I know what you're all thinking... "another one?!"
Yeah. This is my third post, but I've read almost every single thread through and through. Let me explain further.
I've been looking for a project forum like this for weeks now--and out of my excitement, I've always wanted to help do something like this.
I'm a digital artist. I started out drawing (since birth) and really never stopped, even after photography.
I'm extremely familiar with Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flex... the whole sha-bang. I've been working with each for the last 7-8 years. I guess you can say that I'm what they call an Adobe Master.
As a child, I was notorious for drawing things as they were. I could copy any style, any method almost exactly, the only problem is that I need to complete two of three pieces of similarity in order to make a turnover into that style--so bear with me.
I drew this naked Samus with the pen tool on Photoshop in about 20 minutes, so please, don't think this took me forever. I allotted myself that time in order to show how quickly I can get things done. Yes, I know the body is rough, and the face is a bit off, the hands are a bit weird, the nipples don't look right and the blah blah blah. I did this in twenty minutes, people--its not going anywhere in anything. If I had spent a good hour working on it, sure, it could have been good. But this is something I just scrambled to do while I was bored.

I will say that I haven't really drawn anime since I was a teenager, and I never really drew any nude bodies at the time. Luckily, Playshapes made the bodies already, and they're beautifully drawn and finished, so I could probably just staple some hair and eyes and color onto a normal model. Just tell me if you think my style's a little like Playshapes' (that's my major goal--and even if Playshapes himself could say so). I'm sure I could just mess with the proportions of the shapes, make a single face, and be done with it. I can also make enemy models.
I can make:
-Enemies
-Bosses
-Girls
-Guys
-Concept Art
-Anims/Actions
-Anything with Photoshop/Flash, even loaders or openings
-Movies (flash, duh)
If you guys need any help, just holler, I'll be here.

Well, I can say that the project could always use new artists, especially talented ones!

That's a pretty good copy for your first attempt at PlayShapes' style. I'd love to see a few more attempts at characters, given how good that Samus is after only 20 minutes of work.

I really do hope that you join up -- you're clearly talented, and know how to use the software that's relevant to the project. :D

okay that is good for a 20 min drawing but you should still pay attention to anatomy and also not be too specific on your skin shading (some of the shading looks unnatural mainly the forward arm.) still talk to mcgee since hes the one interested in having more vector artists. also if you can copy styles that's good maybe we can have two digital artists then, you and mcgee.

Yeah, I was upset with the anatomy, as well as the lips and, overall, the face--I spent more time on the face and hair then the body and tried to limit myself. This was a combination of me wanting to test myself in finishing Samus quickly and me wanting to go to sleep. The reason its so screwed up is because I'm (instead of using my big, nice monitor) using my little tiny 12 inch monitor with a 1280x800 screen--the mouse I'm using isn't really reading all the locations, and I used the image below for reference.

I know, by looking at this, the arm looks fucked up, and so does the leg, the lips and everything else--but hey. Twenty minutes :P

heh, i thought that image looked referenced, if you're mostly going to be building on from vix's work then i wouldn't worry about it, but otherwise i'd like to see what you can do with minimum references (do new poses and such)
