans heart. She then pulled his soul out and absorbed it in front of the group.
"Ahh, that is so much better. Now, if you will all please surrender yourselves and come with me, I won't have to have to use my necromancic powers to hand you your own asses."

Lilia's smile of glee at killing the guards for a good cause drains off her face the instant Kaz was hit. Furious, she looks to who could of done it, only to freeze when she see's Sort's bitch of an ex. That lady's packing about 10 levels of "Do not fuck with", especially with her going just short of Aztec warrior on Dethorac's ass. She won't pretend she didn't enjoy seeing him kick it, but the soul being torn out of his body is something assured to give her nightmares for a while. Still, as much as she doesn't wanna fuck with the woman, she has her pride to think about. And an assassin's pride comes before all else but completing the assignment. So she readies Red Wind.

"Sorry, but in my line of work when we get caught or outmatched, we flee until we can kill another day or, if that's not possible, battle to the last to avoid giving out client information." she says, steeling herself for what's to come, but not knowing what to expect since she's never fought a necromancer before.

"DURF!" Kaz grunted, feeling her feet leave the earth.

Her eyes rolled in their sockets as she corkscrewed through the air, the stride of her excitement having been asploded by a giant bolt of gay purple necro-magic to the face. Aww, man, what now!? She just wanted to bash a few bad guys and kill a few necromancers and totes be the heroine. Not get smacked in the face! She crashed chest first into Dax with Tide in close pursuit behind her, the staff hovering itself to a stop in the air next to her to levitate there as Kaz knocked Dax right onto his butt, leaving her sitting atop his thighs, dizzied.

She shook her head to clear her mind.

"Ohi. Sawwy!" she apologized with a grin, then finding that she... couldn't... really... move. Left in a compromising position straddled atop Dax, she twisted her head around painfully until her eyes were on Sort's girlfriend. Err... ex-girlfriend! Wow, she was mad! AND SHE KILL-STOLE! What a jerk... ess? Jerkess?

"Watch out, nnh, it's Sort's Ex-GF!" she shouted, pressing up further against Dax, "And nuuuuuuuu, we ain't surrenderin'!" she snorted, sticking her tongue out.

Dax had thought the battle was going muh to smoothly for their goal to be so near in sight and for his thinking he got... Murphy's Law. Fucking up shit since some pessimistic smart ass came up with it. Now Dethorac was dead, which was good butttt Sierra was here, which was definitely bad. And to make matters worse she had marked her appearance by blasting Kaz in the face with her magic! This could not be tolerated! It seemed though he was now underneath Kaz who was now paralyzed, straddled atop him. He certianly found the position quite nica and would have loved it had the timing been better but alas now was a time for battle and with her paralyzed, he was going to have to save her. He slid her off of him gently and laid her on her back,"I'll keep you safe!" He said as he got up and glared at the necromantic bitch who did this to her,"You. WHat did I tell you would happen if anything befell Kaz. You just unleashed an anger you have no idea even existed." He said his voice dripping with pure unbridled rage that had begun to boil and rise to the surface of his being. Choatic spikes of stone sprouting from his armor as he took a step forward towards her his sheild raised again.
