Emile unbuckles and gets out of his seat. "Thank you Cortana and while we're researching could you please look up the commander of the garrison on Odysseus? I'll probably pay that person a visit too to find some extra work to do and maybe grab a few people before returning to that cursed spacestation to get that holo-thingy." He walks over to his fridge and opens it up to examine what he has. A bunch of Dubwisers but...no rum. "I really need to stop buying the cheap stuff" Emile grumbles as he grabs a can and takes a sip.

Alitzah paced back and forth around the holo-deck located right on the center of her personal lab. What the voice was telling her and revealing was something rather disturbing thus to be greatly concerned about. Apparently, someone is interested saving her life, as if any danger had been found yet. With a soft tap of the digits of the three fingers on her right hand, she activated and isolated the holo-deck for her use only. As the voice kept talking, she made sure that all of her files were on her personal unit, a "physically" small hard drive but with mind-blowing capacities of storage and security inside. It had been made of a material as pitch-black as onyx and even stronger than titanium with faint, glowing light blue energy traces that could be seen as some kind of "cracks" on it.

Keeping that always hidden within her suit, in a hidden compartment below where her hood and other important parts of her suit were. Sending a code into the holo-deck, she tried to trace the voice's origin as it kept speaking, alarmed that -he- knew something that they didn't, or she.

High Command had to be warned and the ship itself.

Alitzah packed her personal possessions and placed them all within a light-weight, expensive backpack meant for 'field operations', or for heading outside of anywhere that meant being outside the Sekhmet. It wasn't even large, since the backpack could be compared to a really small backpack worn on the back, formed in a rather squared way with curved edges.

''How do you know any of this? Have you been spying anyone?'' She asked rather calmly as she packed a lot of 'military' type rations but of pretty much higher quality within her scientist's field backpack.

As Alitzah did so, she had already begun to try to contact the Captain of the ship within a private and secure channel, stating as 'RESPOND IMMEDIATELY'.

Just when Lilia's sure she's about to unleash her fury on the Shinobi Drones, newcomers appear. Newcomers that take her anger and replace it with pure shock. To the point where her mouth is literally hanging open and her eyes bulging out of her skull and she's left completely and utterly speechless.

'Cartoons! I thought this only existed in cartoons!!' is her first thought once her brain unfreezes. Her second is that she's been told to distract them while reinforcements arrive. She'll have to do it peacefully because she damn sure can't take on five people alone. Then she has an idea. A stupidly crazy and silly idea. But with the theme going on here, it just might work. She takes a deep breath, then looks straight into the Brigadiers.

"I AM!" She shouts, starting her pose. After putting her fingers together in a ninja pose, she swings her left arm across her face and holds. "The assassin of justice!" She then moves into the final pose and holds. "Lilia!" Breaking pose, she backflips, lands it, then points dead at the Diamond Brigadier. "And I shall punish you!" She grabs her shock dagger and resumes the final pose from before. "For the evil of disturbing this peaceful conference!"

'I'm SOOOO glad no one I know can see me right now.' she thinks, secretly both enjoying her posing and mortified by it.

November grit her teeth in numb pain, rolling with a great effort onto her back so that she might glare up at the illuminated Alcor. Were there one thing in this galaxy that might pain her, it was her own neural regs. It was ferociously powerful technology, but unstable -- a prototype that'd never caught up with her true abilities. Hardening her look, she tried to remain confident through his little speech. She hadn't given up, but she couldn't move. It was just when dread began to tickle at her that Alcor's triumph was broken by a shotgun blast.

Hissing out an audible breath, she reached a stiff arm for Freyja, which was sprawled out beside her, and waved the blade defensively in the air atop her just as Alcor would warp away. It was Juno. The relief at his sight was tangible, but she tried not to express it. Her recovery systems were ironing out her paralysis, but she was still floored on her back, Freyja across her chest as she looked up to the Jet Force operative. The situation was a dent in her pride: good composure and image in her contemporaries' eyes were critical to her field tests.

"My name is... November." she spoke, her voice clear and steeled. She was cautious not to mention her employment. Reaching nearby, she snatched her blade's sheath back.

"I'll be fine. Give me a minute-thirty." she added, sliding Freyja back into the sheath. She inhaled a deep breath, letting the recovery systems do their work.

"What are you doing here?" she questioned up to him after a pause. With Alcor dismissed, she could return to her mission objective while there was a free moment.

