Her fragile figure would slouch against the wall, finding a resting place furthest from the door, her eyes locked on the handle, simply waiting, listening too the footsteps that seemed too enchant her fears, creating strong aches throughout her chest. She hadn't much clue of the time, unwillingly too consider the odds of her actually surviving till morning, then again, even then the officers would surely return. Her eyes glancing across the room, looking for another escape, the sight of an old fire escape catching her eye and yet it seemed in need of repair, the railings battered and rotten from the lack of care, possibly falling at the slightest weight applied too it.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.
