(Aw shit, while I was talking about it a while back, I forgot to mention something else about the Dark path.
The whole "Samantha decides that she's going to be the one to keep your slaves in line" thing is another thing that put me off, somewhat.
Keepin' 'em in line is my business, I don't recall telling her she could lay a hand on a single one, to enforce any of her ideals whatsoever.
I mention it because, not being able to tell just how many points I am FROM starting the dark path, I keep on accidentally getting shunted into that shit.
Ya see, many, though not all, of the dark choices jump out at me as being the only choice to make.
So I make 'em, but unfortunately I can't tell which one puts me over the threshold, so I've gotta do a lot of save-scumming.
It's like ... c'mon, man, I don't like the Dark Path because of things UNRELATED to the dark choices.
Whore out the slaves? At all possible opportunities? Well, OF COURSE. Let 'em disobey me? WELL OF COURSE NOT.
Be unnecessarily petty or cruel, and have Samantha decide that she's somehow of a higher standing than the rest of them, to keep them in line? ... Well, no. What the fuck.)
Anyway, I haven't finished my playthrough of this new update - in fact, even though I now have the time I lacked before, so that I can play the thing properly, at my leisure, I'm still only almost done with the same content that was previously in the game XD - but the new battle mechanics are kinda interesting.
Not gonna lie, I prefer the old "Start with a finite amount of mana, for everybody" system, but the new one's not at all terribad.
I'd REALLY have preferred the red energy to persist between battles, though, instead of having Ralph and Sarah start with 0 every single time.
As far as girls go, Sarah's still my favourite, but I haven't seen ANY of the new ones as yet.
As far as the plot goes, I'm somewhat interested to see just where the new church peeps get their power, and I gotta say, that one priest dude in the chapel where you learn about their doctrines looks pretty awesome.
Welp, that'll be it for now.
Oh, also.
You can disarm man-eating plants, and you "knock the weapon free" to presumably reduce their attack power although they ... seem to be unarmed.
It's kinda hilarious.
Also, ran into a bug, which sort of brings things to a halt.
I'm at the desert base, in front of the fireplace, and the game keeps on mentioning that I "ought to rest the night" before proceeding onwards.
...It says that no matter how many times I rest in the base, yo.
Dunno if that's related or unrelated to my not razing the Orc town. I got Angelica and went about my business, because I do not give a single fuck.
(It's also kinda odd how Samantha shows up in the base for the Pinkhair's scene even if you've left her at the brothel)