Ryan gets up in full from what had happened and would nod his thanks to Jayden's intervention and then looked at the rather ominous object that was approaching. His eyes narrowed as he would move onwards with his squad "Let's get going we got people to save. Besides whatever that thing is, we should keep some distance from it and if we have to face it I don't want it to be in such a narrow hallways with it." Ryan said figuring that they should get cracking on that task they were assigned and quick.

<<November. Planet Cerulean.>>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

“Well then, it’s a tad late, but nice to meet you, November. As for why I’m here…” Juno looks over at the computer screen. “This place was once a major breeding ground for Drones, and a large asset in Mizar’s armies. Even after his death, I couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d have a backup plan. So, I traveled back to his abandoned bases, scrounging up whatever data I could find. When I got here, however, my ship seemed to act like it was EMP’d, and I’ve been stuck here since then.” He sighs, then continues:

“The data I found here, however, was more ominous than the rest. It turns out that Mizar was more than just a Tribal chieftain gone mad in his own machine. There was…another mind in the equation, and that mind has two back-ups in the form of AI fragments. The logical half is part of the mind for the current Omnis Domina leader, Ammit Seth’Mort. The more emotional half was directly implanted into a lobotomized Jet Force operative from the Mizar campaign, which they captured and held in these very catacombs…though, I have yet to determine what became of that operative since then.”

“If those two halves ever re-unite into the whole, and gain a body of their own, the Drones would come back into a single group under their original leader’s guidance…and I fear that he wouldn’t start with the Tribals, like last time…”

However, before Juno can indulge you any further, the cave starts to shake, and mechanical sounds can be heard below. To make matters worse, the computer screen lights up with a big red box, with a very clear warning message: “Cryo-stasis pods set to resuscitation mode. Cryo-sleeping Drones will be combat ready in 40 seconds.” “Dammit, we’re out of time! Can you move again, November?” Considering that Juno’s explanation gave your auto-recovery systems enough time to finish, the answer to that would be “yes”…and not a moment too soon, either. The time to skedaddle is now.

<<Emile. Hyperspace...at the start, anyway.>>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

“Copy that, sir.” Cortana replies, while processing your requested data. “Well, the official garrison commander would be Major Jonathan Edge, but since he’s out on vacation right now, his substitute would be…hold on…” After you take a sip or two of your beer, Cortana chimes in once more, this time with more concern in her voice: “Alert! Unknown frequency locking onto our ship! It's…”

Unfortunately, Cortana never gets to finish her statement, as your ship is suddenly yanked out of hyperspace, and sent hurtling towards a red-and-brown-colored planet, the name of which eludes you. On top of that, Cortana’s too busy trying to stabilize your flight pattern to say much, and by the time you can figure out much else, she cries out: “No good, we’re gonna crash! Yank me, Emile!” You manage to do so, just before a massive shock of force slams you into your own captain’s chair, and renders you unconscious.

When you awake, you find yourself sprawled out on the floor of your ship, which is currently sparking on most of the electronics from the crash. Looking up and out of the cockpit windshield, you finally realize where you crashed: Eschebone, a volcanic planet with oceans of lava between its many bits of solid ground. Most forms of life can’t survive here without special equipment, save for the few colossal Hotmaw Worms that call it home. During the Mizar campaign, one of those worms was used as an unusual form of outpost for the Drones, though both the forces and the worm itself are dead now.

You’ve heard rumors of a Federation ship factory somewhere on the surface, but with your own ship in no condition to fly, your only option right now is to walk. At least Cortana has the ability to point out an unidentified building to the north. You have 3 grenades and two Nova Blades to help you with any self-defense needed from here on out...though, the heavily-tectonic nature of this planet could become problematic if you go blowing too much shit up…

<<Alma. Rith Essa Hot Spring.>>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

With towel on body, and…not much else…you trek over to the open-air springs on the women’s side. A few of the guys that happen to catch the sight of you along the way do ogle a little bit, but are smart and decent enough to not try anything “funny”; even if they did, this place has security that would escort them out. Seems the managers did their research on anime-esque pervy fantasies…

Anyhow, you’re now soaking in the springwater, with only one other girl in at the same time as you:
Image
Like you, she’s wrapped up in a white towel, though it seems just a little too small for her curvy, well-built body. She sighs in relaxation, then glances over at you, and comments: “Ahh, nothing like a good soak in the springs, eh?”

