When you arrive at the smith, you can see that the sweat is still flowing all over the place. He looks up at you and smiles. “So you got it, eh? Faster than I had expected too.”; He hammered a sword he was making a few more times before dropping it in a bucket with water that was standing next to him. “I'll just retrieve my pickaxe. 'Inventory – pickaxe.'.”; Before you knew what had happened, he was holding his pickaxe in his hands again. Opening the old wooden drawer again, he threw his pickaxe back into it before shutting it again. “Send me a trade request, and I'll give you your sword for your bars, depending on the material you've gathered. Seeing how fast you gathered it, it was probably copper, am I right?”.

Then, a long range of text appeared as a scoreboard of sorts.

After fumbling around with what to you looked like the thin air, the text was sent back to you that 'the trade request have been accepted.'
In the slots on his side, he put in a short sword made of copper. Then, after pressing accept, the two of you traded.
'Inventory updated! Copper short sword added.'
Then, a tooltip appeared.
'Did you know: Weapons do not give direct bonuses to your stats. Instead, each weapon have a small effect that varies depending on the type of weapon you're using.
Did you know: Swords are simple weapons, and also have a simple effect. The common effect that every sword adds to your attack, is a bit of offensive stat efficiency and a bit of added pain. If you have next to no offense, the effect of the sword will dwindle, while if you have a lot of attack, the effect will be boosted.'
