Crimson Daggers

Postby Reaver » Sun Jun 24, 2012 4:35 am

Finished with 25 mins to spare :D and this is my first Rp so don't expect to get yor mind blown but i'll try my best.

Ever since you were little your parents (if you had any) told you stories about the Imperial family that ruled the city of Romundus. After the war that split the land, a man with an army came into the city and took over. Not much was known about him and his family except they had powers beyond humans and enough resources to have guards patrolling the city and it's gates 24/7. They put a curfew in place and anyone caught outside was made an example of by the brutal imperial guards. They cracked down on crime and destroyed all but the two strongest thief guilds. With only a couple of citizens willing enough to form a rebellion it seems that fighting was worthless, but with the occasional reports of groups of guards killed or a supply wagon hijacked there's still hope. What forms is a three way battle between the guilds and the Imperials in the shadows and everyone waiting to see who will emerge. But everyone wonders why the King doesn't just overrun them.

Imperial guards- The enforcers of the ruling family. They have special privileges which allow them to do almost anything they want, earning them the hatred of most of the citizens. Equipped with better weapons and armor, they have orders to kill any guild members that commit any crimes or get in their way, but sometimes they take captives for other reasons than interrogation. Also sightings of the Elite Imperial battlemages is rare but they are a force not to be trifled with. Especially since anyone that wields magic is part of the Imperial family.

Tarturk thief guild- preform most of the small scale robberies, pickpocketing in the city. More idealistic, try to help the people and want to overthrow the ruling family so things go back to the way things were before. Hates the other thief guild because they feel that the guild is the imperial's puppet. Most Tarturks can count on citizens to help them out if in small amounts of trouble.

Jareark thief guild- preform the assassinations and most of the blackmailing in the city. They don't really care about to small war between the other guild and the Imperials, they just try to do jobs as normal and occasionally do a few for the imperial family. It gives them a little more leeway with the guards but not by much. They hate the other guild because they feel that they are bringing attention down on both guilds and are going to get them destroyed with their rebellion.

The Warrens
Mostly made up of the poor district, the Warrens is a maze of houses stacked on houses and riddled with alleyways and speakeasies. The locations of both of the thieve guilds are somewhere in there but any attempt by Imperial guards to flush them out is meet by ambushes in alleyways and confusion from the enormity of the Warrens. Although it keeps the Imperials mostly away it isn't necessarily a safe haven for the thieves. With almost no Imperial presence, it is a area filled with crime, cut-throats and other criminals with no allegiance to the guilds.

The Marketplace
When the Imperial family took over they completely reworked how the economy. They took out all the independent merchants and have them jobs selling only imperial merchandise. It is a area always bustling with people selling wares or buying. It's very easy to be lost in the crowd and most of the stores have backwoods leading into alleyways, although it really matters who the shopkeeper supports.

The Castle
The imperial stronghold that shadows the whole city. Ever mysterious it is always said to be very good or very bad to enter. Built with the strongest materials a head on attack on it would be very costly. Its back connects with the high walls that encircle the city and both of those walls are always patrolled with elite guards, while a courtyard below hosting the homes of the prominent middle and upper class. Only the people of the inner court and battlemages are provided housing here and anyone not living here better be carefull.

think i'll make my bio now lol

Character Sheet -

Name: Camisa "Cami" Civelni
Age: 19
Faction: Imperial Guard - Spy
Appearance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Weapons: x3 daggers (good for throwing or wielding like combat knives; they're hidden in her dress), vial of choking poison + vial of sedative (can be applied nearly anywhere; mithridatism renders Cami immune to the type of sedative she uses)
Armor: None
Specialty: Martial Arts (Cami is competent with much CQC and can restrain the largest and toughest), Poisons + Potions, Sneaking, Counterintelligence

History: Cami was, from a young age, a thief. Her single father -- raised a fisherman, then living as a petty thief in the filth of the Warrens -- wasn't aligned with any of the guilds or organizations populated with Romundus, meaning he had to raise his twin daughters with only the skill of his hands to bring in income. The trio were just water under the bridge, for the longest time. While her father managed to escape the authorities numerous times and pass on his knowledge to his daughters, he still yearned for what he once had. A solid house, steady income and a loving family. He owed no allegiance to the local thieves' guilds, even the most powerful, and thus was often at odds competing with the more expansive and well-supplied guilds for even the smallest of finds. It was out of necessity, then, that he conspired with the Imperials in secret. Able to play both sides, Cami's father doubled his income and in turn passing on valuable knowledge and wealth to his daughters.

