Whatever alternate ending a purity score of 0 leads to is likely to be my favourite part of the game, so I await the full finished product with anticipation.

Also, if Thyme runs a brothel, is she really going to be just at 60 purity : O

She's the mistress, so she doesn't actually HAVE to sleep with any of the clientele there, but basically Thyme gets to pick and choose. Historically, mistresses of brothels (or at least Parisian ones) tend to oversee clients and were not necessarily required to do any prostitution themselves; I just made it that Thyme happens to do so for the 'sexy woman who knows how to please you' factor. Being above 50 purity, she's willing to please if needed but not yet willing to actually degrade herself for that purpose.

Having the 'virgin' status as a switch instead of being correlated with Purity score also makes it so that you can have a low Purity and still technically be a 'virgin', provided you know which events to stay away from!

I knew the values existed; I was just looking to see if there was some way that you could tell what it is yet. But at least I know I'm not going crazy not finding the values listed anywhere. And thanks for saying when it'll be implimented. That way, if I don't find it next patch, I won't be thinking I'm crazy. xD

I am exactly the same beta testing and in making a game...I lack commitment...I just prefer to enjoy the games others make :D

Regarding purity meter. I assume you use variables to do that? You can just use \V[x] where x is the variable. Example:
The purity of Emilia is \V[1].
Just make an npc/item who checks the character and gives out the text.
Regarding of how well your npc's are done you could just copy one, delete everything unimportant and let it say the text.

Re: Despair Labyrinth (RPGVX) Latest Release: Ver.0.03 (8/21

Postby KITAmaru » Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:56 am

Ahh, thanks for that. I will see if I can't do that soon.

ALSO: What I have so far in 0.03 is now out! Check the first post for the download links. It's still a work in progress, mind you, but feedback and comments is very much appreciated as always.

Gosh, Rhiannon is still way too strong. I think combat got 'too easy', and that the enemies need an HP boost. I'll fix that in the next day or so.

As of the most recent popularity polls, looks like Emilia's in a very slight lead over Lanie, with Asella batting last. :( I wonder if / how choices might change after seeing each character's 'unique' scene?

I like the new additions, and the combat seems much better this time around. However, I wish Cesca would attack one at a time for both weapons rather than both weapons for a single amount of damage. That way, she wouldn't miss in one attack with both weapons. I like the branching paths you put in the options for the 'specific' storyline, and I still think Cesca's cool because of her personality.

Also, will we see some more things implimented at the lair? Like, forced to serve in that public use thing? Even if not, it's a cool-looking area at least. And once I used high-potion to get my health up, Cesca took care of them easily.

Which reminds me... the Rondel is a really powerful weapon, and if you lose the first time and beat the drunk version of the first guy... you can get the powerful weapon. Was this intentional to give such a good weapon right away? If not, you should probably change it to the Gladius or something, so you're not OP'ed for losing.

I believe that's all I have to say for now about the new patch.

Hahahaha... As I mentioned, with only technically 3 H-scenes right now, the new room aka The Chambers are definitely not 100% implemented and it's a place where you'll see a lot more action in the future. Right now they're a little buggy (escaping and then getting caught by an assassin again will replay the first scene, which is only supposed to happen once) but don't worry, I'm working on that and will likely come out with a fix within the week. There's a lot of foreshadowing at this moment in time--so a lot of the characters you see might make appearances in the future, and other H-scenes are still to be made in later patches.

If you walk around a bit, you might notice that Cedgar is walking around as a general NPC in the Chambers, so long as you're not Cesca. Same with Falcoun for Thyme and Rousseau for Sairyn, amongst others.

I'm not really sure what the deal is with Cesca; she has Two Swords Style enabled but doesn't do Attack 1, Attack 2 like Emilia, who apparently can do so with two swords, two daggers, a sword and a dagger, and so on. I'll try and figure it out.

Yeah, weapons aren't quite finished yet. I haven't adjusted the proper intervals between weapons (they double, lol--whereas most RPG's tend to let the stronger version of a weapon be around 3-7 more ATK), and the current ones are but placeholders. The Rondel is actually the third weapon, if I'm not mistaken, hence it's a bit OP, but don't sweat it. It'll be balanced soon as well as the other weapons; I just released this patch somewhat early to show what I've gotten done so far.

I'm particularly glad that the "please them" options in the chambers are uppermost, and your bar starts on them.

I can't tell you how unspeakably annoying it would be when grinding, to misclick and bite a motherfucker's dick off.

Oh, also, the sex slave ending is completely satisfactory. I call it "The True Ending."

Hey! definitely loving the game so far, but i'm encountering two somewhat common problems:

1) We REALLY need to do something about Irine, because I for one DEFINITELY want to see the lesbian scene with the maid

2) The game works fine on my computer, but when I run it using wine for mac, it gives me a warning stating "failed to load archive". how can I fix this?

keep up the good work~

JohnCollins: Er... thanks to your signature, I'm not sure if this is a serious question, lol... Buuut, Google RGSS202E.dll or download it here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LWF7HN2T
Or it could be that you don't have the RTP (or have a way old version)?
Make sure you download the RPG Maker VX runtime package in order to play the game if you haven't already.
http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/run-time-package
Plus, after downloading this, you'll be able to play pretty much any game made in RPG Maker VX.

I could package my game with the RTP, but I think it'd add at least 20MB to the compressed file, and I'm pretty comfortable with it's size right now. (twss)

Lucky: LOL. I don't think I did it on purpose either, but yeah... Generally, I try to make the 'Refuse' option the default one, but since this one involved biting someone's dick off, I figured I wouldn't just this once. ;) I originally just had the same oral scene but with an MS Paint-done 'CENSORED' over it, but I was like ah, what the hell, let's mangle the guy's junk a little bit in 3DCG. I couldn't help but chuckle as I was doing it.

And don't worry about the sex slave stuff, there's probably more where that came from, given the nature of the storyline. Next update I'm working on a mini boss fight of sorts, along with several new areas (a couple with their own H-scene). I feel like I can actually try to make some progress in the game at this point, now that I have a place to dump the girls when I have a new enemy so I don't need to make a separate H-scene for every single bloke out there.
All the while, I can gradually add more types of violators to the Chambers, slowly expanding the range of positions you can have and what not. I understand some people were expecting more of a spitroast from the MMF scene, but I only made it this way due to how I had the scene panning out in the beginning, so don't worry, that'll come in time.

If you're worried about a shortage of H-scenes, don't sweat it! I will almost always add at least 2 scenes for EACH character with every update. That's at least 16-32 CG's to enjoy. :P

No WinRAR? Hmm...
Well, I re-uploaded it in its original .exe format for you, so here:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/3kwnxx
That's version 0.03. I'll likely have a bugfix patch plus some other stuff added by the end of this week.

A really great game so far, thank you for your contribution!

One thing I noted when I first played though, is this:

Not much of a mistake, but sill, if you need proof-readers, I'd be glad to help. I used to QC scripts for a fansubbing group, so I have a little experience with spelling / grammar / sentence construction.

Keep up the good work.

when you get re-captured, will enemies respawn? (they dont now, but if you clear the room, then get thrown back in there at a later point in the game, will they have respawned harder enemies? or something?)
