Most digital artist use photoshop and Sai, i prefer sai its faster smaller and easier to use

I don't really have to tools or knowledge for making any great works of art that could compare really, but I happened to play around with MS paint one time and got a night sky to look half decent... sort of. The moon is better than I can normally do.

Um... except the extention ".bmp" isn't allowed... Anyone got a free art program that works on a laptop and can do something other than .bmp?

I'm guessing that you don't mean MS Paint? If that's not the case then please explain, making a new pic just gives me a .bmp! I'll check out Gimp though (even though it sounds like it's crippled. :p)

I do have a question... How the hell do you not know how to change file types? This is a big thing in today's world. Anything digital might require you to change the save type of a file just because the default save type might not give you the desired effect.

Also, what are the features of .Tiff ? I've never heard of it or even seen it.

I highly suggest you pick it up. It outclasses MS Paint 100-fold.