Cami was able to grow up well educated and in good health because of this. She was still a thief by trade for most of her teen years, but it was when she had come to realize just how pathetic this life would likely be that she decided to follow in her father's (who had managed to buy his way into a nicer area of the city, allowing Cami to roam free while he kept his other daughter at home to school her in an effort to boost her chances of going to university) footsteps and officially step into the realm of counterespionage once she had been eyeing after she decided to expose a high-ranking member of the Jareark guild in exchange for a lump sum from the Imperials. Her talent with poisons, deception, sneaking and the world of thievery in general made her an ideal candidate as a counterspy working on the Imperials behalf. In return for her services and charms, she'd receive a nice house of her own, protection, a generous stipend, a decent education and a wardrobe of custom tailored clothing.

Of course, Cami's hardly devious. If anything, she just considers herself to be making the most of a bad situation considering she owes no personal favors or ties to any of the local guilds or organizations.

As her father's told her many times to keep her spirits up: "The only person you should look out for is yourself in this city. When you're away to university and rolling in wealth is when you'll know any lies you made paid off. That's just how it is, kiddo."

Name: Ryuuga Musashi.

Age: 25.

Appearance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Faction: Tarturk Guild.

First weapon: Genjitsu. A kodachi (Japanese short-sword) whose name means "reality." Its blade is forged with an imprint of a lightning bolt running from hilt to tip, and is the "brother" sword of...

Second weapon: Densetsu. A second kodachi - dual-wielded with Genjitsu - whose name means "legend." Where lightning is imprinted on Genjitsu's blade, Densetsu instead carries the imprint of a long spout of flame. Densetsu also has a hollow in its hilt, which Genjitsu can fit its blade into, and vice-versa. This is often utilized for a trademark technique of Ryuuga's, in which he "joins" the swords together and tosses them both straight forward. As the first blade is deflected, the second blade slips out of the hilt's hollow, striking through the opening in the enemy's guard. The name he has for this technique is "Kyofu Taiho." (translation: Gale Cannon)

Armor: Ryuuga is rather minimal in his use of armor, and what he does wear is built more for evading and redirecting force than simply tanking through it. Among that armor is a leather chest-guard, reinforced with a frame of light steel; a pair of leather gloves, with thin steel plates that are slightly curved to allow deflection of a smaller blade; and a hardened leather cup hidden in his pants, just in case some low-life goes for a nut-cracker. Hey, you never know...

Specialty: Combat. Specifically at close-range, and where agility takes precedence.

Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Ryuuga's ancestors were guardians of the royal family, always watching over them in secret, behind the scenes. And not the current royal family, either, but one that existed before the current tyrants in power. Back in those days, the rulers held onto their power through the people's adoration, as opposed to their fear. But alas, those days are but distant past now. Today, the Imperial family has abolished the standards that old rulers were held to. Gone is the concept of honor within the government, replaced only by corrupt bigotry, and behavior that makes the land seem more like their playground than their country. The common man means little more than dirt to them, and can be drawn and quartered for simply glancing at a guard in a "suspicious" manner. It's sickening, how the guards that were once sworn to defend the people, now use them for target practice...or even worse...

Well, Ryuuga's not a fan of the new "law of the land"...not...one...bit. To him, there is nothing more vile than officers of the law who are not only allowed, but sometimes encouraged to commit such horrid transgressions under the banner of "authority." Despite the nature of their lives' work, his ancestors were always doing it for the country, not simply for its ruler.

