Quick Herm "sketch" of sorts.

Postby The One » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:27 am

Alrighty. I've had Adobe Flash CS4 sitting on my computer for a while now. Quite a tricky little bugger to use. I haven't goten into the animation aspect of things but I've figured out how to place different pieces.

I noticed there was a discussion about Herm characters. Eventually, I was going to try to edit all of the male characters out of the game and replace them with herm versions. For those that are into such things. After playing around with Flash for a while, I was able to create a simple image that I've yet to animate.

This is littereally the third time I've had flash open and the first time for over 15 minutes. So as I said, no animation yet. Still trying to figure that out and any help would be appreciated. Anywho... on to the smexiness!

I think this idea is full of win and awesome sauce, and I approve.

Then you should approve of this second image. All I need to learn how to do is smoothly transition from point A to point B. :p

Yup, maybe we need to find someone good at flash AND that approves. Sadly I have no skills that can help here.

Can't believe my first outting with Flash is one that includes cartoon porn, herms, and furries.

Ah well, it's hot as hell.

Creating the animation is quite annoying though. I have no idea what I'm doing. It would probably be easier for me to create a gif. :p

Well, since I stink at animating (haven't been able to animated a single thing), I guess I could take on the role of "useless concept artist". Artist there having no real meaning what-so-ever.

At least mybe I can pitch som ideas.

Anywho, another screenshot!

I know, I know. The hand is fucked up. But you should be able to get the idea.

Sorry for the triple post but I thought I would post my last "concept" before getting off the computer for the night. Something a little nicer than the herm doms posted above. ;)

If anybody could take these ideas and animate them, that would be ten times more awesome than mint flavored dental floss. And I LOVE my mint flavored dental floss. Plus I'd give you ten thousand internets. Whatever that's worth.

Anyway... behold... Krystal/Lizard Herm 69!

I think I love you.
I'd rather prefer a lizard girl being a herm than Krystal. I can agree to herms in the game as long as it's like this.
And finally we have more than just oral being done!
You rock.

I agree with everything. See the "You rock" at the end? I agree with that, too.

If you've figured out how to position the characters then there isn't a whole lot more required for animating them :)
Provided all the pieces are on separate layers (as they should be if you copied from existing symbols), you just need to add in some frames by selecting all the layers and pressing F5, choose a "column" of frames as your target position (to transition to from what you already have), then hit F6 or right-click and convert to keyframes. Set up the new position, (or copy in from an existing "sketch"), then convert the whole lot to classic tween. Suddenly you have a basic (and likely quite odd looking) transition from pose one to pose two, all you need then is to tweak the bits that out of alignment by selecting that frame and making it a keyframe too, then tweaking the position.

Well T1, as everybody else has already said, cool stuff you have here.

I think it's perfectly okay if you act as a concept artist of sorts here. The animators already have their hands full doing their stuff, so having somebody give them the visual reference of another person's idea may help them in the long run. Imagine somebody working trying to get an idea down, animating it and then realizing that they don't like it. You would be saving them all that work that could have been focused on something else

and also, Yay, first 69 "pic" of LoK! Yeah, we had symmetrical docking with Peach and Krystal before, but there's just something about good ol' 69 with a herm.

I'm liking this ^^
The only thing you might want to fix when making conceptual poses is Krystal's eye. It was the only thing really driving me nuts--everything else is great.
Yeah, as Ren said, its easy to animate a frame once you've figured out where everything goes. Problem is that its very time consuming--and takes a while to really get the hang of and becomes an art in itself. So take your time, show us what you got.

Yeah, it's sometimes annoying trying to place the eye right where it's supposed to be. So she has a sort of roaming eye in some of the pics. :p

Thanks for the tips, Renara. I'll try that later on and see how it works out. I was reading the help file for Flash and I think I at least know what half of the stuff is for. It's just all in the placement, I guess. I was taking some scenes out of the v.02 fla you guys have posted and trying to make sense of them. It's all Greek to me.

Then I was going to do some frame by frame animations... basically glorified gifs, I guess. Bu it was weird, I would add a new keyframe, and if I modified Krystal's pose at all, it would keep her that way for all of the frames. Quite the frustrating problem for me. :p

Ah, sounds like there wasn't a keyframe where you needed one, this is why when starting out it is a good idea to make sure tweening is enabled on every pieces, even if they're not all going to move, that way you can go to a frame and just start dragging pieces around, Flash will automatically add keyframes to tweened objects.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but do all the help files all the way through. Its how I learned flash (and then video tutorials). Oh yeah, by the way, the magic word is tween.

Great work overall, T1!

Are you still gonna attempt to replace the male characters? It sounds like a very interesting idea! ;)
I don't think I'd have ever thought of that myself... Thats why you make the big bucks!
BTW, I'm the resident wannabe. :\

That's quite the undertaking.. Tho perhaps not, not if you learn a bit about the replace symbol tool in Flash. With use of that and a little tweeking to the females static shape work, might be compleatly possible to have a all 'girls' verson of things. It would require additonal animation added to the busts so there not just sitting there while the Liz's are driving away, but, with some planning I don't see why this could not be done.

I second this, it's how I learned it too, about 7 years ago. Never thought I'd be using this knowledge for some weird stuff hehe.
