Dead

Postby Zadkhiel » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:06 pm

Well, after lurking this site since its inception, checking for updates regularly, and scouring the dark deep places of this forum for information, I declare the LoK project dead. Its developers and creators can't do it. Their team has fractured, just as Area 52's did. We, the faithful fans of this project have believed every word shelled out to us about the progress of this project, yet, we have seen NONE of the progress. We've not even received INFORMATIONAL updates, such as "This is what we have done so far." The only people on this site that I really trust to see updates and regular projects from are Gorepete and Blargh. I saw a few Area 52 tidbits here and there, but they were taken down I believe. Back on topic though. I haven't even seen any twitter updates from Renara since the fifteenth of october. Accept it everybody, this project is dead, we can only place our need for cool adult flash games and projects in reliable people such as the two mentioned above. I'd rather see bi-weekly updates than absolutely nothing for 2 years. So as of now, I believe the LoK project to be officially dead. The only thing that would sway my mind would be some sort of official release of something. A mini scene? Even an informational release. If not, the project is dead, accept it.

Well you can't really say it officially dead. That like saying your a brony and you claim halo is officially a pony kinda game.

Your right this project failed and we've know this for a long for a while by the lack of updates and trunks sounding like a broken recorded at times.(Doesn't mean i don't agree with him.)

I believe one of the things that lead to the projects down fall the first time was the lack of any real programming done but i have no clue for sure since that's hear say.

As for this being dead you might be right but officially it's alive and this has been stated by ren recently. Believing it or not isn't the question. The question is if it's officially alive and that it is.

I think every one knows what's going on with the game for the most part but thank you making a blunt thread about it.

You can't officially declare its dead unless your the official (aka the leader of the team). This is a basic fact of how things work.

It's like some random US citizen goes out and declares the CIA as "dead" because they haven't done anything public recently. The team members are probably over worked and getting little time to work on it. That just means its progressing slowly, but hasn't stopped progressing. So unless you are a lead team member, and you know no one is doing any work on it, or going to, you can't declare it as dead.
"Thanks to your unfortunate life, I've found myself being more and more grateful!"

They'll make you jizz in your pants, so others don't have to!"

Eggplants made a post recently, he is part of the LoK team still, he has inside information, and he described the game as 'on steady life support'. So make of that what you will. I'll also be much more willing to listen to what he has to say about the project than anyone else.

Then I can rightfully assume that there will be more to look forward to in the near future? Not that I'm in a rush or anything.

Yes yes, for the thousandth time I've heard that the project isn't dead. I said that, we've been told the project isn't dead a million times, but we've never seen any sort of update whatsoever. At least Area 52 showed us a minor tidbit at one point so they could be like, "hey, heres a little sneak peek" and people LOVED it and it brought in even more fans. Releasing that minor tidbit didn't do any harm to the project or its success at the time. I believe that in order to win back some of its lost fans, the project should release SOMETHING. I don't care if it's even an info update. It could go something like this... "This is what we've done so far, here are a few features we've added!" That would excite so many people and renew faith in the project for many. The current route of "Were not showing you shit" isn't working in my opinion. For all we know, there could be little to no progress on this thing, although I highly doubt that.

It is called the Legend of Krystal because the whole game is nothing more than mythos, a fragment of a legend. The joke has been on you the whole time =).

I am going to just chime in here for a bit, it gets tiring having to write the same thing several times over in pm's, emails, msn, and on the forums. I will do so in a better manner since my name is in green so I am supposed to lead by example being the face of the forums. A lot of people do not understand what it takes to make a game, and the very few who do tend either to get bogged down or never finish.

I have been a part of two major projects since I joined to forum, Ascension and Area_52's team. Granted I never really wanted to be part of Area_52, but rather wanted to redeem what was falling apart from the previous team. It took lots of work to get what little stuff was done, and every time it was released there was as much hate as there was love.

You keep saying release stuff to win back the fans, but when was the last time a fan spent 12 hours working on a model, spent weekends coding instead of doing something else that didn't feel like a chore towards people. Instead they complain about the smallest fragment of a detail, derail topics because their content is not added to a game, and generally spend a whole lot of time whining about things.

I am with Renara on his method, keep it closed. Its not like showing things gets it done any faster, its not like having to deal with fans makes the job any more enjoyable. Ask Z-fied about how he feels trying to cater to you guys, ask gorepete how he feels when he sees 80 pages of samus thread of people saying GOREPETE DO X Y Z BECAUSE I HAS NO TALENT AND DONT WANT TO LEARN.

Not trying to come across as a jerk, but when fans tell you how and when and what a project should be, it makes you lose motivation real fast. Look at ascension.

Edit; Either way the project may or not be dead, but the forums are still kicking. As far as I am concerned nothing left to discuss.