It reached the point of no return shortly after his 9th birthday...when his father, a blacksmith for oriental metal-works and cutlery, was arrested on claims of "supplying arms to rebel forces." Why? Simply because one of his dining knives came out a little misshapen, and looked like a thief's dagger. No guild insignia, no real evidence to support their claims, nada. They just hoisted him up, slammed him on his own anvil, and took their time literally skinning him alive, his screams of agony only ceasing when they cut out his tongue to "quell his treasonous outburst." Then, they turned to his mother, claimed that she was "guilty by association," and proceeded to rape her, impaling her with that freshly-forged, misshapen knife after they had all been sated. Then...they turned to Ryuuga himself...

But before they could lay so much as a knick on him, a man whose face was wrapped in cloth jumped in through the window, drawing the guards' attention to him. They demanded to know his name, to which he replied: "It would be wasted on brigands like you." Naturally, this enraged the guards, who all rushed him at once, swords raised to strike his head simultaneously...only to have their blades repelled by one katana, and their bodies cloven at the waistline by a second blade. Ryuuga was only able to see the man begin unwrapping his face - catching a glimpse of golden, tiger-like eyes - before the emotional shock caused him to pass out.

When he awoke, Ryuuga was sitting not in the abode he was nearly slain in...but in the backyard of a house foreign to him, on a patch of soft, green grass. The mysterious man from earlier turned out to not be truly human...but rather, a human-tiger hybrid, by the name of Kouga Zanbo. After the expected routine of "are you okay" and such, Kouga asked a simple, yet fundamental question about the guards: "Do you want to stop them?" Obviously, Ryuuga's answer was "yes," to which Kouga added: "And how far will you go to stop them?" Ryuuga paused for a bit on that one, as it's not one you hastily answer...but after the pause, his answer was: "As far as it takes."

"Very well. Then I shall train you for the trials you will one day face."

Since then, Ryuuga knew Kouga as his "sensei," receiving training in the two-sword style of Zanbo Mugenjin, and revealing that he had quite the knack for swordsmanship. The rest is just unnecessary babble, so by now, he's joined up with the so-called criminal thief guild of Tarturk, with the aim of doing what he swore to do years ago: stop the Imperial guard's rampant madness, for the good of all those in Romundus. No man, beast, weather, or even super-human power will quell his thirst for true justice, until it has been so rightfully served.

Napsii- sounds really good like it a lot
Zender- very nice but wouldn't be so hasty to say nothing will stand in your way ;) especially when the king is a super powered magical man ;) also those two mini swords could count as one weapon if you plan on dual wielding them.

Name: Dax Sierra
Age: 19
Faction: Tartuk Guild
Appearance: Short and very skinny from street life. Has unkempt Blonde hair that hangs to his shoulders, where blue gray eyes peirce the curtain of hair.
Weapons: Carries 2 daggers that he pickpocketed from a gaurd captian. They blades are of black steel and glow with a black aura.
Armor: Wears black light leather amor with fingerless gloves.
Specialty: Pickpocketing.
History: Dax was born into a poor family in the warrens and was soon abandoned as his family could no longer afford to pay to care for him. He grew up on the streets usuing his deft hands to eke out a living and his hatred of not only his family for leaving him but the Imperial guard for cuasing it and slowly one hate over took the other and grew with each passing morn and night. He grew up more and one day happened upon a captian of the guard foolish enough to wonder into the Warren with two strange daggers in his belt. The daggers felt his hatred and called out to him and he felt strangely compelled to take them and kill this man. And so he did. He snuck up behind the man and slit the man's throat with his own daggers and claimed them for himself. With his new weapons and a need for companionship he sought out the only guild worth joining in his opinion, Tartuk Guild.

If your dual wielding something that isn''t too heavy like knives or daggers, it only counts as one weapon.
Dax- aprroved, I like it he sounds like a nice guy to be around if he's a imperial guard.
