Played them both when they came out.

I completely agree with the epicness that are these games.

Bastion also counts as an indy game btw, it's amazing.

Black Mesa is more of an indy mod though, and free, which is awesome for the amount of quality and effort they put into it.

Well, I think both Limbo and Closure are well made indie games, I really liked them.
I also liked the Dishwasher series, but I'm not fond of the game as much as I am of its musics.
Uhm... it may be old and well known today but I believe it started as an indie: Castle Crashers!
That's my favourite among the indie beat'em ups.
I recommend you to give them a try.

I agree!

PAYDAY:The Heist is pretty fun teaming up with 4 other players on different maps robbing banks, stealing government codes etc . It also has a leveling up system where you can pick between different the 4 classes assault ,sniper, support, technician(with dlc) improving current guns, acquiring new skills, and unlocking new weapons.

Orcs Must Die(1 & 2) is a great game especially the second one with co-op 2 player where you and a bud can play. building up defenses and killing a ton of orcs. It also has an upgrade system were you can improve your traps and character weapons and spells.
