I guess it's just my computer then.
As far as I know, the graphics acceleration was added after Adobe switched to AS3, so it might not apply to AS2 flash files.

I've been trying to explore more of the forum recently and talk to people more.

The code I write probably looks strange to most people.
I've been using Flash for so long that I've gotten used to a lot of advanced programming tricks and some of Flash's obscure features.

I'm not exaggerating, but your code, HumBird, is a gem, not only because its more advanced, for sure, but because of your efforts and the positive result! It let the games more optimized with better collisions and more pleasurable to play. This means more clean code, more realistic games, and quicker to maintain : ) You have great respect here in LoK and I'm proud to talk with you.

It's a shame (for me) that I didn't delve into more advanced flash, but I'm just programming MIM since 15 months ago with the help of Blargh. If we only count the 'active months', I'm been programing for just 7 months. However, me and Blargh decided to create features first, so we can optimize it in the future. For about features, Blargh increased fuck scenes from 4 to more than 22. BTW, I say 'we' but we're programming our games separatelly, although we share code snippets and help each other when we can.

I always tell Blargh he should be adding animations (he's very good with this skill). Eventually we will really be improving the code, as it will still be easier to do than converting AS2 to AS3 (which is far to be a priority). So we can keep improving code areas, which can be interchanged/tweaked without changing the entire game. : ) BTW, we may not convert to AS3 any time soon. (I can't say 'never' because once I master AS3, I will make a bird-eye view to MIM code and I will decide: "Okay, challenge accepted, I will convert it").

In my opinion, the fastest way to learn something is to do a ton of small projects instead of a few big ones.
Every new project teaches something new. especially if they're all different, whereas continuing a big project tends to be just more of the same thing.

As far as learning goes, finishing things is not as important as trying out and experimenting with lots of different approaches.
Most people fall into the trap of trying to be ambitious right away, then they end up "trapped" with a big project, feeling like they're obligated to finish it, even though they have other ideas they want to try.
I fell into this trap too with my big Pokemon game. But I still experiment with small projects in between major updates.

Hey I'm cutting some Peach sound bytes for my project. Was wondering if you wanted me to send some your way. Just tell me what format you want them in and they are urs. ;). Great project you have here, and the only things I have a beef with are the sound and animations.

I have projects of three games (sonic is one of them) : ) But I'm just organizing my time, and MIM will surely be the main priority, like Blargh!

Blargh, I've been checking your FLA (sept 8). I noticed some things.

1) When you go to the gallery mode, the blackscreen is not 100% covering the game. That is, you can see one line of the game behind it, on its top.
2) When you go to the Morton Scene (in the gallery) until the music changes, and you go back to the game pressing 'C' (level 1), the music will be playing throughout all the level. No way to change it back.
3) I did not notice any performance drop in the gallery, even in the Morton and Bath scenes, while in the Toad Lounge area :/ That is, they run really nice, without any sluggish performance in any area.

As I have demonstrated an animated Birdo for ivanaedler's MiMAE, this slutty version is for Blargh's hacked version. I've still have some more animations to do and also I've yet to add shadow tones to both version of Birdos.

Feature creep caught up to me, so now I'm going forward as is; adding levels and movies, and fixing what's broken. I put myself in this trap on purpose because I know I'd go the way of LoK if I didn't push myself to do something, and I don't want to stop working on MiM. It's more of a "if I had more free time" thing.

Looks like Youtube cut off the sound. But I think I should be good on sounds anyway. Ivan earlier posted a file he found (http://legendofkrystal.com/forum/download/file.php?id=6174) with a whole crapton of sounds.

1) Ergh. Okay, I'll do some re-sizing.
2) Ergh x2. Right, because the change to the sound is inside the Morton scene, but the main level sound only occurs when the area is loaded.
3) Probably just my system. I get a few areas of slowdown, but after running through the zone with the gallery up I only found a couple areas where the gallery bath scene slowed down.

Ooh, slut walk. I like it! :D
Question: Is her hand attached, and, if so, will it remain attached?

Don't worry, Birdo's hands are their own separate symbols.

I've made another set of hand gestures which implies I have some other animations planned out for her.

I'm currently in the middle of re-configuring the eyes to sit inside the head (among other things, eyes will no longer sit disconcertingly on top of hair in...most...cases). With my current output, though, I don't know if I'll be finished in time for Saturday's update. Oh, and I picked up an extra shift at work so the update will be on Saturday if there's going to be an update this time. m(_ _)m

UPDATE: Sorry, I'm not able to update this time.

Hey I hope all is well, Blargh. I'm doing some frontside animations (as grabbing vegetables), so I'm confident you will use Peach Frontside animations soon, man. I need to finish the three koopa scenes we talked about earlier.

Blargh Wrote:I think the throne will bring up a credits page while Peach masturbates in the chair. I'd have a new masturbation scene here for each page of credits. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=744&start=380#p25795

I'm just bumping what you've said about Peach using the throne : ) I really like this idea. Maybe letting Peach sit in the chair , during the game, and masturbating from there. Going to credits screen may change some scenes, or let her with an open mouth for example.

That'll be next Friday. Eye fixin's are taking longer than expected to replace, or I would have at least updated with that fix already. I'm going to try for more frequent updating in the future, like I used to. I'm getting too lazy and putting everything off with this two-week schedule, so I'll just post the FLA every couple of weeks and update the game whenever I complete something or when I upload the FLA, whichever comes first.

It's going...I don't remember it taking this long to replace all of the eyes the first time. :/ Maybe it's just nostalgia. >_>

I'm so far behind on animations I could make 2013 the year of animations. <_< Once I get these eyes replaced, I'll head back to working on the koopas.

No problem, Blargh! 2013 can be a enlightening year! But I don't doubt you can surprise the players with nice additions still in 2012, there is still time to explore. Sometimes I read older posts (in almost all threads of LoK foruns) and I get ideas and clues. It's like I re-read them in a different way (like watching the same movie with other thoughts) then they restart some stuck engines in my head.

New update:
- Put all eyes into the head pieces and re-coded all animations for the new eyes (I think; let me know if I missed any)
- Fixed vest layering as I went along
- A few minor changes here and there. Peach reacts to the Bloopers with her eyes now.

Hopefully I'll be able to commit to the new schedule and actually get stuff done. >_> The first post was updated with the info.

Well, Borderlands 2 month is almost over, XCOM month is coming up quick, followed by Halo 4 month and Wii U holidays. The end of the year is nigh, and man oh man do I wish I could stop time. <_< I usually just try to experience something once and just remember the impressions that I had of it. I have troubles remember random details, so I just focus on the more important bits.

But you're forgetting that I have declared that Birdo shall be futa in this version, regardless of canon.

Blargh, please see this ;)
All Peach animations so far.
PS: I've corrected her arm in 'throw vegetable'. Maybe some breasts need to be relocated a bit.
PS2: You will notice I 'de-tilted' her body a bit. Her neck is not curvy anymore.

Thanks again. :) I should have the other Koopa Troopa scene (and an update) done tomorrow. I got halfway through the triple scene and realized it was exactly the same as the Goomba finale. So I scrapped it and am back to the halfway mark on the new version. >_>
