Should I get this game? I was considering on if I should buy it or not.

Guild Wars 2 is similar to a "Massively multiplayer online role-playing game" without the monthly fee. It has many things to do in it like world verse world, player verse player and a main story your character goes through. The game is fun, but its more fun with a friend, so keep that in mind. I got to level 20 before getting bored, which sucks, but sometimes that happens. If your in to that sort of thing than yes it is a buy. However i think you should go to some gaming sites and look at reviews to at least see more of the game to be sure, or maybe even ask Corta. She seems to play Guild Wars 2 over making her game a lot.

im well used to mmprpg games... played one before (one among many) where i had 0 quests to help me lvl, so it was grinding time! 1000 mobs/lvl and 1 lvl/day
my friends couldnt belive their eyes seeing how i lvled 5 times from grinding over 5 days, and i even use the class thats the worst grinder <.<

As far as MMORPGs go GW2 has some refreshing new ideas, but they didn't go and reinvent the wheel.

Quests can - like in all mmorpgs - be reduced to "kill x of that" or "gather y of that". Again there are a few notable exceptions to that, but the majority is as stated.
The main storyline for your charakter is nice and comparable to what SWTOR offered (if you played that). It doesn't have the storyarc of a fullblown single player rpg but still it's a nice touch.

PvP is a mix of the battlegrounds which seem to be the standard these days and a variant of world PvP. In this case a three way Battle Royale between 3 different servers. (Though most of the basics for the Server vs Server were copied from Dark Age of Camelot.)

Generally speaking the overall flair and atmosphere is great. Really great.

The gameplay is fast and if you want to go there quite dynamic. Although there are some classes you can play in a state we usually refer to as "brainafk". The difficulty level varies from class to class and quest to quest from sleeping pill to "how the hell is that supposed to work".

The things you can do with a guild as far as convenience and ingame boni go is quite alot.


There are some serious drawbacks however.
1.) The crafting system in some parts is flawed in the extreme.
2.) You can either PvP in a full group or solo. Theres no chance of participating in a battleground as a partial group.
3.) There is no endgame PvE content besides daily events. if you reach the top, PvP it is. (Or playing an alt...)


Since there is no monthly fee, there are of course other revenue options for the company. A lot of convinience stuff you have to pay for. An example: the storage space you have for things other than crafting materials is rather tiny, buying more space costs money.
Also, unless you buy additional character slots, you can't play all 8 classes, if you're into that.


If you want more details, i can do that. But like S.T.A.L.K.E.R already said, there are quite a few reviews already availlable. Most likely better ones than the one i could cook up.


As someone who's played DAoC, WOW, WAR, ROM and SWTOR, i have to say i like it so far. There are some elements of all of these in there. Or to quote a nice sitcom: one part uppers, one part downers, one part candy.
