For the last week I have had no sound on my laptop at all. I checked the device manager and it said that one of my high definition audio controllers has a “code 10”.
The problem is affecting other parts of my laptop as well. If I try to put it in sleep mode the screen will go black but the computer will stay on and start making a lot of heat. And my USB ports don’t work anymore so I can’t make a “just in case” copy of my game (I know it’s not pretty but I worked really hard on it
).I’ve tried updating the driver but it’s already up to date. I tried uninstalling it and letting the computer reinstall it but the problem is still there. System restore doesn’t work (says something is blocking access to some files). Then I tried using a free trial of slim drivers to fix it. It worked for like a day then the problem came back.
Anyone have any other suggestions? It’s a Toshiba by the way.
