CARAVAN IC- the stone forest

Ivan listened to her and thought about it for a few moments. "We should send a few scouts ahead in that case. If you think you would be an asset find a horse and accompany me" He looks to the horsemen. "Stay here with the caravan, I need two other guards to accompany me make sure they have fresh horses. If there's danger ahead we'll find it." Ivan waited for his scouting party to assemble.

Emily turns to the girl who had just given her the ride. "I'm sorry, but you might have to wait till I let you inspect my staff. I will be needing it right now." Climbing down from the Carriage. Emily finds a horse to borrow from one of the other merchants. She rode back up to Ivan. "I'm sure I can be of help. I might be able to sense the thoughts of those hostile towards us with my staff."

[Taria]

Ginglias hits sudden bump in the rode as Emily tries to depart. "Aeiiii!!" She yells as he carraige begins swerving uncontrolably and she turns offe the path to avoid crashing into anyone else. The tethers to her horses snap as they run off ahead into the distance, spooked. Meanwhile, Ginglias and all of her belongings go riding down the hill away from the others.

Ivan had planed on waiting for the scout party... but someone needed him first. He pulled the reins of his horse and sent it into a gallop after Ginglias. It was hard catching up to a wagon in full speed with a heavily armored horse carrying an equally armored knight. Still he tried to move along side Ginglias and dropped his shield holding out his left arm to her. Ivan shouted over the noise of the run away wagon and his plate armor. "Take my hand!"

For some strange reason, Jenny feels a nervous chill crawl up her spine. She has no idea why...but the feeling is much like what someone feels while being stalked. She has an urge to ask Myu if she feels like they're being watched, but decides against it; all the adventurous tales she's read imply that doing so is bad luck.

(I'm assuming Jenny hasn't noticed the commotion with that one carriage, right?)

Jin's lips parted into an embarrassed smile. It felt a little immature to let her emotions be so luminescent, but Zeph could have been knighted as an expert at making her feel awkward. Her cheeks turned a deeper red; she'd always fizzled when it came to this kind of chatter. Unsure of what to say, she looked away to the rotting road beneath their cart, then to the bushy tail of the wagon's horse, which was idly swatting away a family of flies seeking to land on its legs. When Zeph spoke up again, she was almost immediately glad it was not another joke. She looked back to the girl in question, but saw little of concern; it seemed her problems had already been sorted out.

"She looks fine. I'm sure a lot of people are nervous." she replied to Zeph.

She relaxed her grip on the horse's reins, leaning back into her seat and smoothing out the skirt of her equipment. Nothing to do now but wait.

On horse back, Emily notices a bit late of what Ivan was trying to do. She wouldn't be agile enough to assist Ivan at the current moment, but she can still do what she can and try to detect for other hostile presences before it was too late. Concentrating she searches and Isolates thoughts of violence and lust. Knowing about all the tales of what monsters did to woman, especially with their species diminishing. She had the horse gallop behind Ivan not able to catch up with their speed without breaking her concentration. For now she kept searching for any hostile thought.

Ginglias tries to reach for Ivan, but the blustering wind almost blows off her concealing hood, ducking she pulls the hood securely down and cowers away. Looking back at her carriage, she quickly constructs a lie to explain her hesitance. "But... all my lifelong possessions!" She cries, looking at Ivan pleadingly.

"I'll stop the wagon -after- you're safe, just give me your hand!" Ivan moved as close as he dared to the run away wagon. He was prepared to yank her off if she hesitated much longer, it wasn't safe to be this far from the caravan. "Trust me!" Ginglias had two choices, trust the horseman whose armor looked like it had held of an infantry platoon or stay on the run away cart heading away from the only group of humans in these wilds.

Ginglias tucks her concealing clothes tightly all around, making sure the two gems are safely secure, before holding down on her hood and taking a headlong leap in Ivan's direction. Hopefully he is able to catch her and hold her up by his own strength, because it doesn't seem like she brave enough to release her nervous grasping of her own clothes.

Ivan wraps his arm around under her arm as she jumps and pulls her over onto his horse sidesaddle in front of him. He pulls away from the wagon and leads ahead of it for a second before abruptly turning parallel, for a second it looks like hes going to intentionally crash into the wagon but he lowers his lance and loops it through the wagons back spokes. Ivan drops the lance and it smashes up into the wagon bed halting the back wheels, it continues sliding still carrying quite a bit of inertia but it will eventually slow down and stop. He looks at Ginglias through his visor "Are you unharmed?" he slows his horse to a trot and waits for Emily to catch up.

"BEcuase you`ve done nothing to deserve rough treatment. She earned what she got. You were obedient and for that I approve." He said as he started to go deeper and faster into her. He wanted to keep her around. Something about her just got to him. And she made such an excellent bitch. There is a giant sinkhole up here (upper middle), and I've also found out there is a shack with a tunnel leading back near the city. Well it actually comes out of some cliffs, then drops you in water, so that makes it one way. Plus I forgot where the shack was... but it's out there!
Oo, oo, there is also a giant wasp nest down there in the forest (lower right), they make really good honey, but their stings could decapitate you." She said, also pointing out half a dozen minor and insignificant things.

