Hey, long time lurker here (cue groaning) who finally got around to making an account. Anyway, I have a question for the community: I've been reading a bunch of erotic online choose-your-own-adventures, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Legend of Krystal CYOA. The templates are fairly simple, so I would be willing to get the project started, but editing would be left open to the public. That way, anyone who had an option that they wanted to see could simply add that option. Any variety of sex you can imagine? Feel free. Specific pairings? Of course. A willing, submissive, or rebellious Krystal? All of the above. Subsequently, either they or another writer could add the corresponding scene. Anyone who does not want to experience that option does not have to. Of course, due to the prevalent non-consent in LoK, a decision may not have quite the result you were expecting- that just adds to the fun. And since there's really no limit to how long you can make your story (that I know of), any and all community requests could eventually be honoured- something that is practically impossible to accomplish in a flash game. There seem to be plenty of talented writers on this forum (it might even be possible to simply adapt portions of existing works- with the original author's consent of course), and while I have little experience writing erotica, though plenty in other forms of writing, I am also willing to try my hand for this project. If nothing else, I can certainly serve in an editing capacity.

So, there's my sails pitch for something our whole community could accomplish together bit by bit. Please leave any feedback, questions, or comments you may have. Please avoid content requests, however. If you post those, I'll probably assume you ignored half of my post and return the favor- no offense. Joking, of course, but please read the above carefully first. Suggestions for early branching options would also be welcome.

So, are you looking to create the CYOA thingy in the forum, or are you going to slap something together in Flash, and are looking for contributing writers and editors?

Just asking, because we've already got a thread like that (I think) here somewhere- but a flash CYOA might be kinda cool. Lord knows there are enough Krystal pictures online to provide relevant pictures, if you wanted to add a picture-y element... which would not be unwelcome.

Good question. Actually, I was planning to use a site such as this one http://editthis.info/create_your_own_ad ... /Main_Page to avoid getting hung up on programming and communication issues. That's what I meant by leaving it open to public editing. The material could theoretically be put in a flash game similar to CoC at some point, but I unfortunately do not possess flash, or have any skill in flash, and at any rate that's not the goal of the project.
Also, I love the picture idea (it may even be possible to link to specific flashes on the forum), but unless people are posting their own pictures, it will be tedious to get permission from the various artists.
I believe you are correct about there being a CYOA on this forum, but the only one I know of is poll driven, rather than reader driven (only one option actually gets developed after each choice). I'm not trying to offend the author, I'm actually a fan, but it seems like he is limited by the forum- it's just not designed for that purpose.
Finally, you could say I am looking for contributors. but I think welcoming them would be more appropriate. If all you want to add is one page, or even just an idea or outline, you can do that. If you feel particularly inspired one day and write up a whole chain, so much the better. If you have a picture that fits a particular scene, plug it in. This thread should probably be used to notify everyone else of any additions you've made, so we can enjoy and possibly continue from them.

Seems to be a similar vein to the wiki, but more aimed towards an adult audience. I haven't used it myself, but this website was created for the purpose of erotic porny CYOA stories. Plus, like the wiki, anyone can add a branch to it, but I think the only one who can edit or delete branches is the actual owner of the thread.

The only problem I have with this, is you can't really control who contributes (as far as I know.) So you could get any range of writers from the talented to the hacks, to flat out trolls. If this gets off the ground, here's to hopping we get some talented writers working on it, and that there can be someone that regulates what entries on the branching paths gets posted and what doesn't.

Trunks, you make a good point, and that's my biggest concern as well. I could simply set it on owner editing only, but that would mean personally editing and connecting EVERYTHING, which could cause significant delays. I'll find out if there's a way to make a group admin., but I really don't want to make this exclusive. I may just start with a public story and change it later if things go south.

That's the spirit Yawg, will do. It may be a few days though, this is going to be a busy week. Nobody panic, I'll do my best to have something started by next weekend.

Heh, sorry but I actually already got something I'm working on, (besides the current LP and the reviews) and I don't wanna get sucked back into writing stuff for LoK, even if it's just a choose your own adventure story.

