Yeah I'm lost like you. I mean, I remember that it was something like a manual or a guide that said birdo was a guy who thinks he's a girl.
In the state, they have done everything possible to hide that. But when drawing him/her, decided to get stuck with being a girl, or at least post-op :lol: .

Anyway, editing can be done, if people want. Ivanaedler commented that in his version, it will be backward (birdo being a girl who thinks/wants to be a guy ;) ).

Apparently the part in Super Mario Bros 2 that said Birdo is a guy that thinks he is a girl was an error and that is supposed to be the description of Ostro. It seems though that nothing has been said by the original creators, just by the American localization staff stating that Birdo is indeed female and that the previous misconception was due to a localization error.

Edit:After further looking it seems that in Japanese games that feature Birdo they all seem to imply that Birdo is female but never definitively give her a gender.

The right or wrong issue all depends on how the character is going to be uses. To my understanding Blargh plans on using Birdo as a playable character so in his case using a Peach model based Birdo makes more sense. In ivanaedler's game he plans to use Birdo exclusively as an enemy so an original, non-Peach based model makes more sense for him. Since the two creators are going in different directions with the character it makes sense that the models are different.

I liked it , really! But I really want to stick with more Mario like creatures, not because 'I want it, period', nooo. That's just because MIM AE has only Peach as a playable character (maybe Daisy and Rosalina in the future), and I wanted a more Classic Mario approach, just to imagine the character doing scenes with more identifiable characters we all know since a kid. And, of course, because I wanted to use Birdo as an enemy (like goombas and koopas), so Birdo can have different sex scenes and she can walk by herself (some AI)! And features like spitting eggs and interacting with Peach in adventure puzzles.

Anyway, we must direct our eyes to the features and the shower of ideas. That's more important in the creative area. To be creative! All hard work has value! That's why I've put two images of Birdo in the former posts. To get opinions from him, not to say to him 'use it like this'. No no no.
And, with more Birdo models, everybody wins, because with two different birdos, it will be possible to use them in different ways. E.g. Blargh can still use Birdo model I use in his koopalings.

So, the short answer: I become glad when Blargh becomes glad. I want to help (always), not to create difficulty. And Blargh knows me: I'm a enthusiastic man. I like to share ideas, features, announcements, and everything thats needed to let all our games FTW ! I also find bugs for him. He also knows that I understand him selecting only assets that gets interesting in his version. But I insist, we must not be silent. Ideas goes on...and vanishes. That's why I come here time from time with ideas. No ideas = not active minds (IMHO).

You hit the nail right on the head there, pretty much explains clearly the difference in planning here; Lucky made it sound like ivanaedler's decision was the wrong one, and blargh's was the right one. Ivanaedler said he want to add enemies, not characters, and so because of the indecision of "more dinosaur-ish/more human-ish" debate for birdo, he made the poll, to see the popular opinion (and so that I don't have to make another one for the 50th time...joking :D ). Blargh has clearly said he wanted birdo more like peach, so that it can be a playable character (and maybe an enemy too).

Also blargh, I'm here to help as well, there's the model right there, I want to see your direction on this matter.

Er, too late? I probably should've just asked for a CS5 version. Incidentally, do you have that in a side head? The mouth on mine is quite a bit too big. >_>

I'm making Birdo a dickgirl for the mini-boss encounter, regular female for the character select. I'd do the same for pretty much any tranny character. <_<

Honestly, a big part of my choice is 'dat.body != tehSexy.tome;'. If I'm going to include Birdo in a sexual encounter, I want her to be something that's in my preference range, and I'm going to include Birdo in at least one sexual encounter. >_> A Peach-based body is just the easiest option I have available to make sure it's what I like.

New update:
- Added Playshapes' new Krystal heads from New Bowser's Castle and MiM2, but the forward-facing head's pretty obviously not going to work together with the current parts. I will do what I can to make it work with the eye, lip, and jaw parts.
- Changed Krystal's fur colors to blue/gray instead of purple/pink to match the new head.
- Added Birdo by ivanaedler.
* A number of scenes, particularly with Morton, don't work well with Birdo's nose. There may never be a fix, unless I'm just being obtuse. >_>
- The map has been updated so all visited zones should become unhidden.
- Power-up and boob-size should now be saved when you save the game.
* Star speed is saved, but the outfit will default to whatever you set for Poison.
- The Poison Mushroom in the Ghost House can now be dodged.
- Slightly increased the goldness of the Star aura.
- Player gravity underwater has been fixed.
- Returned the second side hair piece to corta's models.
- Added a 6th Koopa Troopa to the Ghost House.

These hairdo based on Nova and Samus have gone awry I think as they're mis-layered somehow. However, I've noticed that my Daisy Striker outfit seems to have mis-layered gloves as well. There's no telling though what other articles of clothing, or body parts might have been mis-layered.

I' ve been playing this game for months but just one in this page. It's cool how a game can evolve with the help of good flash makers.
I really like what you are doing and I was wating for this last update and its pretty cool the new stuff you added but I have a complain about Krystal, because it was my favorite character and sudenly you made such a drastic change, Im not saying you've got to put the other back (which I woud like), because maybe you made a poll or somthing and other think its better this way, but I belive it looked much better before. Otherwise It is a perfect work what you're doing out here! :D

Assets:
- Boo (with parts) - Base of MadBobomb
- 2 animations: show/hide, and walking (up-down)
- Ghost house door
(I want to do a living Boo, that's why I did just the up-down animation. He will bounce like this when approaching Peach).

To use the door, simply let the character press UP when in front of it, then make an animation MC, like a sex scene (movement false, alpha 0...) then , when the door starts to close, The entire Peach object should be in a layer beneath the door and in front of the black area. Then she warps to another place.
The sound is the same as the doors in the Peach Castle area, level 1.

PS: Dicks are not shown because It will be retractable in my version (but you can , of course, let it already with hard dicks). Dick object already in the FLA.

I Love the game it's great, But Krystal was my favorite character yet with the new face. It has made her my least favorite. Not trying to complain just saying maybe you could think about changing it back? Or at least maybe think about adding a new face button, To change what face the character is using. Anyway great game, Cant wait to see what you add next.

Hmm, I don't usually comment, but Blargh, I must say I'm not too impressed with the new Krystal model :/ Could we either go back to the old or make it a separate model, as with samus? There was something about the old model that just seemed... hot. Idk, I just miss it.

Just to make a comment on Krystal.
I noticed the new model is better, more crystal clean (no pun intended), but the former model is more innocent and with more vivid nipples. The new one is acting like a mischievous spy (not that's being bad, on the contrary). Maybe you can let the two models in the game?
Also, the legs of the new model are with wrong colors (more purple).
