It's stuff like this that always shocks me about you creative-types. You're working with many of the same sources, the same materials, even some of the same processes, but you produce two totally different things. How does that even happen? It blows my little code-monkey mind.

You wait a year between releases so that people forget all about what you did before. :v:

On a more serious note, a big part of it is just a difference in style and tone. In Despair Labyrinth, the rape scenes are a minor annoyance for the character at worst, and surprise-sex-she-didn't-know-she-wanted most of the time. It's also by and large the same girl getting screwed over and over, so each scene has a greater focus on "OK, this time she's getting fucked by a horse/clown/orc/Voltron/etc," so showing the thing doing the raping is more important.

In Elysium, still a somewhat rape-heavy game (if less so than I'd originally intended), the rape scenes are generally supposed to be a turning point for the character (from the enemy to the defeated, from a common citizen to a victim, etc.) I generally find sex scenes somewhat annoying to write, even if the CGs are fun to pose - there are only so many ways you can string moans and groans together, so unless you increasingly branch out into bizarro-fetish territory, there's a lot of repetition. So for the most part I try to use them in situations where they "count." Characters in Elysium aren't really supposed to just dust themselves off after a scene and carry on as if nothing has happened. In those scenes, the focus is on the girl and what's happened to her, so showing the male in the CG is less important.

In the end, two different goals leads to two different styles.

@el_nino13 Quite a good idea..... Like either you can have a pet, or be a pet for someone for a certain amount of time.... (Have them run errands and stuff like that too.... So many things to be done with that idea.)

Gonna be some human-human encounters for sure, both straight and FxF.
Ryan-
As for the mods, um, I'd have to find them again. I'll PM you when I do.
Seyzer-
Aaaand, not gonna lie, this game was started as an excuse to write looooots of smut, sure, and less in the realm of story, otherwise I wouldn't have made it a 'dungeon crawler'. Although anyone who really knows the world via the related RPs and storylines would know exactly how deep it's gotten, if inadvertently so; there's a whole world beyond the dungeon which I unfortunately have only managed to get into threads instead of the game, and no, it's not 'tee-hee got raped move along' in the slightest. I do enjoy writing detailed erotic scenes and tend to play with people who are usually better than me in that department, so as to keep learning and improving, though I found that a second-person perspective in these scenes tends to stifle creativity by just a little bit, where the mindbreak helps due to helping fulfill the other side by forcing a reaction on the player's part. Kind of a designer's trap that I made it so that everything that can beat you can essentially rape you, since it takes a lot of work in terms of sheer number of H-scenes added, whereas in games like Harem and Elysium the designers can pretty much pick and choose what H-scenes they want to do, but you can chalk that up to excessive ambition in making a game rich with H-content.

At any rate, if I have one primary goal for this project, it's to raise the quality of the smut writing overall in the English RPGM community. There are so many great projects out there that have popped up, and lots of fun concepts, but if this one is to be remembered for anything, I'd just like people to compare the H-writing in new games to this one, because I personally enjoy reading good wordplay in that sense (even if I myself am not the best at it by far). There's also a pretty cool world involved too, but if I'm to be realistic about that one, there's just no way I can portray it all very well in terms of translating RPs to in-game content.

Metro Cop Wrote:hey KITAmaru, i really enjoying this game and am excited for the next release and wanted to tell you that you did a very good job. Btw is there gonna be a way to get back your money from that thief that steals it? Also, i'm not sure if this has been suggested before but can you make an option to turn of the speed text function as it makes me miss out on a lot of text in situations where i am walking down and text appears and i immediately skip the text. I think it'll be a good idea to either make a function to turn it off or remapping it to another key.

Kind on an exploit, but if you spend ALL your money on items like a potions and stuff before the encounter with the thief, you wont lose much since he doesn't take items. You can then just sell the items back at a later time since the thief encounter only happens once. Otherwise I think he's only there to make the following optional scene with the noble that much more... tempting.

Yes the game is still alive, read the last page or two for information regarding it.

Designing and making games like this takes time, and real life does tend to get in the way. Be patient, good things come to those who wait.

MediaFire link is down, though I'm not surprised, considering that MediaFire is deleting adult content recently.

Quick feedback,

I liked the game but some PC characters were MUCH weaker than others (e.g., Rhiannon barely survived the Rouge Division, but Thyme could breeze through the whole game, or this could also be the fact that I played Rhiannon first, Thyme second). I would propose for there to be at least a difficulty meter at the character selection screen, or a short sentence such as "recommended for advanced players" or "recommended for first time players". If anyone has a different experience with PC, please say so.

Glossary: PC means playable character(s) as in NPC vs PC.

Thyme is an implied immortal witch, Rhiannon is a Berserker bandit. nope don't see no problems there on difficultly.

I don't think James3167 had a problem with the fact that some characters are more difficult to play with. Be it story related /fitting or simply game mechanics being what they are.
As i read it, he simply asked about the possibility for a pointer when you pick the character about how difficult it might be compared to the other characters.

As for my experience with varying difficulties in the game, it's been a while since i played DLaby but i do rember some characters being more difficult than others. And if i remember correctly Rhiannon for example was able to dish out horrendous amounts of damage, but lacked in the defense/healing department. So in a protracted fight she will be in much greater trouble than a character with more defensive/healing options like Thyme or Asella.
So i guess i had a similar experience to you, James.

I'd call difficulty something of a moot point considering there's not really any "level cap" of any kind and one can EASILY overlevel any of the characters to breeze through an area with like... 5-10 minutes of "grinding" at most. Most of the characters who feel "weak" just may not be being used right too. In the earlier versions of the game, Cesca couldn't use swords and people complained she was under-powered, despite having the largest array of status-inducing moves in the game and being able to "lock down" or "neuter" multiple enemies at a time, almost never getting hit in the hands of a good player, and a large variety of daggers like Sword-Breaker having additional effects to them.

Also as I understand it, there are supposed to be more "ally' characters in the future similar to Gwyn that will make the future divisions easier as well. Lanie, for example, may not be able to hits very well, but her usefulness as a multi-target glass cannon with every element in the game (except void and holy) is tremendous when another character is there to soak up some damage.

...

Besides, in the actual game world they're balanced alot better than in the Dlaby RPs I've seen Kita run. You put an 18 year old school girl (Lanie) up against a much older and more experienced witch with with illegal void magic (Thyme), they're NOT going to be the same strength. (Lanie has it pretty easy anyway, most Royal Magic Academy students in the RP world only get ONE element they're good at.). The same is probably true if you throw up a nun (Irine) or a random street theif (Cesca) up against a trained swordsman of the ROYAL GUARD like Asella.
Really though, I think the variety in the game itself is more for flavor and playstyle choice though. This isn't a button-mashy fighting game, there's no real need to get picky about "tiers" or which character is the "best" in combat. Suuuure you can beat Pokemon with a team of 6 Mewtwo, but you'll probably have more fun doing it Nuzlocke style.