Quick update: 5 pages in about an hour (including tutorial time), and I'm out of time. The existing material basically sets up for the first Sharpclaw encounter. There's no proper sex yet, but I may later add an 'Or, do you want to start aboard the Great Fox' option on the first page. Also, I'm going to request that no one do any editing this week as I have a few ideas still to implement. Once the crash scene(s) are written (which is where I am now), it'll be open, but I want to set it up a few things first. Thanks guys. Also, does anyone have a suggestion for where to save drafts that is neither on my computer nor publicly accessible? Just in case a troll comes along, you know. The coding is extremely simple, but I really hate writing things twice.

Not a bad start- but if you're open to suggestions at this early stage:
1. Starting at the Great Fox might be a bit more open; that way, potential writers can lead Krystal in other directions; not only the main core direction that follows the game. (Like... with encounters with other characters, or deciding not to visit the planet at all.)
2. I don't know if this is the pages are all going to be so... brief. Beef 'em up a bit! Give them a bit more depth and detail, so they don't seem so rushed.

Anyway, saving drafts is easy; email them to yourself. Boom done. That way you don't have to worry about your parents finding it on the computer- because I assume that's why you're looking for some way of storing it online

IMPORTANT UPDATE: FIRST SEX SCENE. READ ON FOR DETAILS. Constructive criticism is always welcome. I agree that starting on the Great Fox is probably the best idea, but the sheer number of characters (possibly even other PCs) and other possibilities aboard convinced me to put it off for now. If I start on that I probably won't make it to the planet for weeks and that's before considering other planets. That's actually why I plan on postponing the virginity issue as well. I figured I'd just start with the opening scene from the game and build around it. That said, if someone were to hand me a decent Great Fox opening and chain leading up to dinosaur planet, I'd be happy to handle the repositioning of the existing pages. Which reminds me, I need to add locations to the project for those who want to skip the Great Fox.

As for the issue with the brevity of my pages, they seem rushed because they were rushed. I was basically just spinning out ideas and didn't have much time to spare to begin with. Also, the purpose of most of them is more to modify Krystal's status and build anticipation than anything. I will try to flesh them out a little, but my focus right now is on the state Krystal is in physically and emotionally when the Sharpclaws attack. For instance, if she doesn't open the cockpit at all, the arwing will actually crash before the sex scene occurs.

If you want 'beefier', I'm sure you'll like the page I just added in more ways than one. It's definitely closer to a finished product than the ones setting up Krystal's degree of deshabille. It's also the first sex I've ever written, so any feedback at all would be helpful, but please try to be nice haha. The option is accessible from the title page.

If you wanted to prevent other pages accidentally linking to your story (and vice versa) mebbe it wouldn't be a bad idea to preface every page with LoK or something...?

And I do like the redos a lot more than the original drafts, obviously... I kind of figured they were brief rough drafts, but looking at some of the other stories' brevity , it was making me a bit nervous.

As far as my thoughts on the Great Fox- just have Krystal and Fox in the hangar, discussing the reason they're going to the planet. The array of choices stemming from that page would then lead to Krystal and Fox cruising on the surface of the planet, or Krystal being called out by one of the other starfox crew members.

I completely understand your apprehension- there's nothing more annoying than a great idea that never goes anywhere.

I do like your idea for the Great Fox, but that will probably be the second scene, however. The first scene would be Krystal in her quarters or somewhere else on the ship with one of the options being either to go meet Fox in the hanger or go to the briefing room to select a mission. For the scene you described, all that's missing is a reason for their trip. Hmm, how does this sound?

Fox and Krystal receive a distress call from King Tricky, and rush off to investigate. Later it could be revealed that the whole dinosaur population is experiencing uncontrollable lust or some variation thereof. That way, we could give writers the option of utilizing other tribes in the various plot lines. A full grown Tricky + Krystal pairing could be interesting, for example.

First of all, I've been meaning to mention that the future sex scenes will have options DURING the sex. They simply wouldn't have made sense in the first one.

Now to answer your question. Tell you what, I'll finish the first variation of the scene where Krystal meets Liz tomorrow (I actually finished when I was writing the other day and it didn't post properly), and then that line will be OPEN to any and all crazy additions. I'll probably just leave the choices blank for now, so if anyone wants to see me or another author do something, just put in the option with the preface LoK. Please try to phrase it in such a way that it can follow 'Does she:'

Next on my list is to write the attack and wake-up scenes for the other Krystal states (which I'm certain will multiply once we add in the great fox section), after which those lines will be open as well. My storylines will probably continue to have a constant world state with the modifications to events being directly dependent on your choices, but the other pathways don't have to follow that pattern. Creativity is the purpose of this project.
