Pointless areas in Pokemon?
Also, leveled enemies is a requirement for an RPG as it means there is a consistent level of difficulty.

check out eternal lands...my friend did some work on it and created a "ant" bot...a group of humans that while NPCs they actually level on there ...in case you are interested.

Yes, that's what I'm gonna try next. I kinda want to draw my own model. Let see what I can come up with...

Yeah, sorry for not posting here anymore.

Been busy with drawing on MiM game's and making another costume for corta's platformer. But I always give this "project" at least an hour a day.

I wanted to make an update of what I finish drawing, either the armor sets (which are way difficult to draw by now) or the character model, which is looking great but there are some stuff missing.

One of those is gonna be my next update.

Hm... don't want to leave you with nothing to see, so here:

Ah yes the Chaurus. The bane of many a low level character. (Was for me anyway.)

If this where to be a RPG/platformer (if being the key word, I'm not promising a finished product), does anyone have any ideas on how combat would work? I want there to be some degree of difficulty to it, so it isn't just button mashing.

A combo system could work, but I'm not sure if it would work facing completely different enemies, for example a combo that would work on a human wouldn't hit a wolf at all.

As always, I have an un-thought out idea that has just occurred to me, so I'll throw it out there. Basically there would be three categories of enemies: humanoids, beasts and dragons. When fighting any of these, any attacks are based of what category you are fighting, so the combo xxy would do the same thing against orcs, elfs, humans etc, but do a completely different thing for fighting dragons. How would combos work? I imagine you would have four moves: thu'um, sword attack, shield (parry) and kick (or physical attack (LOTR anyone?). Using any of these moves separately just does a single attack, but pressing a chain of buttons does a combo. Combo's would be unlocked the way you unlocked perks in Skyrim, one per level of your choice.

As for the thu'um, I imagine there would only be a few shouts in the game. Dragons would only be fought as bosses, so you would only get souls rarely. Again, of the top of my head, so not thought out, I would say that there would be four shouts: Whirlwind Sprint, Unrelenting Force, some other useful one I haven't thought of, and a new one I made up. The last one would play a role in fighting dragons, and would function a bit like seduction in Sakyubasu no Tatakai: you would beat the dragon up a bit, then use your shout to increase its lust, and repeat. Once the dragon's lust is full, a sex scene would commence, and upon ejaculation you gain its soul to use. The first level of Unrelenting Force and Lust Shout are unlocked be default, meaning there would be 10 souls to collect and 10 boss battles, each getting harder than the last.

Wow, I just went from "i have no idea, plz help" to having a plan for the whole game in one post.... Anyway, feedback appreciated.

Still a long way to go. (it's harder than I thought...). Can't stick on a model that style is kind of ok and not too bland...

@IrrevelantComment:
Hmmm, I haven't thought that much on gameplay, but I'll tell some stuff anyway.
I like the idea of different enemy types, but I don't know, how will you pull that off? I'm thinking of my (limited knowledge on) coding and the only way I think it'll work is that when the character hit the enemy (hittest = true), it will check if it's a humanoid, beast or dragon, and then it will start the designed combo. This means that the character will never activate a combo being afar of enemies, it will just do a generic swing animation (it needs to be this way, so that there isn't conflict with all other animations; well, at least on my little knowledge).

Also, did you say combo system? You have to teach how that work :D . The only way I know is to leave a determined button pressed down... and that sucks a bit...

As for the four moves and shouts; it sounds nice, but I have to give it some thoughts.

As for dragons', never thought it that way. I had imagine a "go to dungeon/lair --> fight dragon --> fuck scene go!" but again, have to give it some thoughts.

Thinking about it, for a lot of the combos it wouldn't matter what you were fighting, however some of them would need slightly different variants, in which case you just make the first attack generic, and if it connected to a beast you would do a slightly different anim for the second attack.

Ok, I kinda see how it work; have to try this sometime and inspect it a bit more.

Still, this really excite me, never got to make combos in the past with different keys/command input. I really want to see this in action! (I have to convince myself even more to finish the stuff I'm drawing right now...)