<<Lilia, Ryan, and Aigis. Earth ITS convention.>>

<Lilia>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Diamond seem to have a unanimous “WTF” reaction to your posing, but Topaz is different. Instead of just staring in disbelief, he first snickers, then bursts out in hysterical laughter, while unknowingly backstepping towards the edge of the rooftop. No one but Ruby seems to notice that detail and by the time he does, Topaz is already tripping and falling off the building. From what appears to be a speaker system on Ruby’s jetpack, a strangely fitting song begins to play, as he cries out ”NOOOOOOOOO!!” Well…that was interesting…

“Fear not, Topaz! You shall be avenged!” Sapphire cries out, then rushes straight at you…

…and is promptly smacked back away, by a man jumping in from above, wielding a large, wrench-shaped staff weapon. “15 seconds…damn, I must be getting rusty.” the man comments, before Diamond shouts: “Bastard! Who are you?!” “Ah yes, how rude of me. The name’s Sledge…Vector Sledge. I’m here to throw a wrench into your plans, and kick your asses.” Vector “aims” his wrench-like polearm just a tad past Diamond’s left cheek, and fires a warning shot from a hidden mini-cannon between the wrench’s “prongs.” Between his arrival, and Topaz’s rather hilarious demise, this does certainly even the odds a bit.

“Well, it seems our tussle out here has bought good time for the evacuation, so we might as well head for the shuttle hangar. That’s the only place they have left to go right now.” However, by the time you’re within 12 feet of the hangar’s access door…

…a golden bolt of energy streaks over your heads, trapping you, your teammates, and all 4 members of team Sigma in with – you guessed it – the golden object from before. In fact, he’s not an object at all, but rather, a combatant in gold-colored armor. His face is hidden behind the opaque silver tint of his visor, and right now, he’s simply standing there, apparently studying the lot of you. “So…my Shinobis were defeated by mongrels like you? In that case, they never deserved life to begin with.”

Dennis of team Sigma doesn’t seem to care for the golden dude’s gloating, and decides to gun him down with an Auto-rifle burst at the head. However, the bullets seem to vaporize just an inch or two in front of their target’s face, as if blocked by energy shielding. Goldy simply scoffs, and raises up a hand. Suddenly, orbs of golden energy materialize above him, and form spear-like shapes aimed straight at Dennis. “Look well, dogs. See what happens to those who defy Shura Nun’Maat.”

With that said, the bolts streak down at an unbelievable speed, the sheer number of them vaporizing Dennis on the spot. The only thing left of him is a black scorch mark where he once stood…

(BGM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iSU5LPYczE)
As you side-run out of cover, the Cyborg Drone does manage to spot you, but the combined fire from Greg and Ginny keeps it from aiming too well. As a result, the rocket impacts about 8 feet behind you, which simply tosses you off your feet, and sends you tumbling over into a wall. While that still hurts a bit, it’s better than being insta-gibbed by a direct hit. Your own shots would have been clean hits on its head and upper body, were it not for that blast…but unfortunately, it threw off your aim enough for them to simply hit its metallic half, negating any damage they could have done.

In the time it takes for you to get back up, Ginny charges up her Plasma Shotgun in one hand, and uses her Pistol in the other for cover-fire. In no more than an additional second, her heavier gun is fully charged, and she lets loose with a powerful plasma blast straight at the Cyborg Drone’s head. The shot itself travels a bit slower than a bullet, so the Drone has time to lean a bit in an attempt to dodge...but the blast catches a bit of its left flank, melting a hole in the metal armor there. You can’t tell what sort of cybernetics are in there, but it still gives you another spot to shoot at.

<<Mia. Sekhmet Battleship. Your personal laboratory.>>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

“I’ve seen the forces with my own eyes, though from the safety of a cloaked vessel. Were it not for that, I’m sure the second group would’ve torn me apart.” The Quarian voice replies as you pack up. However, your attempt to contact the captain doesn’t seem to go through, as indicated by the “error: receiver not found” message. Oh boy, that’s not good; the only time a secure Drone frequency fails like that, is if the receiver is in a jammed zone, or if he/she is dead…and given how your comm link can still function on the ship, the first case doesn’t seem likely. Not too long after your failed transmission, you receive one from the ship’s bridge:

“Good afternoon, crew of the Sekhmet. This is your new captain, Alcor Terminadus, speaking, as the old one was deemed ‘unfit for duty.’ If any of you have complaints, you can take it up with me personally…oh, and I have a little game for all the crewmates on here. Y’see, I brought a few of my own Drones with me, and they’re gonna start seeking you all out. If you want to stay on this ship, your task is simple: kill them before they kill you. Good luck, boys! MEHAHAHAHA!”