Myu had only responded to Jenny with a courteous and lovely nod, minding her own business since then before eventually finding herself slightly bored. Glancing towards her 'older sister', she tugged so cutely on her shirt again, exactly on her left elbow before gently clearing her throat and smiling curiously. ''Jenny? What's wrong? Is something troubling you, sis?'' She said in her adorable, highly feminine tone while raising an eyebrow in worry. It was rare when Myu actually called Jenny her 'older sister', but when she did it only meant that she was being serious. Herself being an orphan, she had been 'taken' under Jenny's wing after she joined the guard recruits.

A thud can be heard in the distance by the entire caravan. The ground shakes a bit upon the impact of the thud. The merchants begin to panic and the guards all draw their weapons.
(I’m trusting you guys could handle a giant It’s on the checkpoint.)

The cart eventually slows. However, the horses are far gone in the distance. When Ginglias looks at them she sees a tree moving in the distance. It seemed to be used as a club when it was brought down with a loud thud atop the horses.

Emily

Emily spots a head moving in the distance. It seemed pretty damned large for a human. It seemed to be a giant with a tree as a club. If this was true… they were going to get smashed into a bloody pulp. The giant raises its club and brings it down on something. The crunching of something can be heard in the distance.

Jinedria:

Jinedria sees a giant moving stick in the distance. “Umm… Jinedria… what is that??” Zephyros asks with a bit of panic. This is the first time he’s seen something like this. Shaking of the ground after the loud thud causes everyone around them to be on edge.

Sevren

Sevren wakes up. Sevren finds himself next to a golem. The golem seems to be digging away at the ground right next to him. He is in the stone forest near the mysterious stone

Garian and Aessith:

Garian spots Claire near the back of the caravan. She seemed weak compared to all of the other merchants within the caravan. The loud thud is heard and the ground shakes beneath Garian’s feet. He looks up just in time to see a giant on the road. With the confusion Aessith and Garian could get in amongst the confusion.
(By weak I mean not that muscular.)

Claire gets the feeling she is being stalked by something. When she turns her head she finds nothing there but a boulder. The loud thud takes her attention away from the boulder

Jennifer and Myu:

The thud and ground shaking makes the guards around them draw their weapons. It signals danger is close. “Prepare for defense! We have incoming hostiles!” the guard in purple says.

Fagsag:

“Hmm…. You’re right… I am missing some important things… could you fix it up for me?” Logan says to Fagsag. The thud and ground shaking happens right after he says those words.

“GOD DAMNED IT!” Logan shouts. He stops the cart. “We have a giant…” Logan whispers to Fagsag.

Fagsag stops and looks off into the distance. A giant? On the road? Here!?!? This was crazy, she never saw giants ‘cept way out west, what are they doing between two cities? She hands Logan back his map and says “Lets hope it’s an intelligent giant, maybe we can talk it into leaving instead of hurting it.”

Looking down the road, she sees said giant using a tree as a club. "Ok maybe not, but let's pray" Then she looks around for any good places to hide off the road.

Ginglias curls up in on herself as she cowers in Ivan's arms. "I am fine." She murmurs as she looks straight down at the ground and has a moment of rest.

The loud digging of the golem is disturbing Sevren's sunbathing and he glares at it blantantly before rising up onto his hind legs and hissing at it.

(I'm tired, so no long post this time)

Jenny doesn't even need to be given the OK for weapons, as she already has Bellona in one hand, and an arrow readied in the other. Judging by the loud thud and the shuddering earth beneath her, the enemy is probably either a giant, a troll, or a big dragon...any of which would be quite the challenge. She mentally estimates how high the creature's knees could be, and aims at around that area; once the threat actually shows itself, it'll give her more time to adjust her aim, and hopefully impair its locomotion.

(I swear to God, if anyone makes an "arrow to the knee" joke...)

Ivan was hoping to give his horse a rest after that wagon chase but unfortunately it was right back into the thick of it. He rode at full speed back to the caravan and let Ginglias down gently. He then looks to the guards. "Something big is out there, archers disperse into the field aim for its eyes, keep it blind or distracted. Horsemen to me we're going for its feet." Ivan realized he had left his lance back in the wagon and cursed under his breath. "Pardon me" He pulled a few spears up from guards willing to give them, they weren't as strong as a lance on a charge but they would have to do for now.

Ivan assembled the four horsemen and waited for whatever was out there to lumber into view. "Famine, you're going out first to get its attention, just focus on avoiding the club, the rest of us will split ourselves between the legs, aim for its ankles. If we can bring it down to our level one of us can lance it through something vulnerable"

Seeing that everyone had already noticed the giant. Emily kept focusing on any other hostile presence around the caravan. A single giant alone wouldn't be able to take this caravan. Someone might be using it as a distraction. Hell, it sure got everyone's attention. Emily kept focusing using her staff to find thoughts of violence and lust outside of the caravan. There had to be more of them out there.
