Sex Realm - Flash Hentai RPG Project - WIP

Hi guys:

I've been lurker of this forum for almost a year. Your work inspired me to learn Flash, and now I think I have somethig good enough to share with you all.

I'm trying to create a Hentai RPG game using Flash. My idea is to create a Hentai RPG game, but somethig more than just small squared sprites moving, with some hentai CG image for H-events. I think it's more interesting that the sex events would be in the main action of the game.

So, I was looking for a combination of "Hi No Tetsu No Buresu" (http://scgarden.x.fc2.com/project02.html) with "Legend of Krystal" (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/536624)

The current version is 0.3801, so I need opinions to keep on working on the game. I mainly need your critics about:
- Main character´s look.
- Game mechanics/difficult.
- Game art (what things I should improve).
- Language (english mistakes and errors).
- Bugs.
- Everything else you'd like to comment.

Im no pro any aspect of Flash, but this looks like it could be really interesting. So there, you just got first fan of this game even though it's not finished, but I know it will be good. I ain't have found bugs, played it for 5-10 minutes. Looks good, smooth controls...maybe you should implement some kind of map in the top right corner so the players can know where are they positioned on the map currently. If all the maps are gonna be big, than you gotta do something about it. Show us where we are :D! Btw, give us "Restart" button so we don't need to reload the map to play again. This is awesome work, please keep it up with updates, am really interested in it.

Looks like it has good potential. One thing, though, the title screen is very slow on my older computer. It would be better if you replaced that wacky green moving graphic with something that needs less computation. A quality toggle would also be handy - I like to set quality low to maximize speed, though I can right click to do that for now.

The character looks just fine, though it's always nice if you can customize things like her hair and skin tone.
For game mechanics, a system of clothing damage before you start to lose health would be good. Panties protect you from one hit and then fall apart, skirts after two hits, pants after three, and so on. Monsters can strike top or bottom randomly to hit different clothing, causing health damage if there isn't any clothing there.
The difficulty can be tweaked later on when the game's more complete. For now my only concern is that if you're moving south, it's hard to see monsters and line up attacks on them, as you have less screen in front of you. You could maybe solve this by panning the screen slightly in the direction you last moved (but waiting a second or two after the movement to do so, to smooth out fast direction changes).
For game art, I say just make more interesting enemies as the first improvement. Rats and snakes are a bit boring. Let your imagination go nuts and draw something unusual.
I don't see any english problems or bugs.

whats the story?
whats the game gonna be in the end?

also, could you make the upwards walk a bit faster? walking horizontally feels significantly faster then walking vertically.
whatsup with the rat killing me in like a second? i missed it when i kicked it, i guess, TWICE, and then i died. so more hp plox?
also, a bit more of a hud, as noted above. a hp bar is good, but only the beginning
whats the deal with the 'shrooms?
i found some underwear and a bra in the cave. whats the use, are you going to be naked later?

for the girl itself, i'd give her a bit less make up, and it could be just me, but she looks a bit cross-eyed.

fix these points, contemplate, or just throw them out, i dont really care, cuz in the end, you've got a pretty fun game, especially for a 0.1 version.
(wow, lots of comma's in that last sentence D: AND NO SMILIES EITHER D: omg i sound so serious Dx )

-Think I'd prefer it if the screen stuck to her instead of that little bit you have to play around in on the screen before the whole screen moves when you walk somewhere - makes it hard to see enemies coming which doesn't make sense.

-I actually enjoyed how nasty the rats were :'D you've only got underwear on after all and I like difficulty.

-Amusing game - died by eating the wrong mushroom... oops

-The text for the description of items in the inventory needs to be larger, I think. Is a little hard to read, hence death..(although that was me not looking but shh)

-I got to 5 red mushrooms, found a locked chest and a small cave. Is this everything that's in there or did I miss something?

Am liking it so far

Thanks a lot for your opinions! I'll try to answer fast, but you wrote a lot! (That's a good signal. It seems you really like it :D)

About the map, I definelly have to do something. Right now it is not so big, but I will be much bigger. At some point, I should make a quest that rewards you with a map item... or something. I gotta do.

About the title screen, at first I didn't think about running in slow computers, but you are totally right. I have two choices:
- Low or Medium quality as default.
- Optimize the code of the effect. (Actually it's a cellular authomaton implemented in AS 2... sounds pretty geeky xD)
I think I'll try the second one (actually, when I just wrote this reply xD), and if it doesn't go faster, I'll do the first choice.

About the customization of the character, I planned to change clothes in game and maybe hairstyle, but I think I can't do so much work as Corta with their characters templates.

At the beginning, I thought clothes as some defense values: some parts would give you Physical attack reduction and/or Fire/Electric resistance against spells, so you'd need to change your clothes depending of the enemy. That's not implemented yet in the main character, but I did in enemies (for example, the rat boss has 3 physical damage reduction and 0 to spells resistances. Damage done by the main character -her name is Beth- is (0-5) (1d6-1 in Dungeons and Dragons terms) plus 1 extra point for each 10 attack power value. The maximum attack power is 10xLevel). In the next version, I hope to have implemented magical attacks too.
Anyway, the idea of enemies damaging clothes is very interesting. :-)

For future enemies, it's about time to create something that can have sex with Beth.

