It'd be awesome if I had something to show off today, but I managed to waste 2 hours by deleting a few of animations..
but everything is fine, now!

For me, the game used to run ...adequately.. but it turns out that I've got a pretty monster rig compared to the average message-sending internetter.
so, today's work fixed a massive deal of lag and control bugs and some other things that've really been bothering me since development started.
and all of that is actually implemented and working, but I'm holding off 'till I've got this batch of character animations down. (tomorrow, I promise)

so, you'll get to enjoy that stable, loss-less, double-digit ..I know, right? frame-rate and a non-spastic camera that 'the people' want.

just not today.

@red, depending on which direction your facing when they grab you, it can change the rape scene.

What would be awesome is if we could also customize a monster :D

how have i never thought of suggesting that o.o that would be amazing o.o but im assuming lots of work plus it would be the same animation no matter what teh customize is, unless theres ALOT OF WORK put into it, though that really is a great idea xD

The monsters and the animation are tailored to each other so i don't think it's likely.
I know! we force contra to make the game then we send it to EA/ spore to upgrade it to a over priced version.

so, it turns out that I promised to go drinkin' tonight.. so my afternoon just flew out of the window, not to mention that my new gravity system crashes flash every time you land..

I'm off to a great start.
I've got plenty of plans for stuff you guys will like, though - I'll try and make it up to everyone when I can. :oops:

which is why i said it is a nice idea but would require crazy amounts of work unless it was made where "custom" has the same animation regardless of what parts are used, but even then it would be pretty difficult

one update.

##Update: March 3rd.
--Added: Ridley demo and several small-time animations that you won't notice.
--Fixed: re-worked camera and gravity (partially. it ain't over, yet.) framerate should be improved (active processes cut in half.)

--Notes: Ridley is broken as fuck and the camera my be worse than ever.


neither flash, my family, friends nor work wanted me to get an update done this week, but here's a bit of a start.

Ridley demo:
he needs quite a bit of investigating, but he's got a basic map-out of how I want his AI. (he'll get a backwards attack, another grapple and a sexy death animation, eventually.)
Some of his grabs work, some don't work like I tell them to.. it's the same damn code, flash - do the SAME thing with it!
I want him to have 2 lives when he's running, so you can only bug him out for now.

probably don't bother with Ridley bug reports till the next update, there's lots to be done.

Camera and Gravity:
sounds easy, right?
NOPE.

I used to think I was smart, but now I can't align two moving pieces..
you may notice the old gravity bugs on certain maps (springing, bouncing, mega-jumps, weird landing :roll:) I don't know why, hopefully nobody else cares.
oh, and it's more obvious now that I've got the "additional idles" system going -- freakin' sweet.


oh, and performance may or may not be better.
I can't tell.


in the near future:
* I'm working on a 'smart' way to focus a camera between multiple sprite layers. fingers crossed.
* Some new girls, Cortana and dovahkiin along with any other good ideas.
* Power-Melee/Charge-shot button. will make melee more interesting, hopefully.

I really like the animations and customization options in the game. I know the development is still in a early phase, but I noticed that combat isn't really effective, isn't it? If you happen to have animals in the game at some point it might look different... XD), so I tried to actually fight enemies and your ranged attacks does almost no damage at all. don't like the style? don't like having to dodge? need power attacks!?

and gang-rapes are about as speedy as they come, really. the time-out is meant to be the pay-off for skipping combat.
want to play - dodge more, live more.
want to watch - don't.

but, I'll take any good ideas from around here into consideration.

and animals? I don't draw my own baddies, but the next enemy I'm looking at would be dark link.

By the way Ridley is broken and there's a lot of bugs and broken stuff, with broken and broken, don't forget the glitches with the broken things :lol: I can't wait to see your updates :D

The combat takes a bit of getting used to, but apart from the Space Pirates with their ranged attacks, the enemies are no problem once you've gotten accustomed to it.

Dat one-handed control scheme.

Also, I like how these games basically create an awesome framework around awesome animations. Breathes new life into the animations, in a way.