(BGM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Efvh8yVnJE&feature=related)

Oh fuck all kinds of duck…that is VERY bad. The guy you’ve been chatting with seems to realize that, as well: “Argh, damn you Alcor! There’s no time left, Alitzah. You need to get moving now! There should be a maintenance path door just outside your room, over to your left. Head in there, and follow it until you come to a right-hand turn. I’ll have more instructions for you there. Go!” Knowing Alcor – a.k.a., the High Commander of the Covert Ops division – the Drones he brought along for his “tryouts” are likely Shinobi Drones, which would make them nearly impossible for you to defeat. In that case, the sneakier route through maintenance is definitely the preferred one. Good luck, and godspeed.

<<Dax Sierra. Goldwood Slaver Hideout.>>
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

While nothing close to an honest-to-God scholar, the Shinobi Drone does see partway through your ruse. It knows that you’re not stupid enough to try the same move immediately after it fails like that; were that the case, you would have perished back at the landmines.

What it didn’t foresee, however, was your feinting backslash attack. It manages to reflexively avoid any lethal damage from it, but you do cut a nice gash through his exoskeleton’s upper thorax. A little further in, and you would’ve ripped open his right lung, dooming him to a slow, wheezing death. He may still be alive, but you’ve shown that he can bleed…and anything that bleeds sure as hell can die.

However, he doesn’t seem content with giving you another opening like that. This is indicated by how he swiftly warps up onto the wall, then proceeds to wall-run around the room’s perimeter, curve-balling his way towards you. You can’t tell what form of strike he’ll attempt when he reaches you, or if he’ll try warping behind you again...whatever he does, you’d better be ready for it.

Dax grinned as his slash connected and nearly killed the horrible, dishonorable, sneaky creature. That will teach him to underestimate me." He thought with a malicious grin that battle often brings him. He may be a good man but battle brings out the demons of us all. He say him warp away like the coward he was and now he was wall running towards him and he decided that a short burst from his SMG would keep him on his toes. He quickly drew and fired a three round burst into the shinobi Drone leading the target alittle before holstering the gun and drawing his knives again with lightning speed ready to meet his attack. He remained on the balls of his feet and ready to move if he had to and shouted,"Come at me!"

Alitzah's right hand was 'typing' onto her holographic tool resting from the beginning of the back of her left hand all the way to the middle section of her arm, trying to contact the Ship's Captain before coming to no avail. Suddenly, a voice message filled the comm, making her eyes widen but then force he right hand into a fist as that 'Alcor' person was definitely not in her likes list. While holding back tears of frustration and anger, she shook her head and tapped a couple of commands onto her holographic tool, shutting down her lab -- which was already containing zero data, all in an ancient 'data device' she had in her scientific, compact backpack.

Quarians had a thing for the ships they belonged to, specially the ones they lived in. Alitzah wasn't going to let some dumb brute from some 'fancy' division wreck the ship apart just to test out a new batch of his Shinobi drones. In fact, Alitzah knew that the ship would have some nasty surprises.

Alitzah was already working on creating an override on all of the ship's security controls, using her master keys and hacks to get into the system and make all the defense turrets and bots become active and target the specific pattern of Shinobi drones. She would also have sent a message to the military personnel on the ship, ordering them to push back the invading 'friendly' forces all the way back onto the bridge. Or if possible, resist as much as they could before going into the escape pods to let important personnel evacuate.

''I'm afraid that I have to find this Alcor.. And take up a complaint to him. I will make sure that he will have his head on a plate if he doesn't stop this atrocity! I need to find him and stop this all before my own fellow crew members die..'' The worried Quarian girl said before picking up a security type III pistol from a small box within her room, checking if the energy levels were alright as she let it 'stuck' to the side of her waist due to it's magnetic safety strap.

Stealthily leaving her room and shutting the door behind her, tapping some controls on her holographic wrist-tool to have some holograms in there, some music playing to work as a distraction. Afterwards, she stepped into the maintenance door, hacking the controls in one swift move before shutting it once more with her inside. A glance was all she needed, looking at the digital map forming on her holographic tool. She needed to get to the bridge soon, before doing anything else. Mr. Ammit would unleash living hell onto that stubborn Alcor if any harm fell upon her or the ship, right?