About the story, I have it in my mind. The next I'm working on is the intro. So you'll know how Beth got in that weird forest. Lot of surprises! I prefer not to discover the plot yet, hahaha.

About the rats, the idea is that at level one, they have to be a menace. But when you are level 3 or 4, you will kill them easy. And when you find better clothes, they won't damage you.

The underwear in cave was there for testing pourposes. And you are right, in future version Beth can take off her clothes, but that will depend of a "sluttyness" value that increases or decreases along the game.

About changes on her, I'll try to fix the "crossed eyes". As you say, I'll fix these points and contemplate.

About the screen, I prefer this kind of camera move instead of the standard RPG games, where you go from a screen to another.

And you have to talk to the old woman (key Z). She will give you the key to the locked chest after a couple of quests.

Final quest (rune chest) seems to be broken (couldn't find it). The game looks great so far, I'm psyched at what you have so far, it all looks good, and I'm interested in where you'll go with this. Fan count +1.

cosmetic suggestions: her lower legs seems a little weird given the rest of her proportions. Maybe ease back on the calves a little, or alter the fit a bit — I'm not quite sure. The animation on the walk looks good, but the distance covered in the game per animated step doesn't quite match up. Makes it seem like she's walking against a moving sidewalk (the flat escalator belts) I'd also suggest having her arms do something when she kicks; right now it seems like she's rubbing up her thighs.

And I think the arms feel out just a little too wide from her body, maybe move those in a pixel if anyone else thinks those are also a little off.

suggestion wise I'd have an ingame option for viewing which controls do what (rather than having the list only on a blog page)

certainly a very nice start so far.

Found a small text bug. In the old woman's last statement when she gives you the key, the last line is cut off.

Also, the red mushroom text says it seems "eatable". Should be "edible".

Now that I played it again, I agree that the up-down movement needs to be faster.

Good job mate, like it alot. I saw the configure screen, but it does not show which keys do what so in game you have to keep pressing buttons until you find the talk button (z) or etc.

The only thing that you could improve is give her a run/fast walk button. The way it is right now is to slow.

are you referring to the chest in the lower left part of the map/world/something?
the one holding a bag of coins (i guess?) and a 'shroom?
cuz i opened it without no key :3

also, i guess the mushrooms are for the quest? i only just played it again and talked to the old hag, before my previous post i died just before i could talk to her

About the body of the main character (Beth), when I created her, I used this guide I found in Lok (and was excellent. Absolutely recommended for your female characters).

I've tried to modify calves, and now look better. But I prefer your opinion. Just compare both bodies and decide what's better.

I also tried to modify the left eye, and trust me, other chioces were horrible.

Anyway, please, keep on opining about the way she looks. Those are the kind of comments I need most right now (before starting to drawing clothes). Should I make her arms shorter? Longer legs maybe?... etc.

Totally agree. I have to try some positions for her arms while kicking.

Actually, you can get a desciption of each key (and what it does) at the setup menu.

Tht doesn't happen when you play full screen. Seems to be a problem of bad text scalation. Anyway, I must reduce the statement.

Fixed in the v0.11. I prefer to upload this version only to my blog. That is because in the forum rules, Renara recommends not uploading every single updated version. So, only small changes from 0.1 to 0.11, and I prefer to upload to Lok site something more advanced.
Actually, I used "fit to be eaten" rather than "edible" in the description (it's more understandble for non english natives like me... in fact, I didn't know "edible" exists before you wrote it xD)

For the momment, there are two chests in game. The wood one can be opened without key, but the metal one need it.

About how fast she should move, I have to try different configurations. I'd like players get the feeling that the world they are playing in is very big. If Beth moves fast, this feeling is reduced. Otherwise, if she moves too slow, makes moving from a place to another too boring.

might i suggest making the round part of her hair a bit smaller? maybe thats the thing that makes the head look big
the ponytail is fine, but maybe the bangs need to be adjusted to, accordingly.

for the movement, its just that the upwards movement is way slower than the sideways movement. either make the sideways slower or the upwards faster, its your call, but theyre not equally, i'd start there.

btw, i took a look at the eye for ya

About changing her hair... seems a lot of work, and now I prefer to focus on the Intro. Maybe later.

I modified the eye as you did. Do you people prefer this look or the previous one? Or should I make more changes?

Done! I did the walking animation go faster, so this "moving sidewalk" effect has been reduced, but not disapeared. Anyway, I think now it looks a bit better.

Done too! Now you have an inventory item that allows redefine keys in game.

Not really. I played Diablo II, but when I did the stones, I wasn't thinking in. I just did something to fill so much empty map (like the small trees). I thought 5 rocks in that way could look great, and in the future could be part of the story. For example, you could need go there and cast certain spell to do something for a quest. But right now I have no plan for those rocks.

Anyway, right now I'm focused in the Intro. I think you guys deserve to know the story of Beth.

This looks good tho an intro would be nice (my 2 cents)toss in a skip or press this to speed up this when u talk) one Q i do have is will there be different endings? if you Need ideas for "Rape" monsters you should look up MGE but just for "ideas"

Okay, here I am to gripe about the game. I keep getting RNG screwed on the rats, could you make the minimum damage 1? having the minimum hits on a rat be 7 (or is it 6?) instead of infinite would be nice.

You know it's possible to kill them without being hit at all, right? Just don't chase them when you kick them, because they're invincible until they get up again.
