Love the game so far, but I agree with the iateacrayon, I think the trainers should be put back in to original places when leaving the area(or far enough away from them if possible), they ended up blocking me in the Cerulean gym before. Also, it might be helpful to maybe put a sign, maybe a riddle or something explaining that you had to look for the key, it took me a little while to find out what to do next since I was trapped from exiting because of the old lady and the Team rocket member stopped me from going forwards. Anyway, great game, lovin it! Oh and the bug about the pokeball found in wilderness as well(unless intended) happened to me as well, where it showed up as a pokeboll instead of ball.

I use Flash version 8. Which was the last version to use only Actionscript 2 before they started AS3.
The level editor was programmed in that version and then re-compiled through MDM Zinc version 2.5 to add the ability to save files and read the contents of folders.

Do you happen to still have the source code?

would you ever be able to catch any of the main characters with the rocketballs yours self, say like misty or may (i only know the english names) i think the resulting conversation from your new "pokemon" when ever used in battles could be humorous

Hmm... The tricky thing about this is that I'd probably have to create 2 versions of each story scene that comes afterwords.
Which could theoretically be twice as much work.
But... that just mght be worth it.
Nothing adds more replay value than having to miss out on alternate possibilities during a playthrough.

Yes, I still have the source code for the editor.
I've been too embarassed to share it because its code is a bit sloppy and a few pieces of code aren't even used.
A lot of the sloppiness came from attempting to code it "the right way" using recommended best-practice techniques instead just taking more comfortable approaches.
I still update it though.
Just yesterday, I was re-creating a file-selector combo-box to replace the half-broken ones it has been been using so far.
For the most part, the new ones work much better. I just have to fix a glitch with how they handle receiving focus and they should be pretty much perfect.

definitely. I don't remember where, it's been a long time since i played humbird0's game, but if you keep playing you're guarenteed to get real pokeballs.

You go to the jail and talk to the guy who stole 15 pokeballs, he will tell you were the key is and just go towards that direction and grab the 15 pokeballs.

In Viridian City, the town right after Pallet, you can get a bunch of pokeballs.

1 - Talk to the thugs in the lower-right part of town.
2 - Go to the Viridian jail and ask the prisoner about pokeballs.
3 - Follow his advice.
4 - Use the key you find to open one of the storage trailers.

You can also capture a diglett and make it evolve to dugtrio then use his ability to capture others! It's damned convenient!

I fix and reduce source codes for a living, so it couldn't be too hard.

Don't worry about that. I'm not insisting on evolved pokemon looking older, it just seemed like a cool idea at the time.

Anyway, I really like your Abra's personality. Maybe it's the hair.
Most people's pokemorphs have very little distinct personality. They're just generic smiling faces.

I don't need any help with the programming. Everything already works.

The documentation isn't thorough, complete, up-to-date, or even kept all in one place. That's not a problem for me since the most important parts were originally written in my notebook. I transcribed most of the notes into text files which I think are included.
But there's so much to explain about how it works I wouldn't really know where to begin.
I have gotten somewhat better with my approach to documenting things in recent years.
I don't have any trouble editing it since I remember how it's structured and usually just look at the code and the comments I left for myself. But I rarely need to edit the GameEditor itself since it all works fine.
It took about 6 months before it was feature-complete, and I gradually added and improved it over the years since then.

I guess so.
I haven't made any particular plans for them, but then again, I only made detailed plans up through Celadon city.
Fuschia, Cinnabar, and the areas in between all of the cities are pretty much open for ideas.
