Fifth... standard canned complaint about the main character. Look, I've said before that I appreciate that this game is called "Rise of the Dark King," and that a certain amount of dark is to be expected, but... well, I'm having trouble reconciling the guy who, in my game, gave a poor teenager a pile of money to keep her out of prostitution with the guy who's scouting this town out for conquest and mass enslavement at the hands of his dark masters. He even tells Yolande that he wants to make things better for everyone! I'm not sure whether or not he's being led through a groove by Elektra (Electra?), but if he is a little more telegraphing would be a nice hint. As it stands, I'm only really certain that Darius isn't in full control of his actions because I simply cannot make his actions make sense any other way.
Sixth: Let me be perfectly clear. I like being a goody-two-shoes. I thought that the scene where I accidentally gave all the party's money to that girl was hilarious, especially once Yolande pointed out that there's nothing to spend it on anyway. I even think good!Darius is an interesting character in his own right... just not a consistent one, but hey. That's what the brainwashing theory's for. I enjoy your game, and, despite my whining... I don't foresee myself ragequitting in a huff like I did at the impossibly hypocritical, protagonist-centric morality of, say, the Architect's MGU RPG.

The last person's post is making me think that there may be a level of complexity more to this game than I thought. That said, I believe there is both a certain amount of active and inactive brainwashing going on. The active bits are whenever he's in the presence of Elektra. The inactive bits however are simply a result of his revival and transformation. Let it be absolutely clear (from what I've managed to understand anyways) that Darius is now, a Nightspawn. He is no longer human, so there's going to be some changes occuring in his mind. So his moral viewpoint's going to become a little warped anyways (In fact, that might be the entire point)
But...but being a goody two shoes is just so...just so... *gag* booooring. And oh so predictable. Not that being a total evil bastard is any more fun, cause its as predictable as being a goody two shoes.
which is why I think I like this game. Its chaotic, and chaos is such a wonderfuly delicious thing. I personally prefer greyish characters, which Darius can certainly be if you do things right.
Just wanting to say this ahead of time. While I don't think your going to do a ragequit, I have a feeling that your not going to necessarily enjoy this game as much as some of us who don't mind playing evilish characters.

The story line is rather capturing in comparison to anything else- it motivates me more in the game rather than the here there h-scenes. I do rather enjoy the irony of a hero who is meant to be evil what not, it adds to the amusement.
However, Having the need to save and replay the game many times inorder to find the different branching possibilities is rather annoying, although I do suppose its a part of the appeal to it, it took me several times to unlock different routes, and I think I'm still missing some. It is also rather hard to trigger certain events, or rather, their is no specific guide as to how to trigger each event, suppose you can look into that by adding a quest menu option- it helps keep track of what your doing, cause there are people out there (me) who forgets about what he is meant to do after 15 minutes of walking around.
Aside from that, its a pree amusing game in general.
And now, to my actual point...I'm stuck at the harbor bit where I'm meant to find Johnny who is swiping commoners to the east or something. No luck finding him soo far. Help anyone?
*Edit, never mind, triggered the event. This game infact takes a little bit of brain power to play huh....
