Toddy, why the HELL do you need a scanner? It's a digital file. Save it to your comp and open it in whatever program you want. That is, unless I'm totally reading that wrong, but still.

I was basing it in the the Gladiators battlestyle(ludiac ordinarii) and not in kenjustu/kendo/fencing(euro hema)/etc. You may notice the use of one-handed weapons, such as Gladius, Daggers and Shields. That havent much resemblance to the fencing perforation style, and even less with kendo, since the basic base of it is the use of brute force with a one-handed weapon and a shield to corner, drill and cut the enemy; totally excluding the beheading and amputation(unless the enemy has surrendered ofc).

That move/stance FDmonkey made, is called fake swing, used to attract the opponent's attention to attack with the shield. I trust him, I really believe that there is nothing wrong with the movement/stance

What im trying to mean is: We're just basing the gamestyle in the Greek and Roman battle arts. We researched it, so i dont think the stances are wrong. Lets just remember the world have lots n lots of fighting styles with the sword.

Ah, and they arent naked ;OOO Ill read the msg. ;P

Well, even for roman centurions and such, it's just that the center of gravity is very high and typically they had their base rooted more, I mean their legs spread rather far. Typical movies and such of course show them standing tall and proud, but really if you aren't sinking your bottom down a foot or two, you are too high!

But like I said movies show them standing tall, why? It looks cooler, scarier and such. I did saber, so actually share stances with broadswords and the same ethos lol... Epee ticked me off but I did dabble in it, of course lol. The center of gravity has to be lowered in order to give you more range of movement, you can use your coiled muscles etc for stronger strokes. Widening the feet, and having them facing opposite directions so you can't be knocked off balance and shtuff.

Just minor things they don't add in many historical things... Also another thing they would hold the sword half hilt down as well, it's where the balance points are usually! x3 sorry I are like that. But it's not supposed to be super realistic, tis a show game!

Though it'll make the game so much better if the stance and all is realistic. And since it's a rough draw, that'll make correvting such stuff easier. Isn't that the purpose of a rough? I say follow Valaska's advice if possible. It is constuctive feedback after all, and highly valuable from an actual combatant. Besides, the advice makes sense. After reading it, and looking over the pics again, I can see where he is coming from. You can't get much power into your swing if you are standing like in figure 1 and just swinging your arm. And anyone blocking like that in figure 2 would more likely fall over then not. And is figure 3 doing a shield bash, because if not, she'll likely fall over though lack of support. if so, then good job catching the action just as she hits someone.

Cos I have almost no expirence in actual sword fighting, and is likely to be totally wrong, but that's just how it feels to me.
