From what a large amount of people are saying, Kony might still be at large (at least until after 2010) but has been greatly diminished in power with various people hunting him down.Needless to say, the KONY2012 video is looking very shady at the moment.

I think he meant 3/1 or 4/1 the population ON EARTH. meaning that there would be triple or quadruple the number of people floating in space as there is on earth itself. One problem though... to gain the resources nessicary to do such a thing we would have to bring alot of minerals to earth, thus increasing our mass and gravitational pull. If we increase it by to much we could fall into the sun unless we speed up our orbit or distance ourselves to counter these effects.

Whoah whoah whoah. Where's the need to bring anything to Earth in order to colonize space? All you need to do is start mining asteroids to make space stations.

Also, to have any significant effect on the orbit of earth, you'd have to crash something like 5% of Earth's mass into it at orbital velocity in the wrong direction. That's a hell of a lot, and you'd run into more serious issues than orbit loss if you were to do that. (one example of a bad thing would be a catastrophic asteroid crash, another would be a ton of gaseous rock solidifying in the sky and raining down. Rock hail hurts...)

Geez. That could be a depiction of the future, you know... There's a large asteroid heading for a near miss soon, and when it does we'll know whether the asteroid will miss on its next pass or if it'll hit us squarely. That's mass extinction status! O.O

Hmmm, lets see... we not only have several space stations and satellites in orbit around us but also a bunch of unused ICBMs with several warheads each. yet no one wants to use the same tech we use to launch outdated probes to take pictures of Jupiter to send a nuke after that SOB before it hits us, not to mention we have enough to blow ourselves up a few thousand times over so it's not like 1 medium sized nuke is going to be missed.
