Want to report a bug?

What is a bug?

A bug in terms of a project like this is usually something that demonstrates clearly broken behaviour. For example, if you click a button to go back during a scene, but nothing happens, or the played character gets stuck, invisible, or similar.

When you are posting a bug you should consider whether what you've found may be unfinished content, for example, if you find an inventory item but can't figure out what to do with it, or it doesn't appear to work, then it may be that that inventory item isn't implemented yet. You can usually find notes about partially implemented parts of the game in the change-log, or if you're not sure then you can ask in the Discussion Forum.

Has it been posted already?

While a good idea throughout the forums, please do a quick search (top right corner) to see if your bug has already been posted! Even quickly skimming the first page of the bugs forum will usually reveal if your bug is known or not.

What should I say in my post?

At a minimum you should mention where in the game the bug happens (which screen/area), and, if relevant, which character(s) are involved in the bug. However, you are encouraged to provide as much detail as you can, and if possible please provide a step-by-step reproduction of the bug saying how another player might trigger the same thing. For example, if you tried to walk past the cave-guard but got stuck, then you might post:

  1. Proceed to cave-entrance (screen with cave-guard) without acquiring stone.
  2. Attempt to pass the cave-guard.

This is a trivial example, however such information makes it a lot easier for a developer to see what is going wrong.