November grit her teeth, feeling her resolve pool back into her. The stiffness of her limbs faded under the weight of adrenaline, allowing her to rise to her feet with blade in hand but seconds after Juno gave his spiel, more primed than ever. She heaved one last breath to exercise her lungs, and then looked to him with an affirmative nod. It felt prudent not to voice an opinion on his tale -- its political background and strong ties to the galaxy's current crisis had it a mess for NHD Command's fingers, not hers. But that didn't calm the feeling that boiled in her chest; this added a deadly new layer to a cauldron of war. She may not been a player among the galaxy's many factions when Mizar was a threat, but if she wanted a war that was just as dangerous... this was it.

Somewhere in the back of her uncontrolled mind, she wondered if heroism would lie in her future.

The girl redoubled her grip on her sword, clicking a hand to her neck. Her headpiece hissed, pulsing a deep red along its few seams, and illuminated lenses extended in front of her eyes, masking her young face with the cold lethality of a machine. Text and images began to swim before her eyes as the heads up display synchronized. A timer ghosted into existence, along with a crude map and other miscellaneous data. The visor was a convenient tool, but not one that November employed often -- its ocean of information was a distraction in battle, but a lifesaver in navigation and tracking efforts. She spun Freyja about her wrist, testing that her motor skills had restored. They had.

"Let's go." she confirmed, and dashed onward.

Lilia has to restrain her own laughter as the Topaz Drone falls off the roof. She wasn’t expecting such a reaction to her poses, but she sure as hell will take it. She’ll also take the help in the form of that man named Vector. She’s glad that he didn’t see her posing though…

“So, how good are you at close-range fighting? Cause I’m a sniper myself.” She says conversationally to Vector as she readies her shock dagger. ‘I’m never leaving home without my SMG again!’ she thinks to herself as she moves to the side, trying to divide the group into two pieces. She’d much rather face two than just jump into the group and have all four on her.

Ryan turned around from the wrecked hangar door and took stock of the situation checking for alternate routes or other things worth noting of interest. Particularly a bigger weapon then the damn auto rifle. Seems as though they were cut off and without missing a beat Ryan is on the comms with his gun drawing a bead he speaks into the comms. "Lambda Leader here, Dennis of Sigma Squad is down, KIA and we're cut off from the hangar with a Class X hostile." His eyes glance over to Dexi Jupiter and J-Man for the moment and then looks up at the ceiling and the floor.

"Spread out and concentrate fire on him and do not stand still for him, I've got an idea." As they open fire he was correct with what went on. That shield was a kinetic barrier, looked like it was made to disintegrate any kind of projectile. He would have tried doing a direct blow but with the disintegrating quality he didn't wanna test that on a limb. However he doubt it could take direct mass if something was heavy or big enough to strike it. In short they'd have to overtax it with an explosive or to cause the ceiling to drop down upon him.

"What's the first thing they tell you in Jet Force when option one doesn't work against a bug?" The answer is an explosive or to hit it from behind. He'd have to count on his team for this next one alongside whomever of Sigma Squad was left or if it was just them. Taking out a trio of Shuriken he flings three of them towards the target with two of them curving slightly. If the Shuriken in front gets vaporized the other two might not for they arc back around and start for the enemy's back. Hopefully that shield wasn't around the entire body.

Alma completely all but ignored the ogles of the various men that stared at her as she passed. Didn't make much sense to glare at every dude and tell them to fuck off, did it? Besides. Her figure was quite the eye candy, anyway. Alma kept herself in top shape, as was a requirement if you wanted to stay alive in her line of work. She soon reached a rather empty pool, having only one other woman in it. Alma lowered herself in, closing her red eyes and heaving a small sigh of relief..which sounded quite odd to her. Like someone else had sighed at the same time. She opened her eyes and glanced over to the other woman, who was looking at her too.
"Well. It's relaxing. Just what I needed."
Alma smiled at the woman's comment, lowering herself even deeper into the hot spring.
Sleep unbeknownst to I, this one lives in perpetual need of coffee..

Emile wakes up with a sigh, tasting spilt liqour on his face. "If I had a dollar for everytime I woke up like this....I could buy a new ship." He picks up Cortana's portable chip and stumbles out of his spaceship. "Looks like I might need a few repairs next time. Well we better get going." He straps his blades to his belt and starts juggling his grenades as he walks in the direction of the shipyard.
