Bone tool.

Okay i Have got some more specific workings for the bone tool our first problem is that it only will work with action script 3. The way it works is by taking multiple symbols and gives them a Frame from which they can be manipulated from while keeping the symbols together. I'm gonna mess around with it some more to figure out more so as soon as I get more info I'll post it Ill also try to post a pdf file that is a flash school book so people that are newer to flash can use it for reference..

but this looks likes we will be using it during the action script 3 version but it will require to remake a lot of characters and scenes. but after making them it will be a lot easier to make our scenes.

Thanks for looking into this! Hmm, in this case I may make it a focus as the first item for v0.3, so I can make a developer release for any scenes/characters that will be added in that version. That way we don't get too much new content that then immediately needs to be re-done :)

That sounds great to have, especially if we can make things smoother and update the sprites themselves a bit to get everyone into the groove of things.

Would this make it easier, or harder for people with little Flash experience to contribute their own scenes?

I only ask, because having people that can't script still contribute to the game will help keep up momentum for the project.

Well, what would probably happen is, QQ would provide a simple tutorial. Basically, in a sense, we'd be making a cleaner and more efficient way of being able to move the "paperdolls" with a possibility of cleaner sprites and overall revamp everything to be of better quality and efficiency.

Okay here's a link to a site that can help you out with almost any flash questions the thing is this is for CS4 not any other so for those with lower just go to the top part and click not your version.

Okay here's my complete analysis on the bone tool.

tools you'll be using often. free transform, selection, arranging were the part of body is located etc.

First off I'm gonna say it might be better than vector or it might be worse depends on how much you like vector. The bone tool can make it so our animations are less cluttered than regular vector art and I mean a lot less. each character would only need to occupy one layer total from which we can tween them. In reality though its more like a new way to vector art.
The bone tool so far to what I've been playing around with doesn't have a way to set certain bones ridged so they wont move and you must always start with the head. I'm going to upload a CS4 so you guys can play around with it and see for your self.
A note the entire body is based off the position of the head so be careful I'll leave you guys to play with it.
In all once you get used to it it'll speed things up greatly but its set up time takes awhile so don't get frustrated.
One last note this requires flash CS4 to work so sorry to everyone who has below ; ^; I'll try to get an animation using blaziken with bone tool asap of it though.

Wow, I must say this would greatly save us time on animation probably 10 folds, GG QQ lol.

what i found out is that if you have an complete character template, you can easily put it into the layer,
( i use adobe flash CS4 Professional )
and because its an image of the character, Right-click the character, -> Break apart, and youll have the entire character in the body parts at your selection,
the only bad side is that its on a single layer, so you have to be very tactic on how to put everything in around the character,

Sad news it seems we may only be able to use the bone tool for single characters in the back ground. Ive been trying to make a blaziken blowjob scene using the bone tool and with the amount of time I've spent on it i would have probably been done using vector art. The problem lies with only being able to have one character per armature layer (layer where bones connect symbols to make the bone character). I'll still try to dish the scene out though, but it'll just go through the whole scene because i have zero experience in action script 3. renara help me please. I need to know how to make a loop in action script 3 and I also need to know how to make a simple button.

EDIT: here's my scene in both swf. and fla. Note the swf will just run through since i don,t know anything on action script 3 i know plenty on action script 2 but not 3 ;^; srry guys wish i could immediately present a full scene with buttons and loops. also this took around 2 hours to make.

This might be cheating or downgrading if you will, but would it be possible to convert your scenes with the bone tool as keyframes, and then import them into a flash2.0 document?

yes i can do that but, the thing is if were going to use the bone tool and move into action script 3 i should have a rudimentary understanding of it. so it'll have to wait.

Well, it took me all night, but your flash has successfully been coded in actionscript 3!

Apparently you have to script on layers now instead of on the objects themselves, and the coding itself is extremely confusing. I'm not even sure I understood half of what I just did. Attached the source below. I'm sure there's a faster way to do it, but it works, and that's good enough for me.

Guys i found a portable version of Adobe Flash CS4.
Portable means you don't need to install it to use it, so it's kind of practical for fellas like me that want to give this project a try but are not so found of installing moar programs in their hard drives...

I haven't tested it yet myself. But I suppose it'll work just fine.

Bones and constraints

Hello,

My first post here and a bit of contribution. I found this youtube tutorial that explains "constraints" on bones in Flash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fRcan-2yUs

I decided to try and add bones and constraints to the demonic wolf character. Attached is my file that has my attempt at boning and constraining the character. No animation was attempted yet, and the limbs are not attached to the torso at this time.

Hey QQ, nice work! This example works great! From one animator to another I wanted to make the suggestion to put the root IK bone at the hips. The root needs to be placed where you are willing to allow the character to be the most stiff. Generally speaking, humanoids are moved by the hips! (hehe).

yeah the bone tool was a whole new exploration to me the only problem i have with it is there is 1 bone character per layer limit so it means we cant use it for sex scenes unless we spend extra time on it to try and trick the viewers. so we can use this for simpler animation just to reduce size lets say for some of the background characters or single characters that have some movement.

Can the boned character not be distributed to layers at all? I thought it might be useful to do the animation start to finish with a rigged character, then simply break it apart and re-order the layers as required, is that not possible?
