Making a thread just for Krystal development, since the v 0.3 thread is getting a little bit full and more towards just 0.3 stuff.
I thought a thread like this where we can just develop Krystal would be good since she is our little heroine after all. Just a recap from the previous threads:

One of the biggest things im rooting for is Krystal being able to develop different ways to unlock scenes. This would be specifically stats wise, example, being agile unlocks agile sex scenes, strength unlocking scenes overpowering her "victims," endurance unlocking more scenes that well frankly be considered hardcore, and lastly luck unlocking ??? scenes. With this the game has some re-playability.

This would also affect what Krystal can and can not wear, and personally something I've liked about any game, actual appearance changes based on the stats. Because of the nature of these dolls, this is rather simple, we could change haircuts, give piercings, upgrade breastage, and more. And because the stats affect Krystal cosmetically, having costumes based on stats would solve the clothing problem.

now onto addressing something else!, voice wise, I personally don't want Krystal to be voiced by anyone, I think it gets kind of awkward in a way lol. One of the things that I think works well is simply the Zelda-speak, little umphs and uhmps, that pretty much get the idea.

100% agree. This game is perfectly fine with text. Plus, voice will up the filesize tremendously.

For the ideas of costumes maybe do something like they did on Zelda the orcarina (sp?) of time. Where you have to get krystal to get a certain set of clothing for each area to improve her abilities in the area. Like a fiery outfit for the volcano land. Earthy for the desert. Water for the ocean something like that. Since you guys are hoping to get a stats system in the game i thought i might throw a few ideas around. I really can't contribute for the production xD.

Also get her items that will help her past the areas. Like you mentioned before the master sword, ditto dildo, fire flower (could be like ecstasy boost?), whip and so forth. After reading other post i found myself agreeing with some of the ideas a lot! Best of luck you guys/gals!

Master Sword (Get out of dark forest)
Ditto Dildo (Beat the herm boss?)
Fire Flower (Beat the volcano boss?)

hmm the strenght stat to overpower an enemy, well i'm still wanting to see how my idea with more experience = stripping Samus more would work out. This would be great if how much she can strip off Samus is dependent on her Strength stat.

Or it could be a combination of stats, some parts of Samus's armor require a high strength stat, others require agility or endurance. And as i stated, being able to pass these tests Samus gives krystal, will determine if she's ready for the next area, and might even earn her some items or something from Samus for the next area.

Thinking about the Stat system here are some ideas i had.

Main 3 stat points as any game would have.

Strength: would be for her Stamina how many times she will be able to fuck without taking a bath. The higher it is the more she can "guzzle" cum to prevent her from being covered in it.

Agility: G-spot crits i guess you would say. Like the chances of getting a g-spot crit is higher and gives you a bonus in exp or something. Or something with like a high ecstasy animation something like that.

Intelligence: Still trying to figure out something for this. New positions?

And for another stat system to be involved with her base stats would be "sex skill points"

the more she does a sex position the better she gets at it. (bonus exp?)

Well this project is quite really constantly evolving (not a pkmn joke) so I think the basic stats that were discussed and will probably be kept because of how simple it is is health and skill so your health lets you know how long you can have sex and skill makes it so rougher sex takes away less health. I think this is the basic and certain items may be able to help you along the way and some you can use to train (ditto dildo) maybe some others later on. plus i think were going ot get rid of the exp system and also your health should regain over time slowly at first but the more you train that stat the faster you heal no heals during sex though.

Pretty much, I'd say this would be for later on, but I'd really like to add upon the stat system of Str, Agi, End, and Luck, without the traditional sense of what they mean, simply because it'd open the game up to a lot of different possibilities. And if we are getting rid of the xp system, then simply adding in check points of where Krystal can "Level up" an ability can be seamlessly added in. But as I said before, the stats wouldn't be for how long Krystal can go, but rather unlocking certain scenes, "evolutions", and clothing.

Also, I think the amount of cum on Krystal shouldnt require the need to take a bath. Just the option. A fun idea would be to somehow make the cum realistic so that every scene that involves splatter on her body would stay at those positions, also in any future scenes. Seeing a cumclad Krystal is hot because it reminds me of how many times shes been fucked over and over!

I've added more areas that she can be splattered (legs, ass, stomach etc.), the effects I have aren't great but should do for the moment :)
Having splatters from scenes stay is technically do-able, but probably too unwieldy, and likely to bog the game down if you insist on keeping her covered :P

If it becomes a fps related issue, unless it's a hard feature to implement, we could always give players the option. (for those with strong pc's)

I think you could write a function that could display different keyframes on pieces of her body. I have no idea how though. I'll have to spend some more time with actionscript.

Have it set up so that the "stains" are on a different layer, and have the function call on them.

I don't know if that's the right topic for such a observation but... I simply loved Krystal's facial expressions and I hope they will get some attention as well. They were about half the reason I admired Playshapes work (the other half you can easilly guess), so it would be sad if they were considered as last (or even not considered at all).

If there is a better topic for generall comments about animations, please move this post

me and a few others have been talking and the facial expressions came up, we don't plan to change them in terms of say their style or anything. At best new expessions might be used, ones that show more pleasure when she's having sex, but overall i think that 'sad look' she has when moving around will remain.

All expressions will be kept maybe slightly modified color wise but overall, we're pretty happy with most of the expressions we have now. New expressions will be made of course so enjoy.

Facial expressions is definitely an area to improve; the range of eyes is currently really good, but there are some transitions that don't exist yet, meaning it's hard to switch between some of them. A standardised eye symbol with scripted control however could potentially allow an unlimited number of transitions and maybe even the ability to toggle affects such as blush, sweat, frown-lines or whatever is needed.

i might have an idea, but since i'm not in the mood to type it out again you'll have to go to http://legendofkrystal.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=103&p=2436#p2436 to see it, maybe it might work for some of this but i'm not sure.

Edit: ok nevermid about that i'll just copy and paste it here:

an idea came to me last night; what about making it so we could change characters to get different effects and by pass some obsticals like in super paper mario for the wii, the game still focused around mario but would be impssible to complete with out the others. we could use the numberbar to switch between them, max of ten characters minimum of 2 if this idea is liked, i got this idea from the alternate skins idea which i can no longer find... but then again i just usually skim overthings nowadays... this idea would add some more (if there is any already) rpg (i think that's right) flavor to the game. yeah this idea was better before i fell alseep but i couldn't access the computer because of personal problems which i am not saying.
i only give base ideas, ones that can be built off of, not ones with an end in sight. so don't ask me to give further detail on my ideas.
